Hi,
I somehow broke my Nexus 4 motherboard in a way which I won't be able to use my usb for debugging anymore.
I have been looking for a solution and I thought about enabling ADB over wifi, but for that I need either connecting it to my PC (what I obviously can't because of what I already explained) or to having root.
So, can you please guys help me? I saw there is "framaroot" to root android devices from a single click in the device, but it is not working for 4.3 yet. Any other idea? Any suggestion? Do you think that at some point of time from now it will be supported 4.3 on "framaroot" ?
I a little desperate on this, so any idea is welcome
Thanks guys, YOU are the best!

Of course! If you have a recovery installed, you can flash files from it, right?
Just download this zip and flash in recovery. If the recovery asks you to fix anything say NO.
That way you will have rooted 4.3

Hi.
Guys. I need help. I tried changing font on my rooted Nexus. I used font installer from Play Store. After installation the app asked me to reboot the device. Now the phone is stuck on boot screen. I tried going in to recovery and wiping all the data. It did not help.
Can anyone in this community help me?

fastboot flash a recovery, and you could load a custom rom. twrp recovery has an option to push files to your phone with adb. you can push a rom to your phone then flash it in your recovery. or you can flash the stock image via fastboot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183555

Thanx Bro. My nexus is up and running now..

Today I tried fastboot and flash 4.3 stock rom on my nexus 4, root and stock rom.
For some reason the zip on "sdcard" is failing (error 7 code strange as it was full stock) letting me a stuck google boot.
I tried to wipe cache without success.
I am sure the solution is somewhere here as already said in that topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183555
But what line should I follow first? Ideally I would like to flash 4.3 or 4.2.2 without factory reset.
Any advice?
Is your boot loader unlocked?? If yes you won't loose any data if you follow the above procedure.. But if not, I think the chances of saving data are low. You can install 4.3 directly if you have the files. I updated mine yesterday using the same method.. I was on slimbeam..

Yes I am unlocked/rooted. The thing is 4.3 install fails either from sdcard or doing a sideload. I will try 4.2.2 but I am starting to worry a bit...

If you are unlocked, try this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
Download 4.3 factory image from here https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/takju-jwr66v-factory-c2ef855e.tgz.
Hopefully this should help.

I have been reading and applying more carrefully http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312 without D10. It is well writen and it is looking to be a safe and efficient to me. I even started by installing 4.2.2 again, then backup then 4.3 with the same method.
4.3 up running and rooted!
No data loss, some stuff learnt and a new backup!
If a new OTA is popping up I will look for the same method.

Hi,
I can't seem to root my new galaxy note 3. I am using an international device with 4.4.2 KitKat. During the cache.img process Odin gives an error and softbricks my device. What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks

What rooting method did you use?
Why nobody has time to state relevant info when asking for help
I don't know, maybe the same reason why people have attitude when they clearly offer no help at all.
Anyhow, I did not specify it because I did not know there were several methods. I used Odin and CF-Auto for n900 devices. Is there a more reliable way to root Kitkat devices?

You could flash a custom recovery with Odin and then flash superSU.zip in that recovery, that would get you rooted too Link cwm recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454079.

Better check the CWM site i gave you before you start flashing if the N900Q is supported, i don`t see that specific model listed in there as it is listed for Turkey only. I see support for the N900S,T,W but not Q!

I unlocked the phone using the Nexus root toolkit. I used the flash zip function in the toolkit to flash the zip file of Xposed (xposed-v79-sdk23-arm64.zip) into the phone, but now I got a message saying the unfortunately NFC service has stopped. This message keeps popping up no matter I choose Report or OK, so now I can't do anything with the phone. Anyone can help with this issue? Very much appreciated.

Could you please elaborate a bit more on this? I googled it but I didn't get a clue. When I reboot the phone, it shows the phone is corrupted. After the phone is completely rebooted, the screen shows unfortunately NFC has stopped. The message remains there no matter what I do. So how can I uninstall a zip in this case? Thank you very much.

I didn't install twrp recovery. I just used the flashed zip function in the Nexus root toolkit, which I believe (I might be wrong) says it would use twrp temporarily to flash zip files. What I did is backup the apps before unlocking the phone. I unlocked the phone and flashed the zip file of xposed.

I don't understand the issue. There is a very clear guide on how to root here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/guide-how-to-root-pure-style-t3503958. I was able to install TWRP and root with relative ease. The hardest part is just making sure you read for the details.
I successfully downgraded from marshmallow to lollipop and unlocked bootloader installed TWRP and rooted, then bypassed the factory reset protection so I could log in to Google on the set up screen.
