Exactly the same here - camera starts much faster too (seems to).

The screen looks better for me.. Maybe that's placebo though?

Is the screen flickering fixed? Also, can this be flashed with root untouched? I don't have experience with locked bootloader devices. ^-^"

Why cant Sony just issue release notes with New firmwares instead of leaving us to search/guess at what improvments have been made?

New firmware (10.1.1.A.1.307) certified for the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL!

Sony is following up the recently launched 10.1.1.A.1.253 firmware for the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL with another update. Firmware build 10.1.1.A.1.307 has just been certified for the Xperia Z (C6602, C6603) and Xperia ZL (C6502, C6503, C6506) on the PTCRB website.
The ’253′ Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean update brought a number of improvements including the white balance app for the Xperia Z, UI changes and camera/performance enhancements. We expect the latest ’307′ update to bring some bug fixes and could be one of the last updates before we see Android 4.2.2 make an appearance.

Hi anjath
I use Kasperky mobile security, you can lock, wipe, locate, and even take a mug shot of who's using your phone, got a free copy with the desktop version, bargain!

Didn't get it with my unbranded one. It's still provided as beta version in Scandinavia. But here on XDA the apk is available and you can use it in every region.
Installed it today. You can locate your phone, lock it with a four digit pin and a note for the person who found your phone and use an alarm to find it.

If Z1s can boot with C6903 14.1.G.1.534 (which has CVE-2013-6282 exploit) flashed, you can root with rootkitXperia, then install recovery and update to 14.2.C.0.159 with flashable zip.

Read some reports of international firmware bricking the z1s. I'll probably try this weekend when I have time to go get a replacement if I hard brick lol.
Just posted the z1s tft in nut's thread in case someone else is feeling adventurous. The tft is untested as of yet, but should work..
Sent from my C6916 using Tapatalk
It's a vendor-locked model, like the Z1 C6906, T-Mobile just contracted Sony to do a special version (hence the s in Z1s). It's basically a cheaper version of the C6906, which even makes more sense if you look at the model number:
C (Model Line)
6 = Screen size, not literal but in resolution, the 6 is Full HD.
9 = Model revision (Which at 9 concludes the C line)
0/1/4 = 0 is Sony base version, anything else is VENDOR special (Like the C6943 with it's TV viewing features)
2/3/6 = Supported network type, where 2 is HSPDA/3G, 3 is LTE/4G and 6 is VENDOR CHOICE
Sony still handles the Z1s as a Z1 with it's model number: C6916.
The Z1s still is a Z1, plain and simple.
@[NUT], thanks for detailed information. Now I know that's the same phones. But look at Arc and Arc S section. Same phones with 1ghz and 1.4 GHz and moderators of XDA made for them separately sections. Now moderators should done the same. Z1 section and Z1s section.

You where right, but not too long after they discovered the differences where too small, they merged them again.
Really, the extra s in the name does not warrant a new forum section... but ultimately it's up to XDA to decide, not us.
With realizing this point: if they do, the mods can move the threads on the Z1s model to those forums anyway
Thread cleaned... Let's keep things on track from now on thanks guys.

Yeah, T-Mobile's bloat is just plain obnoxious.
I have question for you guys... Is there is any tracker like on Galaxy phones when rooting? T-Mobile's jump program is nice, so if we can cover our tracks like a Triangle Away, that would be cool. Also, for a locked bootloader phone, there's no way of covering that up once bypassed, right?

Here in Norway we get the Smartband SWR10 when buying Z2, with every provider as far as I've seen. But we can also buy it seperatly for 100 dollars.
Ask for the apk in Android General thread. Its one of the most popular threads on XDA. There are tons of restricted apks there. The rule is, free only, per XDA rules.

Do you know how it tracks you movement? How does it know you drive/walk/run? I get the walk/run because you run faster, but if you're stuck in traffic it might think you are walking..

My smartband wont be here until Friday so I can't be certain but if it's similar to other sensors it depends on motion. Driving will sometimes show up as steps but it's reasonably accurate. If I set the car to firm suspension I get a lot more steps!
