I've spent two days flashing, re-flashing radios, different ROMs, stock, rooted, not rooted, locked, unlocked and cannot get any cell service. Phone was rocking LTE with PAC ROM a few days ago then cell service just stopped working.
Also, any version other than stock 4.2 causes a boot loop.
Really....really weird.
Was using on T-Mobile...very happily.
I think I fried my radio.
Anybody have any advice? About to call Google to try to get RMA
Cheers!
have you tried a different simcard, or your simcard in a different phone?
Yes, tried different sims

Yes, I sure have. My IMEI is being shown as "Uknown".
Tried *#*#4636#*#* and none of the phone setting stick. I tried to "Select Radio Band" but when I choose "USA" it kicks back an error.
Could using the Hybrid modems have caused this problem?
What are the chances of Google replacing my phone, purchased in June?
Boot loop

Any time I load anything but 4.2, I get a boot loop. I've tried several different ROM's - and boot loop on every one. Watching CyanogenMod spinning for 10 minutes right now...about to give up.
Is there any logs I can look at?

Hello everybody,
I came from a nrg on a leo512.
I have installed MAGLDR 1.11 in order to use Android in my NAND.
But I've some random reboot from my device and most of them are when I'm standby mode when I woke up the morning the phone asks me for the pin code...
It's strange when I boot I saw in first for 1-2 sec NRG bootscreen before MAGLDR...
That's why I'm wondering If you think my HD2 NAND is clean ?
Should I make a task29 ? I heard that tools earses all the data...
All your helps are welcome !
Regards
ditto
I have this problem also..
Norwegian HD2..
I have tried quite a few radios.. plowing through all the available radios as we speak.. if i get a reboot i flash a new radio in hope of figuring out the problem.. the weird thing is i dont get this while using WP7... i get reboots in all other OS.. a quick fix for the SIM lock annoyance is to disable PIN code but does not fix the problem itself.. anyone have any thoughts on what this may be?

This is normal.
The custom ROM you were using has flashed a custom boot screen. As MAGLDR is installed AFTER this in the chain (Boot1->Magldr->Radio & NAND), it does not alter the screen. You can actually install a custom boot screen to replace this. Check Here for some.
As for the reboots, check the sticky link in my sig. There is a FAQ in there which may offer some help.
Also try post 2 of THIS
looks promising

Update: Ended up on 2.11.50.20 and its been 20 hours since i flashed the radio.. still no reboot... looks promising, ill update if the situation changes...
Update: 2.11.50.20 was no success, 2.15.50.04 seems to be the best radio in my case.. about 60 hours between reboots has been quite consistent
lately.. i wonder what causes this. ideas and\or sollutions are recieved with gratitude. Disabled the SIM lock so its nothing to worry about but it stil gives me headache.
Although the posts above me may be right, it seems that after I disabled over clocking on my hd2, the issue was no longer present.
As always, remember what your mommy taught you; it's proper to say "please and thank you".

I tried this solution, but it didn't resolve anything. I'm using mdj's cyanogen mod 2.6 with the latest radio and magdlr 1.13. I' m not using set CPU anymore. I was using it to underclock the phone and I was still getting restarts. The phone's temperature did not seem excessive either. This is a great phone but these restarts are making it almost useless. I'm at a lost here.

Like I said, it works for some of us. I haven't had any rebooting issues, after I turned of the automatic network selection. Some Norwegians fixed this issue, by turning of the 3G. You could try removing the sim-card and leaving the phone at sleep mode for few hours, in order to see, if your phone is still suffering from the random reboots. If so, the problem is somewhere else and I can't help you with it, because I haven't had such issues.
I resloved the issue by sending the phone back to HTC and having the mainboard replaced. Now the phone is working exactly as it should.

Well I have had my Xoom now for about a month. I use it pretty heavily and as soon as I got it I rooted it and installed Tiamats v1.4.4 kernel with OC'd GPU. I was running pretty flawless OC'd to 1.5Ghz until last night. I was in the middle of reading some posts on here on tapatalk and out of the blue the screen went black and rebooted. It was stuck on the spash screen for 20 minutes. I tried a hard boot and got bootloops.
I then downloaded the stock images and reflashed it back to stock and even relocked the bootloader. Still bootloops. I ended up flashing the stock images like 3 times in all with the same results. Sometimes I can get into the OS and go through setup and sometimes not. Most of the time if I can get into android apps start force closing and it reboots, or the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. I noticed most of the time when rebooting I get bright white flashes of light on the splash screen. Here is a video of the boot sequence:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ctODeIPANU&feature=player_profilepage
Around 1 minute into the video you can see the white flashes of light. Anyone know if there is any chance of recovering this? BTW, its a verizon 3g xoom. I'm pretty sure its a brick. I just wanted to see if anyone else had seen this same thing happen.
EDIT: I also noticed that sometimes the front camera is flashing red also when rebooting. Weird.
Had you updated any apps like superuser or busybox installer? Were you able to do a nandroid recovery through CMR? What stock files did you flash (what version?) I'll bet you are not completely bricked...there seems to be a fix for almost every crash. It's just that without knowing anything about why it may have crashed or exactly what you did afterwards it hard to know how to help.

I didn't update anything at all. I tried my stock nandroid and it locked up too. I tried flashing both factory images for the VZW xoom from motorolas website and they both do the same thing. I've never seen it lock up so much and the screen become unresponsive like it is. Restoring it to factory should fix it and after 3 times of flashing the stock images it should be fine, but its not. The stock files I tried were MZ600_HRI39 and MZ600_HRI66. I'm not sure what else to even try. The flashing white screen and the camera flashing red are definitely not a good sign.

Wow, maybe you have a hardware failure. Did it act funky before at all? I saw that it just bootloops by itself...can you still get it into any kind of recovery? I think that if you can get into fastboot and use adb, you can do a wipe and maybe start over. Of course it you have a hardware fail that's another issue.

If you can go to the IRC Xoom Channel you could chat with people who know much more than I do. I think with your weird light flashes and continuous boot cycle, that might be your best bet. The address is in brd's signature line.

I did it like this, and I assume it would also be a fix for your problem.
I downloaded the 4.4 factory image and used the flash all command from the bootloader. This installed stock 4.4 and new bootloader and radio and everything. Then I installed the latest CWM and then installed the port ROM. Works flawlessly.

im using the new radio, but a modified version so that i can use lte. so its not the full regular .97 radio. but from what ive read about people using the regular .97 radio is that it takes longer to boot.
Will the hybrid .27/.97 work on 4.3, currently on PSX V8.5 awaiting for the good devs there to release there kitkat PSX version.
I found the solution.
Really pisses me off that it was this simple.
Turn on your phone into bootloader
Leave it on bootloader until the battery drains 100%
You can tell it is drained when the phone looks like it is bricked and when you plug it in a red light shows on the notification light
Let it charge for ten minutes
Boot the phone
It should boot. Yeah. Seriously.
It looks like a battery fault of some sort. Welcome

Did you try to wipe Dalvik Cache & Cache in recovery after flashing back to stock?
If the above doesn't work then do this:
Boot into recovery(go to bootloader(vol. down+power) and select recovery). Use "adb pull /sdcard/the_folder_goes_here/and_so_on.jpg" to pull whatever you want to backup(pics, music etc) and flash stock ROM from Google https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occam
It's the best way.

+1. And if that doesn't work and you have a hardware issue, boot into fastboot and use
fastboot oem lock
That'll lock the bootloader

Well yeah, but flashing the stock rom just left me with a bootloop, just with those 4 rings..
boot into recovery, see if your computer detect your phone as android device, try use minimal adb and fastboot, it happen to me once, and success to fix it. if it cant fix it, try use nexus root toolkit, the tools here on xda nexus 4 forum. choose back to stock, and dont forget to choose current status as soft-bricked/bootloop. let me know how it goes.. we'll figure it out
HELP ME PLEASE.
I have the same issue where no matter which factory ROM i install using soft bricked option, or fastboot my Google Nexus 4 will not get past the black screen with the four circular colours which come together to form a white circle then repeat.
I know the proximity sensor is defective since it is broken and I am wondering if this could be the problem?
What else can I try?
Could a custom ROM be a solution?

Gday again, just curious as to how you went with going back to android 4.2.2. Is your phone back in action? I was stoked when mine worked again, even though it took me 12 hrs to make it happen lol.

I fixed it, and had it fixed for maybe 4 months, but now it is back in a bootloop. What i did to fix it the first time beats me, i just randomly flashed 4.4 roms, and it booted once. I used adb sideload for some stuff, but i am gonna keep trying.

There is a problem, seems like the lg drivers are not compatible with windows 8.1...
Found a fix, check the forum page
When I first got my phone ((Without a simcard)) My phone rebooted like maybe twice in the 3 days. But ever since I put my simcard in ,after about 4 hours ish. I notice it rebooted and just after about 10 seconds or less it reboots again. It did it yesterday about 5 times in a row before I turned off my phone booted into recovery and cleared my cahce and dalvik, removed the sim, booted my phone and put the sim back in. No problems after that.
Then today morning It did it again rebooting back to back, removed the simcard out.
Does anyone know what is going on? Is it my simcard? I also have a case on, could that be? I can't rma cause I don't live in the states.
Adding on. It was my old phones simcard and hard to get cut. On android 6.1 running elementalx
Bump. I am thinking of going back to factory. What is the best way to do it? Using the one in settings or should I reflash googles stock image and unroot using nexus toolkit.

I did change my governor options to something called ghostpepper settings from another thread, maybe its that? But like I said it all started happening yesterday. I have managed to get my bugreports. I could attach them.
Which method is best? Factory rest from the android settings or flashing stock image using nexus tool kit.

I'd reflash the stock image, personally.

You won't much support here for tool kits. They can cause trouble to begin with. Try flashing stock image and use Heisenberg's guide in doing so. If you successfully return to stock (not using a toolkit) and you still have issues I would say you have a hardware issue.
