Hi all, really need your help. 2 weeks ago I bought this device, before never used android. 3 days ago by connecting it to a computer, the Kies software has given the message
"that there is a new version", I agreed, and then device as if replaced, it start to work slowly stucking on some screens, such as phone book or phone itself, it gives a strange message, that he had to stop the work of a program. Then I tried to solve the problem, but everything i did not fixed the issue, I even think that made it worse. I did the following things.
I tried to root device, did it as it was written on some site, after a Odin has finished, I found SuperSu program, but SuperSu wrote that the binary ihe s not installed, checking the Root, no root access. 2 Performed Data factory reset twice did not helped, Performed to flash again the latest official firmware, but also did not helped, the problem not solved, Uninstall SuperSu. no longer know how else to help themselves, need professional help.
Please write me what should i do? how can return the previously firmware, or how to root it correctly and install new Rom.
My device is Galaxy S4 i9505 T-Mobile Germany version.

Hi
I currently have the mh9 stock version with Knox . Theoretically can I change to the Google edition official ROM+root and still keep my warranty status 0x0 by doing the following steps?
1. Firmware initialization via kies(or restore in system settings)
2. Root the phone
3. Install custom recovery with odin
4. Install the GE ROM

Hi, I am a total noob in the area of updating my Note 3, so please guide me.
I want to update my Note 3 with the official firmware of Poland through Kies or Odin ( I know how to do that)
But one thing I'm afraid of and don't know is whether I will lose all my data (apps OR Phone data) if I update through Odin or not?
Just a note, I am trying to keep my Note 3 totally unrooted, untampered with in any other way. So will updating through Odin also increase my Knox number?
Thanks.
Best regards

Via ODIN will wipe your data/factory reset. -- Via KIES off the top of my head I cannot remember as it's been a while since I used it.
Official firmware will not trip your KNOX, and has been confirmed safe also/

You 100% need the new bootloader for it to work and even boot properly, and you will lose root. MOP won't work.
Anyone thinks android 4.4.2 can be falshed with mop, keeping 0x0 root and it will start withthe old bootloader?

Just wait until the right 4.4.2 ROM is available in your Country and flash it with Odin. Make sure you got the samsung driver installed! In Odin just check F.TIME RESET and AUTO REBOOT and choose in PDA your downloaded ROM.
(Maybe after that you have to make a "factory" reset under the settings in your Note3
My god!
My last phone was Sony Xperia S, and to do a clean install all i have to do is to say to the software update that i want a clean install...
I am a litle scare right now... dont know what is odin...
Just wait for ota to arrive, install it and afterwards go to settings, general, back-up and restore and do a factory data reset. Make sure you have a backup of things you need afterwards.

If you scared I recommend you that you don't do it. It's possible to hard brick your phone.
Also you have to check bootloader update in Odin, otherwise your phone gets a bootloop.
Don't try this if you not know what you are doing!!!
Also you can't step back to an earlier rom if you flash the the official 4.4.2 version cause bootloader is locked and atm there are no solutions for that.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yip if you are scared to do it. Don't. You need to read up and read some more. Playing with firmwares is tricky and you can ruin your phone.

Just download the 4.4.2 the Official from Poland,Do a Factory Reset /wipeDATA/Cache
Then go to Download mode, open ODIN 3.07 and start.

If you flash XEO Official version, your data stays intact and nothing gets lost. -- IF you have a Hong Kong variant don't flash this at all.
EDIT:: You seem very very unsure, I'd advise you don't do it. Because you will be straight back here if you mess up.
Hello everyone,
I have Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 and using CyanogenMod's installer version a few months now.
CyanogenMod's installer has A LOT of problems and I had enough of it and want to go back to stock.
Before I moved to CM I had 4.3 and also Knox bootloader so it went to 0x1 after CM's installation.
I want to ask can I go to stock 4.3 even that my Knox is 0x1?
Do I need to use TriangleAway? If so, how?
I understood that TriangleAway requires Samsung's official kernel but I have the kernel of CM now.
Anyway, what do I need to do?
Thanks in advance

Find your stock rom specifically the one that is your region. If your phone is for example like mine, i9500 XSE which is the first three letters of Indonesia then get that specific stock file.
It's probably around 1.4 gigs. It downloads very slow. After that open Odin flash the stock rom, and your good to go. I've bricked numerous times and all I've done was revert back like this. No problems.
I don't know if you can put the stock rom in your custom recovery and flash it there, I haven't tried it yet just run Odin in administrator mode, insert the stock rom, go into download mode on your phone by pressing - vol and power, then click start.
Wait.
Stock.

I may be wrong on this one but, if you use the auto CF root method I don't think there's a way to use the triangle method.
Therefore you're stuck on Knox. I could be wrong but I'm leaning on 70% being right..

I guess the binary counter is hidden somewhere. And for updates you can get OTA kies updates if you are havin stock recovery. One last thing Triangle away doesnt supports I9500.
All the best.

Also, Kies works with my device again and recognizes it.

Yes it says official but your knox counter might be already 0x01. If so, you won't be able to update your device via Kies anymore. You can always download the updates anyway.

But when I connect my phone to Kies it does recognize my phone and says I have the latest firmware and it doesn't shoe any sign that I won't be able to update through it.
I think you're mistaken with the binary counter. If the binary counter wasn't 0 and showed custom in download mode and settings only then I couldn't update via Kies.

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum but have read many things on it and have gotten lots of help, but this question NEEDS a new thread!
I have been using my International Galaxy Note 3 (9005) for about 9 months, I bought it from Kogan in Australia and just recently I decided to root it using CF-Auto Root and then flash X-Note build 18.
A couple of days ago I decided that I didn't like X-Note that much so I tried and flashed Omega Rom. That all worked fine but I didn't really like any of the custom Roms and I just wanted to go back to stock.
So I download (for the first time) the newly released KitKat Australian SM-N9005 Firmware from SamMobile and tried to flash it through Odin straight over Clockwork mod recovery and over the Omega Rom that I currently had installed. When it finished it said that it had failed and something about the Ext4 not being valid, I was shocked (his had never happened to me before with Odin).
I no longer could boot into recovery and the phone said to plug it into Samsung Kies 3 and do an emergency recovery, So i plugged it in and it said that the device was not recognized, and it would not show up in the device list within the emergency recovery window.
So I did a lot of Googleing and came to the conclusion that It was probably the N9005 Australian Rom not being compatible. So after all of these errors and such I booted back into download mode and tried to install one of the other Kitkat Official firmwares that had worked fine before.
It installed just fine and Odin said reset and I unplugged it. but when it booted for the first time I was getting boot loops continually and when and now as I just start to go through the setup process the interface lags and it flashes black a few times and says I have no Sim card in (Which I DO!) and it restarts several times and IS ALL OVER THE PLACE!
It also takes about ten seconds or more after pushing the power button in to get the display to display again and it is unusable and behaving all weird.
The first few times I flash the stock firmware on it through Odin, it remembered my wallpaper, which is really weird seeing I factory reset it!
My best guess is that Flashing it through Odin and and factory reseting it is just not completely clearing it/wiping it and the system is all messed up and stuff is left over.
I don't no WHAT to do!!!! I can't even use it and it's driving me crazy can somebody, please help me!!!!
Thank you!
Look in to omega rom which version of android base it's used, flash same version of stock rom, may not available for Australian but u can flash other countries stock rom, try this & good luck.

Hi why would I have to flash the same android base as omega and what actually is Android Base?
Also will this fix it and how do I check the android base?
Thanks
If omega rom has higher bootloader version, it will not allow to downgrade if Australia stock firmware version is lower, to find out of version u must look at omega rom u flashed.

Should I try a 'Mega Wipe' to completely format it? - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2501577
And I was just reading something about no signal and IMEI, I have no signal and it says no sim card, does that mean I've lost my IMEI forever??
When I was installing x-note I thought EFS backup meant a CMR full backup

I recently rooted my Galaxy S4 using the Towel Root method. but a week ago or so while driving ATT forced an update and updated to the new version. The problem is I do not have Root active, but I can't use certain apps due to getting a message saying that they can't be used on a Rooted device. I am not sure how to remove this odd state I am in. What is it that you really want - to regain root or to unroot?
1. To regain root - read the root section of All Things AT&T thread
2. To unroot
a. Without losing data -- I am not sure exactly how to do this
One way would be to re-root and then unroot using the superSu app.
b. With losing data -- Oding NB1 stock and update to latest. Follow Return to Stock
I would like to have it go back to unrooted status. I was hoping for a data safe method. But at this point whichever will work. I am assuming i'll have to root, then unroot. But I didnt know if this causes problem as apps believe it to be rooted but the system says I am not.
I'm having the same dilemma
I rooted my s4 using towelroot. Later att forced an update to 4.4.2 which i thought wouldn't work because it was tooted. But it actually did work and updated. Now the phone is not rooted but it seems that there are some files that are still somewhere that pretty much makes it be partially rooted but with not real root access. Now that the next update is being forced by att for version 4.4.4 it doesn't work. It stores installing at 27% with a failed message. I uninstalled towel root and super user but with no success. I whiped the partition and no success. I did a factory reset which i thought it would work and remove the files that maked look rooted and no success. What should i do exactly to unroot it?

You would have to Odin the nb1 tar file, it's the only version that exists. Then ota to 4.4.4, nj4. Any version of Odin works. It will wipe your device and you'll have to start over setting it up.
