[Q] Installing Google Play Edition - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm new here and I'm wondering if somebody can help me with a my problem here.
I've just got a new Galaxy S4 GT-19505 on 4.2.2
The baseband is 19505XXUBMF8.
I want to install a Google Play Edition rom however none of the threads specify my baseband version, so i didn't want to go ahead and flash a rom which could potentially screw up my phone.
Is there a rom I can flash on my baseband that wouldn't be a problem?
I'm rooted and have PhilZ Touch recovery installed so it's just finding a rom that is compatible.
Thanks

Anybody?

Baseband on the i9505 cannot be flashed via recovery, only in download mode. This is why all ROMs that are flashable through recovery do not include a baseband. You can flash any ROM you like, the baseband will remain unchanged.

is the output quality of the camera the same even if the phone is running google play edition OS, ie. didn't downgrade or something?
i like to the i9500/i9505 for the camera but i hate touchwiz and all that bloat. thanks!

[Q] Should I upgrade baseband?

Hello,
New user to a Nexus 4. I have unlocked and rooted the phone, have cwm installed for my custom recovery. I am currently running MIUIv5 however I am thinking of switching to a much lighter/less bloated rom such as the latest CM.
I bought the phone factory set, I am 99% sure it had 4.3 installed but I can't be 100% sure as I had rooted the phone the rom bug hit me!!
So, to flash a 4.3 rom such as CM10.2 do I need a baseband upgrade?
Currently on: M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.84
Thanks,
Looks like you are already on the latest baseband so there is no need to flash one.
Thank you

Flashing stock recovery I9505G for OTA updates

Hey guys,
Can you help out with a newbie question.
Im running android 4.4.2 on a rooted I9505 flashed with GPE edition rom. Im currently running I9505XXUEMKF baseband on a I9505 recognised as I9505G. On meteor network in Ireland.
My problem is Id like to get OTA updates, but these fail as I have TWRP installed. As I understand it this can be overcome by reflashing the stock recovery. Is this correct?
So my question then is how to know which stock recovery to flash? & can I do a backup of the current one I have installed in case something goes wrong?
Looking at this thread in development subform. & several are listed.

[Q] Need help on AT&T Compatible Kernel

Hi,
I have samsung galaxy AT&T S4 I337, MDL baseband version.
I rooted the phone long back with Motochopper.
Last week, I installed TWRP 2.7.1.0 with "Rom Installer" app and I came to know that it is loki-fied TWRP.
I tried to flash couple of ROMs, but none of them worked except CM11. I tried foxhound ROM, Wanamlite ROM and Wicked ROM. On flashing any of these, I am getting a message "System software not authorized by AT&T is found on your phone", irrespective of whether I flash loki-doki.zip or not.
CM11 flashed fine (with out even flashing loki) and I am currently using it. My S4's firmware doesn't support call recording and I need it.
I searched the forums about the error message and I came to know that I need to flash an AT&T compatible kernel after flashing the ROM. Where can I find the AT&T compatible kernel? Can I flash the same kernel when I try different ROMs?
I installed xposed installer in CM11 and I have activated the module "EnableCMCallRecording". Does this really work?
FYI, I am able to get into TWRP recovery with out any issues when I am stuck in bootloop.
I have some knowledge about ODIN as I have used it in the past.
Thanks,
Balaji.

[Q] Recently installed 5.0 on my S4 and now I'm stuck

Basically, I lost my root when updating to Lollipop GPE on my regular S4. I didn't realize this before I deleted my backup (stupid idea I know).
I did find this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794879) which, from what I assume, I can just install and my phone will go back to 4.4.4 rooted but here is my problem. Since I installed Lollipop GPE rom on my phone the model number is now I9505G even though I originally didn't buy that version of my phone, so do I flash the I9505G rom (GPE) or the regular I9505?
If it helps, I'm with bell in Canada and I was installing jfltecan roms before this all occured.

Jfltecan is refered to the model: SGH-i337M. Try to reflash the stock ROM for your model via ODIN.

[Q] Downgrade S4 from CM 4.4.4 to Stock 4.4.2?

I searched through a lot of posts with the similar issue but none of them were quite similar to what I had in mind.
So the thing is, my Galaxy S4 came stock with 4.4.2. I installed SlimKat 4.4.4 Rom on my S4. It's great but I get the occasional "Camera Freeze" and "Camera can't connect" issue.
I wanted to go back to my stock T-Mobile stock rom. The latest version they have I believe are 4.4.2. I came across this Rom which is stock AND rooted. Google "stock rooted galaxy s4 rom", it's the first result. They said I can just flash this Rom using TWRP or ClockWork.
Can I install this tom? What I had in mind was to completely wipe KitKat from TWRP, Factory Reset, and then Install the Stock Rooted 4.4.2 rom from TWRP. Can it be simple as that or do I need to do more complicated stuff with ODIN? If so, what is the best way for me to go back to T-Mobile stock?
My device is S4-M919
Thanks

This section is for the International S4, its variants, and the Google Play Edition S4. ROMs tailor-made for your S4 can be found at the above link. In general though, if installing a ROM through TWRP, make sure to wipe data and cache before installing. You shouldn't need to use Odin at all unless you plan on rooting again and customizing the stock ROM T-Mobile provides.

I just want to reply and let everyone know that I've flashed it and it went smoothly. ClockWorkMod gave the status 7 error. So I flashed TWRP and it went perfect. Best of all, CAMERA IS FIXED !!!!!!!!!!!
