[Q] App location in the SD Card - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just bought a 32 GB SD card and proceeded to move all the application to the SD Card.
But when I go to the SD Card directory, there are only:
.android_secure contains 0 files
LOST.DIR contains 0 files
Where are all my apps directory that I moved to SD Card?

No, apps moved to the external SD reside in android_secure. That's a folder which content can't be read normally using the phone.
It's basically done to make piracy a bit harder. The moved apps all ARE in there, but they're hidden. All perfectly normal

memory on dinc has gone crazy, using sdcard memory for internal and vice versa

so the problem is the the phone is using the sdcard memory for internal use, and the internal memory for sdcard use. I was getting low memory errors.
the card now has another entry.. sdcard home reads as follows..
asec
emmc... .android secure, lost.dir in this folder
sdcard ... .android, fix permisions, lost.dir, tmp. in this folder
secure
how do i get my phone and sd storage back to normal
Use a stock rom, format your sd card.

Hey everyone!
I have an "I wonder?"
I wonder if there is a way to make the tab read the external sd card as the internal one and vice versa.
The tab has "3" memory locations. build in, internal and external.
You see, the external slot can hold a card up to 32 or 64gigs. My internal is, well, getting really low.
There are so many apps and games that store their info on the internal sd card, and if you physically move the info to the external it makes you redownload it. Some games are like a gig download!!! There is one in particular that is 1.5!
Any thoughts?

[Q] Apps on my internal SD card disapeared when i put in external sd card

Hi
I'm using Go launcher EX. I bought a 16GB micro sdhc card for my huawei titan u8800. When i put it in suddenly over half of my apps disapeared from the app list and in my homescreens they only showed the green loading icon. When i try to click on them on the home screen it says that the application is not installed. I think it was the apps that i had moved to the internal storage that disapeared. In the memory info it still says that the internal memory card is almost used up so it doesnt seem to have been deleted. After i took out the card and rebooted they came back after about 10 minutes. Is it any way to get the apps back while i have the sd card in?
which rom are you using? Stock 2.2.2, cm7, miui?
I am using android 2.2.1 that came with the phone.
So, you din't have an external sd card and used the internal sd to install some apps there?
When put the external sd card, the system start to use this card instead of the internal, and the apps which are installed on internal sd card are no longer be installed.
Therefore, you need to copy them from internal sd to external sd.
You need to copy the folders .android_secure and Android(if exists), and also Data(if exists too) from HWUserData folder to external sd' s root directory.
I think this will solve your problem. If this works, you can after delete these folders from internal sd.
It worked! Thank you very much! Glad i didnt have to reinstall all my applications again....

Application manager move app from device storage to sd card?

anyone can explain how apps move to sd card works on application manager? I actually moved all the apps from device storage to sd card and it does free up space from the device manager, but I don't see the moved apps located on my external sd-card, where did it go?
if so what did it move? simply only the APK file? or data was included?

It only moved apk not the data , data remains in the internal storage only
However if u are rooted u can use the foldermount app that can move the data also to Sd card
but which SD card did it move the apk files to? I thought it was to the external SD-Card, But I don't see anything moved to there when I open my external sd drive.

Apps to SD card

Hi,
I went to app info and changed the storage location from internal to SD card. However I don't think my apps went to SD card?
In the directory structure there is an SD card folder but it's in local memory.
Am I missing something? When I check the space on my SD card... All I have is my music. There are folders for the apps I transfered but they show very low space usage... Should be GBs, but they are a couple of hundred kb

Data migration to new SD card

Hi,
I'm planning to upgrade my SD card from 64GB to 128GB.
I see that Android/data folder is full of app folders. I didn't install anything specifically to SD card.
Should I ignore all those app folders or is there a way (or a need) to copy everything to new card?
Thanks!
how can we use the sdcard when installing games with obb files?..mine's running marshmallow..thanks!
