You didnt tell how old is your Nexus. However:
- Check your charger. Try to use another one. So easy.
- Check the mini-USB socket on your Nexus. This should be the issue in most case. Try to use a dock to charge your Nexus if available.
- May be the battery problem, if your Nexus is too old.
FYI, my Nexus 7 only takes 2.5h to be fully charged.

I bough it from. Somebody used around 2 months ago he said it was 4 months old. I have stock asus charger I use. I have no other charger. How and what. To check in mini USB socket? I i dont have a dock and can't afford one. Mine takes about 2 to 3 days to charge while off and battery. Dies out. In stand by mode. In about 3 days while wifi on only yet still screen is off

For the Mini-USB - is the cable loose? Does it move in the socket and not get a good connection? That's what was wrong with mine when I was having those issues. The cable didn't make good solid connection in the ASUS charger or in the Nexus port. I tested it with a different cable and charged fine.

change the charging cable
buy a better quality charging cable ... for me that was the problem with the slow charging

Thanks for help guys

thanks for the info, yep its in there and clicked together, still not charging properly, i think its a dead battery issue
Have you tried using a different charger or tried charging through your PC to eliminate potential problems with the plug and cable? Just a thought.

Try to jiggle the cable in certain directions such as up down left right and see if it starts to charge. If it doesn't, return the sucker.

I have found the N7 is picky with cables' the default one that comes with it works fine but doesn't seem to want to charge through my car charger.
My epic4g cable doesn't work and neither do any of my other USB cables.
Same with the charger, it has to have a dedicated live connection and no USB splitters with multiple ports.
I need like a good 4-5' USB cable to use tablet comfortably while charging.

I'm using a white 5ft cable I bought f/Amazon for my kindle fire.
ASIN: B006BGZJJ4. Item model # 53-000156
Works great on the Nexus 7 as well.

I got a six foot mediabridge cable from Amazon, very sturdy and works fine.

I am now having similar problem on 16gig. It will not charge from the power adapter at all, but will charge from a PC using same cable.
Same behavior on my alternate cable that I use for phone.

My car charger doesn't work either but my computer/tv/printer/tivo/wall/everything else works just fine... it must be a voltage issue with the car charger.
I remember reading that the charging issue some of you guys r having is a confirmed hardware problem, due to poor quality control. Asus was in such a rush to get the first few batches out that certain faults made it into a select number of batches. Other people who have had this hardware problem either could only use the Asus adapter, or that might not even work. You should try to get it replaced by your seller. I'll post the source in the morning if everyone's too lazy to Google.
Cheers
possible fix
I've read on other forums that it is the usb port. I my experience it is a intermittent connectivity or the wall wort isn't putting out enough amps. I bought an iGo Green for the iPad, put the tablet in Airplane mode and it will work fine while using it. Last night I shut it all the way down, let it charge overnight and woke up with a full battery.
Seems like only high output chargers work. All my 2.1A chargers work with Nexus 7, but lower output ones do not charge even when Nexus 7 says it's charging.

None of my 2.1a chargers work.

Just for the hell of it...... pry the back cover off and make sure the battery is firmly plugged in. This happened to mine and now all is good

My 8GB arrived Monday , 1/2 charged pluged in to the 2A charger it says its charging but the battery just drops. Turned off and left overnight and its still no more than 20% charged.
I need to find an app that shows charging
check output of charger, check cables, check charge on phone vs tab then send back to Google for a replacement grrrr
I have the same problem, how do I fix? I have the 16 gb version.
The N7 seems to be having a lot of problems with charging. A couple times when my battery has been completely dead, I have had a tough time getting it to begin the charging process. One time I watched it begin to charge, then boot up, stay on for about 20 seconds, turn off, and then not charge. I have no idea what's going on. I always eventually get it to work, but something doesn't seem right.
Remedy
Google Play telephone support had be factory reset my Nexus 7 8GB. After the reset, the battery began charging. A major nuisance having to redownload everything, but it does work. Good luck

My Nexus 7 literally takes hours to charge

My Nexus 7 battery takes forever to charge. And this is even when I use my stock cable to the wall charger. I know it takes around 3-4 hours to charge it from dead to full but for some reason mine is only HALFWAY full at the 4 hour mark and I usually have to leave it on the charger the whole night/day for it to be fully charged.
I have no other defects on this product except for this one. And I never dropped it or anything and I'm currently running 4.1.2.
Please help. I know I can't be the only one with this problem.
Definitely use the oem charger (2 Amp compared to 500-850 ma for most) and the supplied USB-3 cable. It will charge faster. After the long initial charge up to 100% mine has been charging pretty well. If I'm down around 10% it can take up to 4 hrs to charge, but the battery is huge compared to most phones. It sounds like something isn't working normally for you. Have you tried turning it off, then charging?
Yes sorry I was unclear in the original post. I'm using everything stock when I charge my Nexus 7. I don't use any other cable. And yes I completely turn it off when I'm charging but yet it still charges horribly slow.
I would test another comparable charger just to make sure it's not the charger or cable itself.
There is a lot of threads that talk about the charger and the possible ones you can & can't use (Nexus 7 is picky). I use a HP Touchpad USB plug and a cable. It does the job well :good:

I use the HP touchpad charger, Playbook charger and KFHD charger. All three of those get the job done fast.
With those three, I don't even need to use the N7 charger lol

Do you keep it on while you're charging it? If so that will definitely make it take longer to charge since it's using power.
Nope.

I keep mine on, so I can check the % on screen. And long as you don't use it while it's charging, it won't take longer.
Trust me I keep everything that I charge off so that it can charge faster and not be using any power while charging. It seems no one else has gone through this from this thread though. It sucks that I have to get a new charger when the stock charger should be still working fine and perfectly.
As far as i have read the informations on / in box. It said to use the OEM charger only. I didn't really measure time when charging, but it always took maybe 2-3 hours max to charge the device completely.
Try blowing out your micro port with compressed air, had this on my galaxy2

Charging nexus 10 with galaxy note 2 charger

OK guys I got my nexus 10 last night and I finally killed the battery thru this morning .first time charging it and instead of using the stock charger I'm using the note 2 charger .in one hour its at 20 % and I haven't touch it and the tablet is on .I have nfc turned off and wifi is still on .I also had disabled Google currents and Google + (I don't use Google +) .Is this fast ?I don't know charge times with stock charger cuz I havent used it yet

Have you tried charging the note with the Nexus 10 charger?
No but since u brought it up, I'm on it lol
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 2
I'm able to play on my nexus 10 and its charging still gaining juice however it slows it down some on gain .its acting like my galaxytab 10.1 which I didn't have problems with
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
Oh and another thing ,I don't use Google currents anymore either .its nice but I had on my old phones and THAT APP IS A BATTERY SUCKER FROM HELL !
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
OK some research ...
1.the charger is fine that comes with the nexus! It charges average. Roughly 6 -7 hours to a full charge
2. Note 2 charger is about the same with nexus charger with charging time. Maybe barely faster!
3. With original charger: I'm easily ,constently on my nexus playing videos, downloading, browsing, etc!its not hurting my charge and not decreasing any charge time. I wanna say its partial blame to a certain app called GOOGLE CURRENTS! Without disabling it, constantly runs background and killing battery. Have GPS on google maps constantly running background killing some juice.
4.nfc turned off as I wouldn't use it. I'm sure this is helping my battery
I did just get my nexus 32 gig on the second batch when they became available again on google play. Could there be a bad 1st batch considering the stuff I'm reading on complaints ,possibly. I can only compare my old galaxy tab 10.1 wifi 32 gig to my new nexus and both battery charge times about on par with each other. Galaxy tab edges out barely on time and lasting juice.
Take my observations for what it worth ...just my experience with this tab

I am just using my note 2 charger. Before I did I made sure the ratings were the same so I knew there were identical. I once tried charging my note 2 with an older charger and it was SLOW.
I've only charged the N10 once but my time from around 2% to fully charged was consistent with what had been reported as normal here.
So do the chargers for the Nexus 10 and the Galaxy Note II have the same ratings\amperage output? The reason I ask is that I have a UK Note II charger but a US Nexus 10 charger and here in Ireland the UK one works without having to go out and buy an extra adapter. I would ideally like to use the Note II charger to charge the Nexus 10 without having to go an pay for an adapter, I would rather spend the money on a nice case for the Nexus 10
Cheers,
M

Look at the Amp rating on note ii charger.
If it's 5v 2A, it's the same thing, and will charge nexus 10 equally. If it's less, it's slower.

Thanks dude, it's exactly the same Amp rating as what is on the Nexus 10 charging block so it looks like this is what I will use going forward! Could not be arsed spending money on a European plug adapter when I could spend it on a Pogo charger

[Q] Nexus 4 Charging Very Slow

I am not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I am seeing that i'll charge my phone for somewhere between 5-8 hours using the original wall charger and cable but it will not fully charge. It gets to about 70-80%. Is this happening to anyone else?
Any other details? Rooted? ROM?
My phone fully charges from 10% to 100% in about 2 hours or less
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
5-8 hours is definitely not normal. It fully charges from 0 to 100% in 3h 45min Max and even that is a little bit of a stretch. For me its more like 3hours.

Check your chaging status. If it says USB, thats your problem. Without further knowledge of your setup, I cannot advise you any further
Just happened to me, plugged into original charger before going to sleep, woke up and it shows only 80%. Plugged into Samsung charger, now up to 90% in 20 minutes.

Stock everything. It's happened about 4 nights now.
I find that sometimes my stock charger detects as USB instead of AC. You can see if it is charging that way in the battery details in the settings. When it is stuck on USB it is way slower.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yeah and if you want it to charge a little bit more faster you turn off the device
Check about phone, make sure it says Charging (AC) and not Charging (USB). If it's USB then thats the reason why, use another charger.
My stock charger that came with N4 went to USB but then for some reason, after I replugged it, it went to AC and has been AC ever since.

I was having a problem where mine, with the charger that came with it would charge very slowly, once overnight only got to 80% in ~8 he's i watched it and sometimes would not even show charging on the lock screen. I switched to my HTC one s charger and it is charging with great speed. Issue with these chargers?

[Q] anybody know where to buy the OEM 1.2 amp charger for nexus 4

I really need the stock charger I lost mine :'( ......any body know where to get one????
I got mine from buychina. Search for nexus 4 chargers and there will be 3 that look like the ones out of the box (2 prong if you're in the US). One of them is the 1.2mAh charger

You can also use a different charger.
I'm using an original Samsung charger.
Better for me cuz the stock charger makes a strange noise
i hate and won't let me sleep
You really don't need to buy an OEM charger. In fact, 1.2A is quite low for a good USB charger nowadays, you can use a 2A charger. It may not improve charging time though, only a little perhaps.
