Well I have changed to this phone from a Note 3 and I like the phone but the firmware is bolted with crappy built in apps and draining power and memory. My main goal is to flush to a custom firmware which hopefully would improve the phone.

Have you tried clean Rom in the development section?

Got my LG G2 from 3uk today. It was DOA
Sending a replacement for tomorrow for doorstep exchange, if they don't show then its a pain in the ass as I go on holiday sunday.
Coming from a Z1 the feel of the phone alone is so much better and looks the dogs nuts in the window case.

Why don't you guys try to focus more on the code used in that rooting app and implement it into the roms? Then all you would have to do is root once, flash the rom with the extra code from the app so that every time you reboot, the rom would root the phone and the stock OS wont override the custom rom. Hopefully it'll work if its viable and the developer of the app is ok with it.

so far the G2 forum has been one of the most friendly, way more friendly than the EVO forum. I really don't know why people have to answer questions sarcastically or rude because they know something another member doesn't.

[REQUEST] Testers needed

Heylo everybody
I hope by now that the Blade regulars know me. If not, well I've been a long time Blade owner and have continued support for the device even as others moved on. Now that I myself have moved on to a Nexus 4, I've decided to take to developing for the ZTE Blade in the hopes that this phone can come close to being the next development legend after the HD2. We're almost there after being among the first 2010 devices to run a stable 4.2.2 build and that's something considering that ZTE stopped support after 2.2
Though I still own the Blade, there are times when I lend it to a cousin to use and it is in light of these times that I created this thread. I am looking for somebody to work alongside me as a tester and moral support . I'm going to be upfront and say that this job has considerable risk because soft bricks can lead to data loss if you don't back up. Hard bricks are almost impossible but there's always that sliver of chance.
Requirements
- A ZTE Blade / Dell XCD35 / Orange San Francisco
- Regular Gtalk availability
- Willingness to flash within 24hrs notice
What we'll be testing
- My kernels
- My ported ROMs
How you benefit
- Early access to my works
- My eternal gratitude
- Eradication of flashophobia
I'll be keeping the thread open for a week in the hope that one of you is willing to give back to the community by helping me out as a tester. After that, I'll be forced to get the thread locked and move to MoDaCo.
Cheers and thanks for reading

LG Official 4.4 build info?

http://www.zpsjbbs.com/thread-6172-1-1.html
Looks like LG is busy building 4.4 out.
I am searching for a beta that I can download and convert for ROM for us to use...
Thanks to Chippah for Droid-Life news post for pointing out article.
If anyone can read Chinese or figure out how to download the KDZ please let me know
We've known about this for a while now. The site is a pay site. The Rom is Korean. I'm not sure if it was helpful or not. I remember reading somewhere that it wasn't helpful for porting to other devices. Especially since this is a few weeks old and I haven't heard any more movement on it or any breakthroughs in KitKat porting.

Ha I guess I am behind the times...I did a quick look over here but did not see anything about it
I am sure it can be ported since release Korean ROMs were ported to to other G2 models without any major issues.

Sharing is caring...Isn't that the whole point of XDA...
If he was so worried about losing his job than maybe he should have not sent it out
If you want to keep it to yourself for whatever reasons that is fine.
I was just looking for a few files too see if the compass issue on the 4.4 builds could be fixed...
Can you at least post the lib, etc and vendor folders?
StarFighter said:
Pretty sure that'd not what the person who gave it to us looses his job because we sent it out thinks. If someone trusts us why break that? And no XDA does have a limit about sharing cause I'm using a ROM I haven't even shared.

+1000.. If he was worried about losing his job, he wouldn't send it it.. If u were to ask me OP,I personally think starfighter and whoever else has it doesn't want to share as they want the prestige of building the first official/unofficial ROM... It's not worth arguing with them.. It's hard to explain sharing to a 17 year genius ... I'm not gonna argue more as it will turn into a personal slugging match.. Back to work now..

I am willing to bet $100 he does not even have it but the only way he can prove it that he does is to post the file to verify
Some people are just like that. If that Korean site is a paid site and you need to pay for the download link than I will and post it up for all to share
It was hard to understand even with Google Translate so will look at it more tonight.

We are indeed working on a stock 4.4 build. We are running into issues getting it to boot. We've enlisted a few other devs to lend us a hand.
So why not post it up so more devs can try to fix it up? If you guys are going to post it anyway why not have others try too?

People tend to forget there are a lot more people with knowledge about developing and fixing roms. But most of them have a job and can't update a rom like Starlighter. There is simply no time for that. But they can help out fixing a KDZ base (Korean/verizon).
When it's available for everyone with knowledge it will be booting a lot faster.

4.4 rollout in Saudi Arabia?

Just read this article about an apparent rollout that started not too long ago:
http://www.androidorigin.com/lg-g2-a...at-ota-update/
Does this mean we can expect to see some stock roms modified and rooted for use on other variants like mine, the D803?*

Link is down already... Another false rumour!
Surely its a rumor. I am already in Saudi Arabia I just check for update but as usual already have the latest build. by the way software version "D80210D-AME-XX".
Probably won't see the update until after the g3 is released. Why update right before a new product?

Yeah I don't think a g3 will be out until fall. Wouldn't they wait at least close to a year for a successor? the g2 came in September I don't think they'd release a new one after only 6 months that wouldn't give it much time to sell since people would overlook it and want the g3. But I don't know much about it that's just my opinion

I appreciate the input but this was a question I was asking, not a comment.
I was wondering about the validity of the post and whether or not their stock 4.4 could be used on a D803 once modified.
Just because someone once told you the same thing about your question doesn't mean it's the same for every other question.

It seems to be a trend I've noticed with the Moto X and now this phone. The devices and OS are getting so good, that very little is needed to "fix" them. I used to be a major flashaholic. I helped develop the method to convert an HTC One to GPE, I haven't run a custom ROM on a device for several months now. Stock Rooted with Xposed is all I need anymore.
Buy the phone for what it can do out of the box, not for what it MAY do in the future.
My 2 cents.
Once a flash whore always a flash whore. hehe Stock is great with the G2 but I just get bored of it rather quickly. I bounce around to whatever Rom is updated. As of now I like dr87's Roms because the echo is gone with the 801 builds. Some Flex Roms are nice too. Just make sure you back up your EFS. I'm thinking about trying the G Flex phone but not sure I want to do that because the G2 development is good. If the G Flex is to big then I would just wait for the S5 or G3 but if ya need a phone now the G2 is great. Might be able to get a discount for Valentine's day.

Look at the regular Android Development section or the Original Android Development section. They both have multi-variant support for tons of stuff including ROMs and general fixes/apps.
simple said it is NOT about third party soft .. it is about amount of end users .. yeah not many people in the world purchased G2 EVEN it is fastest android from all .. CURRENTLY .. it is just because it is not labeled samsung as more people know what that is .. plenty plenty people HAS NO IDEA what LG is ... they know what apple is and samsung .. even HTC or sony is more known .. that is the issue and u been leaded to here for answer for this question .. THAT is the WHY devs. focus more on samsung htc ,sony lg been crap in past .. LG became good in smartphones only in begining of 2013 .. that is just year only ..
