This will not help get the locked phones unlocked. It is more complicated than this.
I'm referring to finally having the option to flash ROMs and such, I remember my droid x had a locked bootloader but we could flash

You will get that with safestrap or some other method but that bootloader will stay locked even with that released.
Gotcha, that's cool, this phone is worth it even if it stays locked. Thanks for the replies

EDIT:UPDATE: A new quote from their Twitter. "I have confirmed we allow phones w/ unlocked bootloaders to be activated on our network. Sorry for the misinformation."
I saw this and at first I was gonna laugh, but when I thought about it, the guy has no clue. There are already phones with unlocked bootloaders on verizon. So I think maybe they mean no phones will be sold unlocked, but what you do to them after that is your business.
They guy that posted that tweet probably doesn't even know what a bootloader is.
big V just butthurt that they wont have as much power over htc phones
^ all of you are probably correct.
Both the Charge & Revolution are unlockable (unencrypted).

in fairness I did its in general meaning its doesn't necessarily have to do with anything EVO
I guess every sub gets one of these threads.
Evo 3D links back to XDA http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...ve-an-unlocked-bootloader-one-way-or-another/
From @VZWSupport:
Correction>> You CAN activate your HTC device with an unlocked bootloader on our network, we apologize for the confusion.
@grfullerton You are correct. If the bootloaders are unlocked, it does not prevent them from being activated on the Verizon network.*MS
So, I was reading up a forum bout how Motorola's bootloader is locked, and the thought came across my mind..... Sony's bootloader can be unlocked, why cant the Motorola phones be unlocked too?
I know someone who has a Sony Neo with unlocked bootloader who flashes different kernels to get wicked overclock speeds

Is anyone working on this yet?
You should ask MOTO why don't they unlock our bootloader.
> why cant the Motorola phones be unlocked too?
Because of *****n Moto. I'm just mad that bootloader is still locked, even after Moto "joined" Google. Google promised, that they will provide optional unlock for all their phones...

you must be new to moto realm
This is the main reason i got a SII to be my primary phone, custom kernels are amazing.
But i still keep my milestone 2, its still a good phone.
i just received mi atrix from moto and they have loaded with new frimware.
there is no recovery anymore and impossible to unlock
is there any solution?
thank you
As far as i know you still have stock recovery. The new bootloader is not able to unlock at the moment so you can not put a custom recovery on it. I got a new atrix as a replacement recently and have the same problem. Good luck
why is it impossible to unlock the new bootloader?
is someone working on it or will we never get an unlocked bootloader?
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app

Yea the same happened to me a few months back when I sent my phone to moto for replacement. I was really hoping for ics to fix that because we would all be on the same software and therefore have more developer support. But now that moto kill the update, im not sure we will be able to unlock our bootloader and run custom software.
Tried ome relock code does not work. Anyone got a fix for this on how to lock boot loader back up. Also can this be remain unlocked and rooted and still get android 6 and marshmallow on it or needs to be locked back up as stock has come out final firmware?
no chance brother . only what can do,flash a stockrom over fastboot.
So installing stock Rom should relock boot up? Is boot and root needed with the ofical update and including to use dual sim option ?

I am wondering if currently anyway to unlock the bootloader on this version. If not, is there a way to rollback to an older version and then unlock it?

For starters, you cannot downgrade without an unlocked bootloader. Chicken and the egg :cyclops:
See the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-m/general/guide-faq-how-to-root-boot-unlock-t2869432
KITKAT 182/183.46.10 FIRMWARE ONLY.
WILL NOT WORK ON THE 182/183.46.15 RAZR M FIRMWARE OR THE MOTO LUGE.

You appear to have the "unlockable" version, so read the thread above.
If not, there is always the "Sunshine" app (ie pay to unlock).

You mean I can't unlock it.

Also I know you can install Safestrap I'm just having a b*tch of a time finding it and it may be of some use.
