Hello,
First, I must say that I read many articles, tutorials and threads before, without any positive results so I decided to ask this question. I don't know why I cannot connect external device to my Nexus 7 3G (tilapia). Actually, my tablet's working on CyanogenMod 10.2 unofficial and is based on its kernel. It's even unable to detect device in recovery mode (I've flashed TWRP 2.6.1). I can add that I'm using otg-usb cable which has been included in my set of purchasing. I don't know is it important but my pendrive doesn't see to be ready to use while it's connected via cable because the micro diode is off wheres after connect to my computer it's always on (twinkle or shine). Of course I've installed StickMount app and others similar free for mounting devices and file explorers from Google Store. Additionally, Icon "Mount USB Storage" in Settings->Storage is constantly off (unable to touch). I'm waiting for your suggestions.
Thank you in advance for any replys.
EDIT.
I resolved it. The issue was responding to my cable. I've used the wrong one because I didn't know that it was from the other tablet than this one. I connected my device via new one and it's working perfectly now. Excuse for bothering you.

Hey guys anyone encounter when transferring files to the N10 via mtp that it transfer, but after a couple of minutes it will hang and pop up an error saying it lost communication with the device? The computer recognizes the N10 in mtp but after trying to transfer a file it would hang and that error will show. I mean this is not a huge problem for me since I just transfer my stuff wirelessly now which is a lot better, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has this problem and if there is a fix or is it on my end.

I only got my N10 today and while transferring music over from my laptop via mTP, I got the same problem you spoke of. I reconnected the cable, and copied the files over again without a hitch. Hope this isn't a persistent problem.

Yeah I got my Nexus about a week ago and noticed this problem. I wonder if it has to do with the adb drivers. My Nexus 4 though transfer files like a champ through MTP so idk whats wrong with the N10. But like I stated using the wifi transfer is actually better for me anyways.
3 things can cause the errors. 1. Not using the supplies USB cable 2. Not using Nexus 10 driver on the PC. (Or having multiple USB drivers for different devices) 3. Using a USB 3.0 port.
Fixes:
Use the provided USB cable.
Grab the Universal USB/ADB drivers which can be found in this forum.
Don't use USB 3.0 ports.
These issues are not Nexus 10 specific. As far as USB 3 ports go backwards compatibility is hit and miss.
The cable might not be functioning properly or the file downloaded is corrupted. Try to redl the file. Sometimes rebooting the device helps too

I think its the usb/adb driver because I have like so many different devices that I installed through AIO toolkits from the past
Nexus 7 + Charge + Wifi= OK
Nexus 7 + OTG Charge + Wifi = Fail
Searched everywhere for this conflict to no avail. My Nexus 7 resides in my BMW X5 (Will link video below) and only recently did I discover a problem that meets these conditions: When I have my Nexus 7 charging via OTG cable, I cannot connect to a wifi network. I can enable wifi, but it will just hang and will not see, update or connect to any connections. The moment I pull the OTG cable, I can connect to a network.
My initial car install did not include OTG cable and eternal storage. I remember it working (and in my install video) wifi and charge happened simultaneously. It was when I followed these steps to root, the above started happening.....
Installed Universal_Naked_Driver_0.72 for Nexus 7
Downloaded timur-usbhost-2013-01-29-jb42-*fi.zip and put in root folder of Nexus 7
Rooted Successfully w/ motochopper n7 (No wipe)
Backed up All aps and system settings (Titanium BackupPro)
Downloaded ROM Manager ClockworkMod Touch and used ROM Install option to point to timur file above.
I have re-visited Timur's website and looking for solution but I am left stumped.
A big thanks to anyone who puts me on the right trail.
And to show I give too, here you go....

Hello everyone!
Since i got my nexus 4 i started 'playing' with it. I have tried many things, flashed many roms etc. I need your help for something now. I have an awus036h and i want to connect it to my phone. I have tried one app, Wifi Pcap Capture to see if my phone can see it and it could (for a few seconds). I need to know what (and how) can I do to connect the adapter to my phone. I have an otg (Y) cable and i can connect my external hdd to my phone without any problem (I have all the hardware needed). I know, it's not easy but if you could help i would be grateful.
Regards
rom: Stock 5.0.1
kernel: Unleashed 98u

So i just got my MOJO and was in the process of rooting it but, i can't seem to get windows 7 to recognize the device when i connect it by USB. It always shows up as "unknown device". How do i get Windows 7 to recognize it?
Also i have another problem regarding sound....there isn't any. When i load up a video on the MOJO, or just try to do anything that would have sound, theres nothing. I have the sound at MAX using the CTRL gamepad controls. Still, nothing.
I knew the MOJO was going to be one of those devices you have to fight with in order to get it to do what you want but, this is worse than i expected.
Help?
It really is a terrible experience out of the box. We know who to blame Mad Catz!
For Windows to recognize it, you have to install ADB Drivers, try the ones from teamandroid: www teamandroid .com/download-android-usb-drivers/
You will have to locate the device in the windows device manager and install the drivers manually.
But you can root the mojo without conencting it to the pc. you can root it with towelroot (Version 1). you have to search with google for the apk. the newest version (3) and v2 won't work.
After that you can use Flashify to flash a custom recovery.
For the sound: do you have another hdmi slot at your tv? this sounds like a connection problem.

Connecting it to the PC is (supposed)to be the EASY way though. Also....i don't see the mojo listed among the devices on that link you mentioned. Which one should i download??

Try the driver from Samsung.
If they don't work, use the universal adb drivers: github.com/koush/UniversalAdbDriver
Towelroot would be much easier, you just install the App and klick one button (but only v1 works with mojo)

Thanks for the reply but i've tried all towelroot 1.0 as well as 3.0 and it did NOT work. I got an error saying, "This phone isn't currently supported". No matter which version i try.
Edit: Ok got it working! Turns out i was attempting the V2.0 & V3.0 versions. There are plenty of sites out there that would claim to have v1.0. However, once i downloaded and installed it, i'd see a "v2" or "v3" at the top of the screen.
In the end, I had to do a google search for a towelroot spefically for MOJO. Only then did i finally come across a site that had a legit v1.0.

Good job! I'm glad it worked in the end.
I also had to search a long time to find the correct tr version. But you will never need it again, once it's rooted. if you want to go back to stock, you can flash the original firmware with twrp, too!

Here was the thread it was in:

And the link for V1.0 in case anyone wants it. It was tough to find:

Ok so after a few hard weeks messing with this device, i've figured out ways to fix all its quirks, except for one: Not being able to connect to Pc. Thats annoying. I don't like having to remove my Micro SD card everytime i want to add more files.
Especially since this device was deigned in such a way that, its virtually impossible to remove without first removing the HDMI cable first. As they are sooooo CLOSE together.
Any suggestions for drivers? I just need it to function like a plain USB mass storage device, so i can access my Micro SD card on the Pc.
Yeah, the microSD is a pain to remove.. but I never need to touch it.
I don't understand why you want to access the SD via PC as a USB device?
To access the sdcard over wifi I use a SambaDroid server on the mojo pointed to the sdcard.. it works.

I want to be able to freely connect my MOJO by USB and drag & drop files at will to the Micro SD, without having to physically remove the Micro SD card each time (which also means unplugging the HDMI every time!!).
So far i'm enjoying the MOJO console as i've found fixes for every other problem i've run into. This is the only one that continues to elude me. I had not thought about the possibility of my Pc being able to connect remotely though wi-fi, to access the MOJO storage. This might be yet another out-of-the-box fix for me. Can you explain more about how this is done??

Not sure why you want to have a USB on the MOJO that way... the idea of MOJO(or any other topset box) is to keep it online next to your TV, I used to plug USB thumb drives into it.. but you never want to change microSD cards.. same like on a phone or tablet really.
Just install this on mojo:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=berserker.android.apps.sambadroid&hl=en
You can configure it so it shares a folder (google how to share folders on windows or youtube sambadroid).
You can use just the microSD (i think it's /mnt/card1) or the internal storage(i think /storage) or both using just /
I wouldn't do just / though.
It's pretty easy, just replicates windows file sharing and works well.
Hi guys...
Yesterday my new PH-1 arrived and today I wanted to use ADB with the app "custom navigation bar". My problem is: i can`t get it to work... I´ve used adb several times with different phones, but with the PH-1 it can´t connect with my Windows 10 computer. Is it possible that I can´t get it to work because Ì´m using a different USB-C cable (took 3 different from Xiaomi another manufacturer)?
How do get it to work? Everytime I connect the phone with the computer, I get the message USB debugging is on and I use MTP to work, but the phone doesn`t show the RSA key fingerprint. Any suggestions?

Mines wouldn't connect using the usbc cable it came with I had to use a regular usb to usbc cable for it to work
See your device manager. To see if you are seeing "Mata". You have to download the google usb driver and update it from there
I have S8 from my previous computer but i need to re install the driver again
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbAq6d2Du0U
You can also try this tuturial hope that it is working for you.
Try this > Download and install the essential usb driver > go to device manager and update the driver. Choose the option where you can change the source and select the driver in the list > go to the Essential Folder in Program Files and choose the file named "essentialadb.inf" for your pc. That should work
It's and old thread but if there is someone new to this...
My essential wouldnt work with the previous ADB i had installed that had worked fine with all my other devices.
I installed https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790 and worked just fine. Make sure your device isnt connected as anything other than charging. The previous ADB i was using didnt acknowledge my device but on first try with Minimal i was prompted on my phone right away
I had the same problem when attempting to flash my ph-1, when trying to use the cable that came with the device. I used a standard USB-A to USB-C cable and everything worked just fine. I noticed on the 8.1 update notes for side loading that the team indicates that the cable that comes with the phone is "Primarily" designed for charging and not data transfer. So I'm guessing that it is of lower quality and doesn't handle the transfer speeds.

Hold either volume button while connecting cable from phone to pc, it will detect automatically. It may work.
