[Q] Stuck in Bootloop, tried everything. - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I just picked up this phone today from Verizon. Rooted successfully and tried installing TWRP via Flashify. Now I'm stuck in TWRP and can't even get Download Mode to come up. I've tried wiping, using the scripts in both ADB and TWRP, and LG Factory reset. Please, if anyone has any other ideas. I would be grateful!

I'm guessing you clicked "install boot img" instead of "install recovery img" in flashify, correct?
Hold the power button down until your phone is off. I mean, you're going to be holding for 15-20s. The LG logo will flash on, then go back off pretty quickly. After that your phone is off. Then, you should be able to get into download mode by holding the vol. up arrow while plugging a USB cable into the phone. Follow the "return to stock" guide of your choice and don't click install boot img next time you try to install TWRP.

I think you're right. I'm finally going to give it a shot now. I was on the road but thanks a million. I will report back on results.

can somebody help? stuck on boot logo

i install the paranoid android rom on my nexus 7 and now its stuck on the bootanimation of the paranoidandroid rom i didn't wipe the data but i did wipe the caches so if somebody can tell how to get out of it i will appreciate the help I'm new to this thank you
Hold on the power button (I believe) to turn it off and go back to recovery and re-wipe and reflash. It happened to me once. Or wait till the battery dies.
Hold down the volume up (might be down, can't remember) and power button down at the google screen. Then the screen should go black, quickly hold down all three keys (up, down, and power) and it should bring you to recovery mode. :good:

Hi. Have the same problem. When trying getting into recovery mode, nexus stuck on google logo. Please help. I don't know what to do.
Ran into the same thing and now fixed
I had the same problem and finally figured out (I think) that it was because I was installing the ROM and the gapps at the same time. I installed just the ROM and then booted. Then rebooted to recovery and installed the gapps.
1. Hook it up to the computer.
2. Shut it off. Hold power. Then hold Power and Down till at the bootloader screen.
3. Flash recovery "fastboot flash recovery recov_filename.img". I used the zip from thread 1837401 on these boards to get fastboot and clockwork recovery.
Sometimes have to do this 2x if won't run through. If it sits doing nothing, go down in the menu and reboot bootload and then rerun the command before touching anything on the GN7.
4. Go into recovery, flash PA and reboot. After got in and running, reboot and install gapps.
5. Enjoy the awesomeness!
LOL you have to wipe the data. use tib to get your stuff back. Wiping the cache is a meaningless gesture if you haven't wiped the data. If you had followed the instructions in the rom thread, there would be no problem for you.

How to boot into TWRP recovery mode from Phone OFF state

I cannot figure out how to boot into recovery from phone off state. If I go to ROM Toolbox pro and reboot that way into recovery, then it works fine, but NOT from phone off state. Thanks.
Press/hold vol down + press/hold power will get you to the bootloader, then select recovery from there.

Did you "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" or "fastboot boot recovery.img"?
Got, it. Reinstalling recovery from Goomanager, worked. For whatever reason, my recovery was repalced or gone.

When I try installing TWRP from GooManager it just says it will download but it never does and then after a while the app shuts down. I tried flashing clockwork mod recovery from Rom Manager and it downloads all the way and than says that a problem occured. Can somebody please help me with my situation. When I press the power button and the volume down button and it brings me to the bootloader and i navigate to recovery, it just brings an android guy with a red triangle. please help me. I just want a custom recovery. I don't care what it is. Either TWRP or clockwork mod.

Hello forum peoples. Recently I have tried to flashthe paranoid android firmware using flasherfy. I have twrp installed but idk if I was supposed to do with it. My phone is now in a boot loop because of my attempted flash. Please help me fix this. I am able to boot into both firmware update mode and factory reset mode. For the factory reset mode I am able to boot into the reset mode but as soon as I try to wipe it just reboots again. I have tried to use the lg firmware update tool using com5 and com41 and using both they stop at 49% and the phone just disconnects from the program/computer. Help Please! !
EDIT: I have an lg g2

For stock recovery, yes you'll see that screen. On that screen all you have to do is press power button and then press volume up (just one quick press) and it will take you into recovery menu.

[Q] Problem when attempting to flash TWRP

Hello,
I rooted my phone with no issues. Then when preparing to get TWRP on my phone I was setting up ADB via this tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XslKnEE4Qo8
and got the phone to be recognized as device in the cmd window, but when doing the adb reboot bootloader step, the phone just reboots to vzw logo and then the home screen. After being stuck at that step I tried this method http://androidfannetwork.com/2013/09/18/twrp-recovery-available-for-lg-g2-att-and-verizon/ using flashify but after flashing and hitting the reboot button my phone wouldn't turn on and thought I bricked it until I waited a few and then had to hold the power button down for 15 seconds and it turned on. But now I can't get to the white screen reset menu (Stock recovery menu?) using the power+vol down method. Is my stock recovery borked? Any tips on how to get twrp on my phone, hoping it installs over the broken stock recovery. Thanks in advance for reading this.

[Q] Black screen after autorec

I everyone, i just aquired this awesome phone.
I rooted it with towel root and everything goes fine.
Then i installed autorec and chose to reboot in recovery.
All goes well and then in twrp i chose to reboot system.
Now after the LG logo i have a black screen with the notification led activated.
i can't go back to recovery neither
Looks like ur in a boot loop. If you cant go to recovery, I suggest you go to download mode and restore to stock rom via the KDZ method.

Can only vouch this post. Absolutely solid advice.
Keep pressing the power button till it powers completely off, then press the volume up and plug the phone into the computer. Then follow get back to stock guide.

Moto g5 plus twrp not sticking

When I go to put the official twrp on it doesn't stick after reboot. before reboot I can't flash anything either like magisk. Nothing shows inside the folders and after I reboot and go back to twrp it shows no command
Me too. I've flashed twrp-sanders and also twrp-potter. The phone will never boot into twrp recovery on its own. Also, when I fastboot boot recovery from PC, either version of TWRP loads splash screen but is frozen and requires a hard reset.
The phone is unlocked as it indicates this on boot up.
Only once after the first attempt of flashing twrp-sanders recovery did the phone boot into twrp recovery and I flashed Magisk from there. Since then, no dice
Any ideas or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Got it to finally work. I started over by flashing "twrp-sanders-r2.img".
Make sure the first thing you do after flashing the recovery is to push volume button until you see the recovery option. Then press power button to select it. It will take several seconds before you can interact with the program.
I made sure I had the magisk.zip ready to flash first thing I did.
If you don't go to recovery immediately after flashing the twrp, you'll have to start over.
I hope this helps
