I downloaded an older spiraling galaxy to my phone and love it....but its no longer on the market. Im trying to find the apk to export it to my Nexus 7. both are rooted and custom roms and have root explorer. I cannot locate the apk for the live wallpaper anywhere on the phone yet it runs perfectly so I know its there somewhere. found folders that even say" live wallpaper.apk and live wallpaper picker.apk but no galaxy.apk. done searches and much reading to no avail. any help would be appreciated. -Jim
If you downloaded it from the market, it's not in /system/app but /data/app, you don't need root for that.
apk file should be there.

Does anybody know where to get the default set of live wallpapers for CM5.0.7? I know you can get ripoffs in the market, but I really think the default ones are the cleanest.
Thanks for any help!
You can probably extract them from CM's Nexus One build over in the Nexus One developer forum.....
I extracted the apk from the N1 rom and it installed fine. FYI the water one doesn't work with our phones (G1), and the galaxy one doesn't seem to load. The polar clock and the grass work though.
Was really hoping to have the water one working, my mom showed it to me on her Droid last week, dope as hell.
Can you post the apk you got? Or at least point me in the direction so I can learn how to extract it myself? Thanks!
Basically all you need to extract something from a ROM is the ROM itself (as a zip file), and then a program that will let you "open" the zip without unzipping it. Personally, I use 7-zip and it has never failed me. All you need to do is right click on the ROM file and choose open under the 7zip menu.
This of course is assuming you have Windows as your OS on your PC. After you open the ROM you can browse to the /system/app folder and you have access to all the N1 apk files there. Presumably, all you need to do is copy the live wallpapers apk from that ROM to your G1 and install it. I haven't verified that this works, but it would be the way to do it.
Good luck

Excellent!
For all that are interested, I have attached the apk. Hope this is allowed.
Oh, and all the LWPs are REALLY slow....
I downloaded the simple Pong LWP from the market and it runs awesome. Its nothing spectacular but it gives me a running LWP that doesn't bog down the system.

you will need to place the live wallpaper .apk into /system/app/ and restart. either use root explorer on market or adb push from computer. if you dont know how to use adb, google it.
I did that, but the live wallpaper doesn't show up when I want to change my wallpaper.

did you make sure to remount the system read-write? if not, the apk didnt actually get placed. make sure you pull the live wallpaper apk from the version you are using.
yea, I have it on system rw. Maybe it's the apk file?
Can you send me yours?
I've recently installed the Nexus S live wallpaper in my SG3 but unfortunately it didn't work. Then I've un-installed the live wallpaper but whenever I'm going to set the live wallpaper (from Home --> wallpaper --> live wallpaper), I can still see the live Nexus S live wallpaper there (which I've already un-installed). Even if I select it, the application closes forcefully.
My phone is on the stock 2.2 but rooted. I've even used the titanium back and roo explorer to find the apk file corresponding to the that live wallpaper.
Can anyone please help me to find out the path of the live wallpaper apk file path (in phone memory or sd card) so I can manually delete the file.
Thanks in advance.
/system/app/livewallpapers.apk delete this one. use root expl
I reinstall the app and then uninstall it - by this way, the problem is solved now.
Many thanks for your help.
Hey guys,
Can someone tell me where the default wallpaper directory/location is on the Galaxy tab 10.1?
Thank you,
They seem to be located in a directory that requires root access to enter. I haven't been able to find them.
They can be found in Launcher2.apk which is in /system/app.
what do you mean it's in Launcher2.apk? for some reason i had flikie and zedge, and the pictures were there, but then i deleted them. for some reason it's not clearning when i want to select the wallpaper.
update: when i clicked on launcher2.apk..nothing happens...
I posted this in another thread but heres a link to all of the wallpapers. http://www.filesonic.com/file/1311405814/drawable-xlarge-nodpi.zip
I ran a debloater script and it removed a lot of bloatware from my S7 Edge. Unfortunately it also removed live wallpaper picker.
Does anyone know how to get it back?
I searched online and installed some APKs and put them in my system/app but nothing has worked so far.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

you can just download any samsung marshmallow rom doesn't even has to be a S7 rom and extract it somewhere. I would recommend a custom rom since they are very easy to extract. Take the Livewallpaperpicker/chooser folder and copy it in the same folder u got it from and don't forget to set the right permissions! that's very important and set it on all files that u newly copied over and then just restart ur phone! that should work 100% it's very easy and nothing should go wrong.
