+1 ! It was a good price also! 689.50!!! Cheaper than TMO! I'm on straight talk (at&t)...pumped: :highfive:
rooted, recovered, and rebooted from the ol' i777.......

Not many people are aware of this but att actually provides unlock sim codes up to 5 a year. I believe you just have to be in good standing with them for like 3 months or something close to that. Just call them up, they'll either do it over the phone or direct you to a website to submitt a request. I called them up recently to get the sim unlock for my gs4. After a few minutes they gave me the code. Now as soon as I get my note 3, I can sell my s4 as an unlock.

I am currently on a non-contract ATT plan. I ordered the Note 1 and it worked fine on tmobile and then ATT. I pre-ordered the Note 3 from handtec.co.uk. I am hoping to have it by Friday. Ideal: it should be shipped tomorrow 1-2 day FedEx. Hope that helps.

Even putting aside the bad English, your question does not make any sense. "unlocked" refers to GSM network only feature, called carrier lock or network lock. There is no such thing as "LTE unlocked" or any type of unlock for CDMA network, such as VZW

IS AT&T SGSIII carrier-locked when paying for the full price?

I'm attempting to buy the AT&T SGSIII with the full price since it's probably the cheapest you can get among all the options.
As I am going to use it on Rogers network in Canada, I would like to know if it's carrier-locked even i pay for the full price???
I know Android phones are pretty easy to get unlocked. I just don't want the hassle.
I plan on driving down to the Seattle this upcoming weekend and nail one!!! Cannot wait anymore!
Even if you get it without commitment, the device will still be locked. AT&T won't unlock it for about six months (I don't know the exact length). Why not just try cellunlocker.net? It unlocked my phone in thirty mins. It's just 25$ so give it a try

Wow..... 6 months.... So, if i get it unlocked through cellunlocker.net, and I flash back to the factory setting and have AT&T unlocked it for me 6 months later?? Will they still honor the warranty??
Sorry for my noob question. Coming from iPhone and not quite familiar with American carrier.
AT&T says they have a 6 month period when they have exclusivity on the phones, but they obviously don't have exclusive rights in the US. Also, they've been unlocking iPhones that were purchased outright, so you can use that to your advantage.

Once you do a sim unlock, it's unlocked forever. No need to get a code from AT&T when it's available.
AT&T is interested in selling phones for it's network, not selling to people looking to sell or take them somewhere else.

HTC One Dev Edition // preorders start 04/05

http://pocketnow.com/2013/04/05/htc...&utm_campaign=Feed:+pocketnow+(pocketnow.com)
All infos in there.
Love that they are getting these out early I know a number of US devs have said they will only pick up the dev version, not a carrier one.... so yay
I preordered the AT&T version but thinking about changing to this. Will the AT&T version get roms (like CM10) or will it be too difficult for devs? Also, does the AT&T version have any AT&T branding on it!?
Am I the only one who can't find the link to the phone? It keeps showing phones sold now by Sprint, etc

It's also not 10am EST yet. May have something to do with whether or not it shows up in their system.
I'm going with this one because of the great price(64gb) and unlocked bootloader.
I cancelled my preorder with handtec, worth the extra 1 week wait.
I wish I could get this in Canada
Does anyone know about the international warranty status of the Dev Edition?
Anything different from regular warranty?
I'm really on the fence here. I love the idea of owning a limited edition dev phone from HTC, but I don't really need 64GB of storage and the price just seems unreasonable right now since there's the $100 trade in offer and free accessories form AT&T and T-Mobile when you pre-order through them.
I really need someone to clarify this for me. Does Dev phone will get HSPA+/4g and LTE or it will only get 2g and LTE in some area?

how does the preorder work? do they charge your card for the full amount or preauthorize a small amount and then charge the rest when it ships?
So where are they? They just added the sprint and Tmobile versions to the HTC US Sales site. No dev.

That my friend is a bold-faced lie. No locking is done without a key available to unlock it. They just don't want to share.
Att can definitely unlock it they just choose not to. Regardless I got mine unlocked today with cellunlocker.net took about 15 minutes and cost $24.99. Got my GS4 on T-Mobile for now.

Further proof that the unlock code is available!
I was at AT&T. We looked up the information while in the store. If you sign the 2 year contract they will give you the unlock code after 3 months. If you pay full price and go prepaid service you have to wait 6 months before they will give you the code. I read it right from the AT&T's sales reps. tablet.

I've read several accounts of people who recently bought an Att phone at full price and with no contract who where able to unlock their phone through Att. You really have to be vigilant. I just ordered an s4 from amazon and will try to unlock it tomorrow to use with my T-Mobile sim.

Well I got lucky and ordered the Dev edition on HTC's site before they pulled it down. I did however receive a cancellation email. I called back and they put it back in, (had an issue with my bank) and she even waived the overnight shipping for me. Said it will ship next week. The only thing is, order status says shipping today.
One question, Anyone know if the Dev Edition will work with AT&T LTE?

The Developer Edition is based directly off of the AT&T SKU of the phone. This means it's only fully supported by AT&T's network, and no others.
Edit: I ordered mine while it was still up also, but it got cancelled and I couldn't re order. A few users have talked to HTC, and they've said the Dev edition will ship on 4/3 so I'm pretty sure that's when it will happen. You got lucky though, they weren't that nice to me XD
Anyhow, I ordered one from Amazon at the above link with prime overnight shipping, so I truly hope it comes relatively soon. They won't charge me until it ships, though, so that's nice.
Thanks... I canceled my Google play edition and ordered the developer edition gunmetal color. Ordered with next day prime shipping, with Amazon's awesome customer and return policy I prefer to buy from them instead of HTC or Google.

Yes I read that somewhere too, that the DE is more or less a gimmick and not as fully unlocked the moniker suggests. If that's the case, then the unlocked edition is fine and I would save myself the the extra $50 over the GPE..

If that's not a problem then get the DE. I myself rather pay the 50 extra and know I have 4g/LTE wherever I go.

The unlocked version is the same as the DE. Just doesn't have a unlocked boot loader to flash freely as DE. It's still doesn't have the right Band to give you 4g/LTE everywhere.

OK so here's what I know:
The HTC One M8 Google Play Edition is fully unlocked, and fully supports T-Mobile and AT&T in the USA.
The HTC One M8 Developer's Edtion has the exact same bands as the AT&T model, so it is fully supported by them only. It, too, is fully unlocked, but it doesn't have the AWS band for T-Mobile. Both of these phones are usable overseas, however, and this is why there's an advantage over a carrier version.
There has been no official word on the specs/compatibility of an unlocked non-developer version yet, so I can't comment there.
Lastly, the reason the GPE, Dev, unlocked, and 32GB carrier versions are delayed is that the 32GB phone isn't technically out yet.
There's most of what I know about the situation as of now.

I got a Nexus 6 straight from Sprint, and I'm using my Verizon sim. The Verizon sim actually works better. I only have data with my sprint sim I can't send or receive texts or make or receive calls. I get a message cannot validate you account when trying to make a call. Everything works flawlessly with my Verizon sim.

Not to sound like an advertisement but I got my att model from bestbuy sim locked and used Cellunlocker to unlock it.
as of this moment, onlty att locks the sim. people are speculating if verizon will also do this, but its only att at the moment.
Another nod for Sprint being unlocked. I just put my N6 that I got 2 days after it hit the Sprint shelf on Tmobile and it rings for incoming calls again. Sprint has network issues and I got tired of missing calls and having cust service always start out with "factory reset your phone." My note 3 had the same issue on Sprint. 15 mins for Tmob to setup the account and put the sim in. 0$ and a better plan price to boot.

my experience with Verizon's version of the Galaxy Nexus left a bad taste in my mouth. I will be very very hard pressed to ever buy a verizon branded phone ever again. they do get my money though. That I don't mind paying for because I have signal everywhere I go and the legacy unlimited data plan.
The carrier locks aren't really a big deal in any case. $20 and you can get it unlocked at any number of cell unlocking sites.
Would rather it not be locked at all, but isn't that big of a deal....

As of today, if you are not under contract with the carrier that the phone is locked to, or owe them money due to an EIP, they have to unlock the phone.

I'm not sure you read my post correctly, as that's what my post pertained to. Contracts, EIP, or if they bought the phone outright from AT&T etc.

it's still wrong information, mine is with a contract through sprint, it's still fully unlocked, I can put any sim in and I'm good to go, t-mobile was the same way, at&t was the only one that did a lock and we still have yet to find out about verizon
HELP
im looking to purchase an AT&T Nexus 6 from clist TODAY to use on Sprint. I got a sprint nano sim and was wondering if i can activate it. I heard you give sprint the IMEI number without the last digit or something. Has anyone done this? Anything i should know? im searching and googling and havent gotten a solid answer before i drive an hour to meet this guy. thanks in advance

AT&T are the only ones that are carrier locked, unless it was purchased outright or paid off, I would really double check with whoever you're buying it from and have them meet you at a sprint store to actually check everything out before you commit
