Updated to 4.2.2, get no signal now - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I restarted my phone, reinserted the Sim tried everything I'm still not getting signal, anyone have this problem?

How did you update? OTA, flash ROM, etc...Have you tried SIM in a different phone? Could be a bad radio? What does your baseband say in System> About phone?

It was the official OTA
I never updated because 4.2.2 killed LTE but then I did anyways
My baseband says unknown
Edit: the 4.3 update came, I tried updating but it said error half way through wtf!!!

See this a lot, updating killed the radio. You probably don't have an imei number either.
Try flashing an official factory image.

Don't waste time with doing anything else. Flashing the factory image will not get your imei number back and without it, you will never get a signal. When you call to RMA it, be sure to tell them you lost the imei number during the upgrade process. They should have plenty of lost imei cases in the system already.

Regardless it's safe to just flash the factory update, then see where you can go from there if all fails use that as your last resort

Update 4.2.1

I have a 3g version. I have not received the OTA update. Can I update manually without destroying the 3g portion of the default kernel?
Thanks

You sure can. You can update using a Google-provided factory image. There are directions on how to do so - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796

This link says that I will lose everything. Will I have to reroot and reinstall all my apps, like starting with a brand new device? Would this hold true if I used the OTA, if I ever receive it?

If you have not unlocked the bootloader there is no way around this. If you have, I'll provide some steps to use the factory images to update without losing userdata.

Unable to hear anything in a phone call.

Hi all,
love my Nexus 4 to bits but in the past few days I have not been able to hear anything whether I am making or receiving a phone call.
thought it might be a hardware issue but Viber and other apps is working...
i factory resetted the phone but it has not resolved the issue since...
add to the pain LG is refusing to have it serviced in Singapore.
could it be the update to 4.2.2 from 4.2.1 that is causing the problem?
have googled but no one seems to having same issues like me.
R: Unable to hear anything in a phone call.
Flash the stock ROM image.

I did that. They said go back to stock rom and then flash again. I'm do nandroid back to stock then see if comes back.
Okay nandroided back to stock and still no network mode option. Honestly i don't remember seeing that before I even rooted. So maybe an Odin flash to stock could help other then that I'm not sure but according to status bar it's says 4g lte good enough for me
I also noticed my phone doesn't say galaxy s 4 when I power it on anymore just says Samsung with the custom lock
That's because your bootloader is unlocked and/or system and firmware status is custom.

That's why you flash a stock rooted MF9 ROM if you want to be on the latest and rooted.

S4 rebooting as soon as I boot it!?
Hi!
So I followed Djembeys guide to root my s4 back when ME2/MF2(or smthn in that matter)was the newest firmware avable. But now I wanted to go back to stock and update my phone and as stated in the guide that would be no problem, well OTA didn't work so i did it via Kies. It worked as expected for a while before my phone started freezing and rebooting itself forever, like as soon as i get into the launcher.
Things I've tryed to do:
*Checking in download mode that everything is official, it is, and the phone doesn't seem to reboot while in download mode, should I flash a stock rom, I mean, what if the phone shuts off in the middle of the process?
*Doing a factory data reset via stock recovery, the "android" in recovery falls down and a triangle at his stomach. However the data reset worked, but it didn't solve the problem, still reboots but now when the phone is trying to set itself up.
What can i do guys? You think i can send it back to the store seeing everything is official in download mode?

[HELP] no in-call sound

I have a friend who has an N4 8GB, after the update to 4.3 from 4.2.2, the in-call sound dissapeared.
After tinkering with it, while unrooted, we found out that the phone is thinking the earphones are alway connected, even though they are not.
We downloaded an app that disables the earphone jack and it worked, but what a crappy workaround.
So, is there a fix for this? It was working on 4.2.2... I want to fix this while still being unrooted and stock.
I can give details if required.
more:
-baseband and bootloader got updated automatically to the latest.
-build number is JWR66Y, i saw people factory resetting their phone but it didn't solve that issue, so I'm guessing downgrading to JWR66V?

RMA it if it doesn't work after flashing the factory images because I don't know what else you could do. Flash everything together all over again too. Flash the bootloader then restart boot loader. Flash radio then restart Bootloader and then finally flash the system
