Best galaxy s4 camera app from play store - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

What is it? Most camera apps on the play store don't use the highest resolution and full screen like the stock one does.

If you are referring to stock TW, its widescreen "full screen" is not highest resolution, it is 9 mp to make it "full screen".

I don't know much about cameras.
I use Pro Capture and like it well enough.
It doesn't not do "full screen"?
But it does take 13MP pictures.

There is a free one also. Somewhere.

To get around that you pay the developer.
seriously, why not support a developer. if you are not happy with your app purchase, ask for a refund

I've been using the free version of Focal between CM-10.2 nightlies and Task's AOKP, and I'm very impressed with how far it's come over the past few weeks. I took the liberty to hide the AOSP Camera app from my app drawer, since it's worthless in comparison to Focal, in my opinion.
Edit: Honestly, I don't see a difference in quality between the 9mp and 12mp either, but that's just by zooming in on an image using the AOSP gallery..

Agreed about focal. If you want "full screen" then change the settings to 9 mp to match TW stock camera. Same resolution for the "full screen".

Did not know about the refund... I wish apps let you have a demo of the full version for a few days before you bought them... I always support developers who make great apps

Using N4 as a webcam.

Anyone know how to use N4s front camera as a webcam? I mean to be able to use it on chatrooms like it its on a PC?

Not sure if this supports the Nexus 4, but it looks like the app DroidCam (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dev47apps.droidcam&hl=en) is what you are looking for.
Not quite what I was after. I would like to use my front camera chatting on my phone browser. Same as you use your laptop camera on video chat.

It's not possible with phone browser. At least not the popular ones. They don't support that protocol. Even with you desktop browser you have to install an add-on most of the time.
I recommend using a video chat apps. There are plenty of options out there.

How to improve the camera?

Goodnight everyone, the camera phone is one of the things I use, I wonder if you have any tips for improvement? I'm currently with Carbonrom, I wonder if it also influences the rom? Sorry for my bad English.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Seems to me that the image quality of photos taken by the N4 is a bit hindered by the stock camera app. Try using 3rd party camera apps. I've had good results with Camera Zoom FX.
earned the hint, put the app you recommended, but it does not have HDR mode, you know someone who has, and that is better than stock?

You're only in the shooting modes, there are loads more features in the settings option (see first screenshot).
HDR is under scene mode in settings (second screenshot)

We need the camera apk from nexus 5
Sent from my SM-N900W8 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Won't work. This is taken from the N5 board, about someone who lost HDR+
Thanks to everyone that helped out.
I found the culprit. I changed my build prop to be a Galaxy Note 3 so I could run Polaris Office.
I have changed it all back and after a camera data wipe it all returned.
So if any of you want to change the device name for any reason, it will disable the HDR+ mode.

You can try changing your build.prop to a Nexus 5 but then you'll probably break other stuff on the Note 3

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Select an app or widget, and then move it to the right of the home screen and keep going. A new screen will appear.

You need to move the icon to the edge of the screen to the right, hold it there for a little. It should automatically take you to a new screen.
Thanks guys, human error... I was trying to do it with a widget, but it works with an app, not a widget..

Thanks again. I've tried that already but didn't bode well with my favorite walls. Tried clearing data in Google search got rid of the black bar on the right of the wallpaper but stretched way too much. Oh well.
Can anyone confirm whether the latest version of Google Search and/or the latest Google Now launcher goes back to the 6 x6 grid that Google search version 3.1.8920880.arm had? Every time I tried updating to new Search version it cuts off one of the columns which throws my whole homescreen setup and wigets off. I think the updates cut it to only 5 columns

i'm asking you this because i get better images when i use either xdabbeb modded camera app (you can find it here under developer's area subforums) or DSLR Camera Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.vipek.camera) which gives me even more settings to fiddle with...
you can also try some other camera apps like
