Google Play Error? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I was searching through many forums...couldn't find the answer to this...well...answers were found but work for different users but not mine...
First I have a CF Rooted S4, with stock rom.
Everything was fine so far until a few hours ago, when I tried to download an app from the Play store...it started to give me an error:
"Could not be dowloaded due to an error. (error retreviing information from server."
or
"Error retrieving information from server."
or
"Server error..."
I have tried nearly everything in this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765378&page=5), and nothing worked.
I tried:
1. Deleting and reinstating new google account.
2. Deleting Google Play data/cache, and force stopping the app, along with deleting the Google services framework data/cache..
3. I tried rebooting after everything step...
I'm stuck....

Google was updating and redesigning stuff today, should be A-OK now. Works for me.
I knows there's a different Google home page design now.

Market broken 'error while processing purchase'

Anyone else's market/play broken since latest play update? It throws me a 'error while processing purchase' even when downloading a free app.
If I uninstall market updates, it works again, so I think its something to do with latest build of market.
I'm using the tweaked stock ROM in the dev thread, not sure if its related.
cheers
Am I the only one?

no..i'm facing the same problem too..
SGS2
Me too. But I'm using CM9 Nightly build on Samsung galaxy s2.
Having the same problem here, using Androind revelotion HD 6.6.0 XE on HTC Sensation. Kernel=sebastianFM - Radio=11.69.3504 11.22.3504
Ive tried clearing cache and clearing data on Google play store.
Ive also tried removing my google account and re apply
These options seemed to work before but now nothing i do works.
Stuck unable to download free aps dude to this error.
I had that and it seemed to be intermittent. For an unrelated problem I re flashed the original image and, fingers crossed, it's gone and not coming back.
All the other stuff mentioned didn't help for me either.
Good luck!

tried all the above, but nothing. The only one that helped me was to clear app data and cache from google services framework - restart.
good luck
I am having the same problem with my Galaxy Note @ unoffical CM9...
I"m facing the same issue with Free versions. Downgrading Google play did not succeed.

[Q] 4.2 - Installing & Updating Apps no longer works

I had a very demanding week at work and during a session of mental autopilot, I allowed a friend who had updated his Nexus 7 to 4.2 - talk me through updating MY Nexus 7 to 4.2 (kernel ver. 3.1.10-g22b4fcd). This is something I would never have done without a little checking to see what kinds of problems people were having, but I wasn't thinking clearly and gambled that it wouldn't cause any major problems.
The first thing I noticed was that none of my apps would update. Every time it reports an "Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S - 5:AEC - 0]". I then tried installing an app from the Google Play Store, and got the exact same error. This happened with several apps.
I've had mixed results installing from the Amazon App Store, with a couple successes. However, it doesn't seem to log me in automatically like it used to. At least the installs were successful.
Next, I used Android Task Manager to Stop the Google Play Store app and Clear Cache and Clear Data and then cycled the power of the Nexus 7.
No Luck. I'm still getting the "Error retrieving information from server" message whenever I try to execute an update or downloading a new install.
I sure hope I don't have to revert back to 4.1.2 because I'm going to have a hard time getting everything setup and working the way I had it.
What should I try next? I greatly appreciate any help suggested. Thanks!
Solved
I created a new account and logged into it. Then I deleted my old account and re-booted the tablet. When restarted, I added my old account and logged into it. Now the updates are working without error.
I hope this helps someone.
I'm having the same issue on 4.1.2

Just fixed the issue by deleting my Google account and adding it again.

Reverting back to GOOGLE PLAY 3.9.17 works, too.
Yep, that worked - just download from here and install ---> http://www.mediafire.com/?zqzgh798ybzo8b7

Tried this but unable to install it, likely because I uninstalled the Google Play Store updates and it rolled itself back to 3.9.17
Removing/re-adding account didn't work either, even w/ a reboot + clearing cache/data of the Google Play Store App.
4.2

[Q] Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped.

A problem I have with my Nexus 10, which started several days ago.
As soon as I click the "Google Play" app I get "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped." error and it shuts down.
Seen this problem in other forums, but no definitive answer.
It runs on Android 4.2.2.
I've tried:
Deleting cache of Google play, and some other apps.
Removing my google account and adding it back (or other accounts)
Factory reset (So my current setup is clean).
I'm not as tech savvy as the common dwellers here so I've no idea how to ROM flash or with what to flash it with (Also I'm unrooted, and not sure how I restore older versions of things).
I'm open to suggestions.

If you go to settings, apps, and you press google play, you can uninstall newer versions. I had this problem, but it was because my google play wasn't in /system/app (im rooted with a ROM, and I deleted the gplay from the gapps, so this is not the same problem).

I looked for it, and it doesn't give me that button. I figured that's because after he factory reset it when back to default version (3.10.10) and wasn't able to update, so there's nothing to uninstal.
I'm losing hope, followed by sanity. Arghhh
So far I've unlocked and rooted the N10 to install the latest google play store.
Now the error is changed to "No connection" with a retry button.
Its drastic-but you should re- install the whole image/OS

Yes, that's what he's saying. Sounds like SOMETHING is corrupted, somewhere - even the factory-reset partition.
Last night I was getting "No connection" on G-Play - this morning it's working OK. All other network apps work OK. Not sure what happened.
I'm running PA latest ROM.

Turned it on today and everything starting working as before this problem started.
It must be something on their end, too bad they didn't bother letting me know, wasted some hours on this.
Thanks for all who tried to help.
I've had issues with error-less GPlay crashes that require a reflashing of the entire OS, sadly

i tried fixing permissions, but it didn't solve the problem
Man, I know this is going to sound stupid but are you using the correct version of GApps? I flash numerous roms and have numerous versions of GApps. I do IT and sometimes you just have to walk through every step if all else has already failed. Its obviously a software issue since you can do other things with the table. I hope this helps.

A501 won't download from Google Play or install other ROMs

Hi,
I have an Acer A501 on which I installed CWM and a custom rooted 3.2 ROM shortly after purchasing it in order to use a certain app that required root permissions. I noticed that after the root, the device would give me a "server error" when trying to download apps from Google Play, but I didn't really pay much attention to it, since I didn't download new apps very often and I figured I could just get APKs from other sources. Recently, though, I have been trying to give the tablet a new life by getting Google Play back to work (since searching for APKs on dodgy sites isn't exactly the most reliable way of getting new apps) and maybe installing ICS. I flashed a stock 3.2 ROM and got rid of CWM, since I assumed it was the reason for Google Play not working, but apparently I was wrong, since I am still getting that error. I have also been trying to flash a stock ICS ROM, but every single one I've tried so far shows an error (the Android robot with the yellow warning sign) almost immediately after starting to flash. Does anyone know the solution to these problems? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Bump... Anyone?

Yeah, I remembered I had the same error.
Anyway, pls try to check this link...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733038
In my case, I just removed the existing account. Then, add the same account & it is working OK.
Thanks for the link. As for removing and re-adding the account, I have done that multiple times, to no avail. I have tried force-stopping and clearing the cache of Google Services Framework, as suggested in the thread, but now, I get a connection error merely trying to add a Google account to the device... I even did a factory reset, but I still can't add a Google account, as if the Google Services settings hadn't been reset at all.
EDIT: I just realized that the reason I got a connection error after the factory reset was not being connected to Wi-Fi. However, after clearing the cache and data of Market, Google Services Framework and Download Manager, I get the same connection error while trying to add a Google Account, even while connected to a Wi-Fi network.
EDIT 2: I have rebooted the device, and now I'm back where I started. The error code is RPC:S-7:AEC-0 LOWQ-XYAM-M7MTS.
Any Luck? Same problem here with a stock A500 after a factory reset. I've tried two good google accounts. Getting "Google Talk Authentication Failed" and " Error retrieving data from server"
