This just happened. Battery was at ~15%, when I put in the charger it jumps to ~60%.
My battery was great, without problems until this (minutes ago). What should I do? Unplug and let it discharge to about ~5% and let it charge again? How to recalibrate it?
P.S.: I have this phone for about 1 month, and never let it discharge to 0% because I heard that it can cause some problems with the nexus 4 (I let it discharge to about 5% only). Is that right?
Thanks in advance!

OK. Thanks man!
Just to be clear, when you say let it discharge, you mean discharge until it die? There is no problem in doing that?
Thanks and sorry for my noob questions.

Yes, dischrage till the phone is dead (the extremist even turn it on few times till even the boot logo isn't show anymore) and then fully charge to 100% +2 hours.
don't forget to clean battery logs before! :]

You can do both, either let it die or charge it when around 2%.
You can also wipe battery stats but that won't have any effect on the type of battery we got!

I don't have any "weird" application running in the background, this happened with the original carrier ROM (telcel, México) and with a "debranded" canadian ROM.
The battery life just runs away, I've charged my phone fully and then I unplug it, leave it sitting there without touching it like an hour (just wifi enabled, no celular data at all) and I'm getting this.

Definitely there's something wrong on mine... I'll install that and I'll let it "sleep" all night and see the results.
Thanks a lot. I'll come here again with my results.
Let BBS run at least 48hrs with no reboots to give you a full evaluation. That's what I do and I find the answer in couple of days.
Check out this thread, it may help with your issue. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2278777

So, I don't understand the application, I don't even know if I need to leave it open or what :/
I've solved it, it was the 4G antenna draining my battery life.
Do you have bad reception? Usually that causes severe battery drain. I'm glad you found what the issue is.

No, not at all :/
Hi everyone,
I searched the forum for a satisfactory answer yet I don't seem to find one so I'm going to ask here...
I have the habit of plugging my Nexus 4 as soon as I get home, keep it plugged overnight, and unplug it the next day when going to work. About two weeks ago I noticed that occasionally the phone indicates that the phone is fully charged yet, some minutes afterwards it indicates that the battery is at 98-99% and is charging again. I was quite intrigued so I started using some battery applications (e.g. Battery Widget Reborn) and I now notice that the "problem" is quite frequent and happens every single time the phone is plugged (I tried withe the original USB cable that came with the phone as well as with other cables). Attached is an image showing the weird pattern that I'm having...
Does any one have the same problem ? Anyone cares to explain to me why this is happening ???

Isn't that done on purpose? You don't want to keep charging at 100% so the phone discharges after reaching 100% for a while.

When 100% is reached, the battery, for the best of my knowledge, is not used... Therefore, I find that it discharges very very quickly for an unused battery !
Mine does that as well. I thought that was normal?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
It's Normal as phone batteries reach 100, discharge a bit and stays there. Btw ROM + Kernel?

Just stock Android 4.2.2
How quickly it uses that small amount of battery that kicks it back into charge mode is going to depend on what you have running and syncing in the background.

I tried it doesn't work. Moreover the statistic never restart. Now it shows more than 2 days with the battery and obviously it's not true. At the time of Desire I remember there was an app to recalibrate the battery, someone remember the name?

Try running this app to reset your battery stats.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration&hl=en
Thanks but the app requires root, and probably all similar apps. I'll wait the 4.3 or I proceed with a reset. I very unlucky with nexus. Before N4 i had a GN, after 6 months I have to send it in warranty, they give me a new one and after 4 months the screen was always off. Now is it in warranty too. I have N4 from one month and it's starting to go crazy... However, thanks to everyone for the help

Do a full charge, unplug and see if that resets the stats. That does the same thing as the calibration app.

Taking forever and not putting a time to it doesn't help. So really how long is it taking to charge?
Mine seems to charge in a few hours (3-4) but im utilizing it at the same time. This is using the stock charger.

You're right I apologize. It seems to charge about 20%/hr, using stock 1.35a charger. I guess I'm just used to the 2.5-3hr time frame.
About 2.5 hours using the original Nexus 7 charger. Almost 4 hours with the stock charger. They must have saved a few cent by using the less powerful charger.

I unplugged mine last night because I had to plug in my Note II.
This morning, after being unplugged for 6 hours, was down to 94% left. Be interesting to see how long it goes on it's own without being touched, but that's never going to happen at my house.
well this is mine. But guys keep using it, i feel they may drop more faster compared to how long you use it

I've seen elsewhere that people have had issues with Samsung Link eating up battery life. Turning it off appears to solve the issue.

Pretty reasonable. Thank god I pretty much turn off all non necessary Samsung apps because that's just how Samsung rolls lol

i had almost the same results on my rooted Sprint GS5 with all the samsung stuff, and bloatwhere turned off
Believe it or not.... the "Memos" app was eating more battery than everything else combined for me before I turned it off.

crazy how much bloat ware verizon put on this thing, the Sprint version was very slimmed down, polar oppoisite of this, lol
