Hi,
Want to ask for those who use Nova Launcher on Note 3, does it support transparent Notification Bar without Rooting like S4?
And will Air Command work on Nova Launcher?
Thanks.
I would like to know too. I have a N3 on Verizon pre-order and use Nova with my S3

I didn't mean air gesture. I mean the new feature of s pen, where you press the button on the s pen and it will show like a half circle menu.

It won't work in the same way as the TW launcher but it's a stand alone app so just assign a gesture to open it, eg swiping up.

Thankfully it's not baked in - although I use it quite a bit.
The only things I've noticed that you can't use with third party launcher are a couple of Samsung widgets (S-Planner monthly view and the home screen clock/weather widget).

No it doesn't.
I used the rotate app to force it to display in landscape, which it did, but the layout was a mess:

Flipbord is better because you are able to select specific news sources, plus your point about synchronising across devices.
My magazine has three sections: News, Personal and Social. In terms of news you can only select categories. Edit....It does flip like flipboard so may be based on their services.
Some screen shots of available options:
Just noticed the option to create your own magazine from articles:

Alright, gave the Touchwiz launcher a few days, but I guess I just don't don't like the 4 x 4 grid in large screen phones. I'm going to switch to Nova, but wanted to know if I could retain the transparent notification bar.
Any tips on how I can keep this? Thanks.

Using Nova, black notification bar...... just wait until devs can get to theming and we'll have it back soon enough!

after using CM trebuchet launcher...I couldn't use TW for long. Nova launcher for now I guess. Black bar is fine with me... lol
It was 35 seconds after setup that TW went bye bye and Nova prime went instead. How can people work with this awful TW launcher ? Never liked it. Moved from S2 to S4 and TW on the S2 was worse. black notification bar is OK.
Other than that I love Samsung- phone , series9 laptop, Desktop wireless screen and TV. They know their sh*t with hardware, but as far as software, not my cup of tea.
There's an app called Super status bar that may alleviate that issue but I haven't played with it yet
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
You can maintain the transparent notification if you decompile the SystemUI.apk, look for res/values/drawables.xml, and change the status bar background to "000000." (The first numbers are the opacity of the status bar, so you can set them to whatever you want in hexadecimal if you want just a little shade so you can see white icons on white background)
(Again, I added a little bit of shade for my icons- this is set to 230000. If you set it to 000000, it'll be completely invisible)

Nova beta was just updated to retain the Galaxy S4 transparent notification bar. Make sure Show Shadow is unchecked under Nova Settings-Desktop. Works great!

Ahh, thought that Nova had auto updated to the latest version, which would have been the beta you were talking about, but I'm still on the stable 2.0.2 it seems.... well, once they figure out what the bugs are with having to go back and re-disable Show Shadow like you were saying, they'll put it through to a stable version - I'm not too concerned right now, I'd just like to be able to play with the notification bar to see if the theming we're working on looks alright on a transparent bar!
Yeah, it's a little buggy, but no need to go and check/uncheck. Just open and close the app drawer to get the transparency back. I'm sure they'll work it out. The Dev responded to my question about this in about 15 minutes. Very responsive.

No, when only one home screen is present there is still one indicator and it would be nice if it was gone.

May I ask why you care about a super slightly modified aosp launcher?
It has virtually no customization and adds no more functionality than we already have.
I personally can't wrap my head around why people care about this new launcher...it sucks...
On a brighter note the Nova creator is working on a kit Kat version of Nova. So yea it wont be long man. Much like the old aosp launcher Nova will be 1000 times better on kit kat too!
So have a break

Sorry for hurting your feelings pal. I gave you helpful information about a remedy to your ocd. Again the creator of Nova will be hooking everyone up with kit Kat goodness soon.
Nobody will be releasing a modified launcher with a missing indicator. Trebuchet, Nova, and Apex should provide what youre looking for shortly(fade out or no indicator). Well maybe not trebuchet, its pretty bare bones as stock.
Also the thread title is misleading...you ask for the aosp launcher. Then in your first post you're asking for a modified stock launcher.
Launcher3(the name of the aosp launcher) is available in the development forums and the app forum as well.
Try washing the sand out of your vag pal and have a kit kat

Hello.
If you have any widgets or icons on the second screen drag it to homescreen (not just swipe up to remove) the second panel will disappear.
If you don't have widgets and the second screen is empty, you have to create one widget and move it to homescreen.
I hope it will be helpful.

When you have one home screen like I do to me it looks funny. So a fading indicator would be nice. 4.3 had a fading indicator so it's not like it's anything new. Anyhow, I think it would be nice if a developer added that option if they chose to use the aosp launcher in there ROM. It would look cleaner.

here is my thoughts on this if you want something like that then take the apk apart and remove the dot png or replace it with a transparent dot. I would go to the samsung forums and look for themes that have removed the dots there and see how to do it. Great to get stuff when others have done it for you but why not try for yourself.

OK, one of the new features is the immersive mode of KitKat, in other words, control keys just disappear and yo need swipe downside up to show them.
I was using QuickPick to test this out and it is not workin. QuickPick claimes to have immersive mode. I just try KitKat easter egg and it worked.
anyone else having this issue or guide me on this?
Where is this mode you speak of?
via my slapped KIT KAT moto X
I would like to know what this means exactly as well please?! Sounds exciting!
Immersive mode is part of kitkat, certain apps can take advantage of it and it makes the button and status bar slide off screen so you have the full screen to view. To bring them back you swipe in from their respective sides of the screen
It works fine for me in quick pic you just have the open the picture first.

thats basically another feature that on any full screen with navbar hide you can pull the notifications bar down. immersive mode is about haveing notification bar and nav buttons hide as you see in youtube. the difference is that if swipe from bottom up you bring nav bar buttos ans if you swipe upsidedown you bring notification bar.

You dont enable it. Its already enabled. The developer of the app has to have the feature built into it.
This is how it looks on Google play books
FYI Theres a game called Train Crisis that uses immersive mode. I downloaded it just to test the feature out but the game actually isn't half bad. It's free so go download it and give it a whirl.

I'm not sure I haven't used the music search extension. Maybe there is a different music one that will do a better job?
The problem for me with this is that it's not that useful if you have a lock on the phone (pattern or pin). What I really want is the ability to see recent emails / messages etc on my lock screen without swiping. I know I can set the lock screen maximised to show this, but then I need another swipe just to get back to the unlock screen which is frustrating (fwp, I know!).
Or if I have the lock screen minimised, all it will tell me is the number of unread messages etc, not who they are from. So then I have to maximise the lock screen to see this info, but then I may as well unlock it anyway.
I think the only way something like this could be useful for us with a pattern lock is to reduce the size of the pattern unlock grid and show it on the same screen as the maximised lock screen. Anyone know if this can be done ?
Is it possible to have daskclock fully expanded on the lock screen? Or do you have to always pull the widget down to expand it?

I have the obviously collapsed version on my lock screen and then the expanded version on my home screen which means the full view is still only one swipe away BUT all the add ons that only work after unlocking work immediately.
Does anyone know if there is a way to resize the font?

That's something a custom rom will allow you to do and not dashclock itself. You will have to flash something if you want that feature

If you install the Xposed framework (there's a working beta out for KitKat now), install the module named GravityBox. There's an option to have maximized widgets by default. I use that for DashNotifier

Widgetlocker app replaces the default lockscreen. It allows to resize the widgets as you like.

Hello again - I've just installed the Pro version of 'Tasks' and after making a task and adding the extension to Dashclock, when I lock my phone and see my Dashclock widget it doesn't show any of my tasks?
Any ideas?

Pretty sure they have to have a reminder/alarm set...when it reminds you it should stick unless you clear the notification
Edit:

Ahhh, yeah and I guess it only reminds me of a task due that day and not 3 days from now etc... Is that right?
Thanks for showing me that though!!

XHaloFloatingWindow or XMulitWindow works with sense based roms?
Does XMultiWindow change the recent apps UI to the one stock Android has?

Didn't test MultiWindow, but Floating Notifications does and there is an option like the new Hover from PA.

No, no special setting. How do you try to activate floating mode for a specific app?

I tried MultiWindow sidebar... But it's too buggy and doesn't even close... Floatification app doesn't always work and the icon no matter what won't increase in size. Some apps then open in Floating window even when no other app is open.
Have you tried gravity box?

MultiWindow has nothing to do with Floating Mode. BTW, Floatifications never missed one event here. Did you activate the settings for your desired apps in settings of Floating Notifications?
Gravity Box has to many overlapping parts to ViperOne for me.
youtube adway

keepchat is neat!
