[Q] Changes font on clock widgets - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone noticed that the font is wrong on clock widgets like DashClock and Chronus? All the font choices in DashClock are the same system font. It's supposed to be the Jelly Bean large hour small minute look, but it sets itself to the system font automatically. Has anyone else noticed this and does anyone know a fix for this? When you go to add the widget, it shows the correct font.... but when it shows on screen, it goes back to the system default. Please help... it may seem small, but it's driving me nuts.

Really?
No one else has noticed this iisue?

Dusting this thread off. Gonna say I've noticed it too. So maybe it's a bug that hasn't been addressed?

Lock screen clock, not AOD clock change

Can we get a horizontal clock? I can only seem to adjust the AOD clock.
I applied a theme and it was horizontal for a while... a few hours later I look and its back to the vertical one. Anyone else notice this?
Hours and minutes are aligned vertically, if there are notifications.
It seem to be horizontal if you have any notifications. Once those are cleared, it goes back to vertical.
Here is a easy Solution

Takes less than 2 minutes costs nothing, does not revert back after notification or anything like that.
Horizontal clock is an option under AOD display settings. Look for clock style

Go to Settings...Lock screen and security...Information and FaceWidgets...Contact and Information. You can type in something here and it will show up underneath a horizontal clock. If you don't want anything to show up but still want the horizontal clock, just put in one space and no other text.
I've made a theme with horizontal clock on lock screen. This theme used stock icons and a colour is a little bit changed. Change wallpaper and change icons and thats all. But you can create this by yourself by samsung mobile theme editor wish i have later version. So in order to make horizontal clock in this editor you need to use not colour selection on tab lockscreen but images. And upload image of every digit 012345678: and thats all.

This is really the best proposal. I came here to get rid of this ugly clock on lock screen of my S8+. Thank you so much. No theme, nothing. :good:
Edit: does not work. The horizontal clock just showed up because there was a notification.
No dice on Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus for AT&T
Had a horizontal clock working for months using themes, but since the samsung update about a week ago it broke, there really should be a simple was to do this anyway, we shouldn't be looking for work arounds

How to change screen grid size?

Hi:
Just bought this one to my wife. However, there is something that's intriguing me: the screen grid is 5x5 instead of the traditional 4x4. An this is causing a few "bugs" on the appearance of some widgets she uses (Beautiful widget 4x1 and Jorte 2x2), like the text has overlapped letters, or the numbers of the clock on the beautiful widget are outside their place.
Any one knows a easy way to get back to the 4x4 (which i hope will solve this) ?
Change the screen resolution in display settings or set a custom one in developers options.
You can also try using Lawnchair launcher
Tried change the settings on the display settings, but no success. It keeps always the 5x5.
As for the developers options, it does not accept any number i try...it just reverts to the number it's there (currently 360).
Weird cuz i have mine set to 500dp
Confirmed that using display settings DOES change the scale on Oreo (Stable, final) 8.0.0

How to Disable "Icon Frames" on latest NON-buggy Oreo S8?

The Settings for the icon frame is GRAYED OUT as per photo attached.
any help?
Oh man. Hope that can be changed. Hate those frames
Go back to stock theme and then turn it off.
it's grayed out cause its not the default theme, set the default theme back, turn it off then change theme
ahh i see. got i and fixed. thanks xD
I have the same problem, some icons kept the frame after upgrading to oreo, any ideas?
(it's the default theme by the way, and some icons doesn't have the backgound)

Samsung updated a lot (not all) Google's apps icon to fit their icon frame design.
What that means is, instead they make their frames completely opaque white (it is still transparent), they changed Google's apps icon at system level.
If you install a new launcher, you will still see the 'frame' on Google's apps.
This is stupid imo, they should have simply made their frames opaque white.

Problem changing default lockscreen clock font

Hi guys,
I really don't like the ugly Samsung font on the lockscreen, so I want to change it. I know it's stored as the font Clock2017(L/R).ttf, so I just replaced this font by one I want (any Roboto type will do).
After a reboot this seems to work ok, except for one thing. It doesn't show a 1 behind the colon properly. Instead it's a `. So 13:13 looks like 13:`3 I didn't check all possible combo's yet, but I think it's only happening to a 1 right behind the colon.
I tried to replace the clock font with different fonts (Roboto regular, Roboto numbers, AndroidClock), but everytime the same bug appears.
Does anyone know how to solve this annoying problem?
Thanks!
I can confirm it's only the 1 after the colon. If I select the clock type were minutes are shown below hours (so no colon), there is no problem...
Anyone?
