This problem just started yesterday. Google Voice is not syncing unless I manually refresh it. This leads to a lot of missed texts.
All data sync options are on, battery is set to performance mode, auto sync is enabled, sync only over wi-fi is off. I don't know what to do.
Can anyone help?
Also Gmail sync is not working.

I had this problem temporarily about a week ago. I had the sync button in extended controls and turned off syncing. I deleted.the widget and stated over and didn't have gmail out google voice because the sync was off in the settings. Not sure in your case though

I've got auto sync enabled in Power Control as well as SwitchPro. Also in Quick Settings and Settings. No dice.

Really sorry to hear this, as I use Google Voice for my texts. I wish I could give you some advice, but I can't. Reinstalling, wiping the cache, or a factory reset are the only things that come to mind.
Okay, I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it syncs but doesn't notify me until I open the app.

Bump because this is still a problem.

I had the same issue. You can set google to text you when you have a new voicemail. It'll send the message via the google voice app and show up in your notifications.
I am having an issue with my stock Gmail app not pushing my new emails. It just started NOT happening all of a sudden. Any suggestions? Still on stock rom 2.1
Thanks
Are you using any task killers?

i am having the exact same issue, it started today. the only way i can get my emails pushed to my phone is if i go to the gmail app and then do a refresh. i have to do this everytime i want to read my gmail on my phone. and i do not run any task killers. i am running bionix fusion. i have rebooted my phone, battery and sim pulls and nothing is fixing it.
ditto
I'm having the same problem.
Running:
-Bionix Fusion 1.1
-Project Core v1
I flashed the JI2 modem yesterday again to see if it would help improve my battery life. I'm not sure if that's the reason I'm not getting gmail pushed to my phone though.

Same here. NO task killers and have to refresh to get my emails. Only difference is I am on stock.
Had the same problem. Go to menu>applications>manage. Once there, press menu and change the filter to show all apps. Its set to 3rd Party by default. Then, find gmail, and gmail storage and clear the data and cache for both.
Open gmail and it should fix it.

Sorry, but it didn't work for me either. Bad thing is that there are no other good email apps for gmail. Maildroid is what I am currently using just so I can get notifications. One thing I forgot to mention was that it was working fine today before I downloaded Gmail notifier from the market. Deleted it, but it hasn't worked since.

Actually this fixed the issue for me - or so it seems so far.
I am having the same issue, and I also downloaded Gmail notifier from the market. I tried deleting the data and the cache as well, and so far no change.
I have stock JI6, never installed gmail notifier and it stopped working last night. Will try the cache method and report back.
Funny thing is that I have two gmail accounts. The one that's NOT tied to my phone user information works just fine and is getting the immediate push emails.
Same here no new emails are shown in the phone Gmail since last night
is Every other phone having the same problem now?

In this case, i would check settings on gmail server and in accounts & sync. Maybe try resetting the values just to deflag and reflag it.

Emails are pushing again automatically for me after deleting cache and temporary data.
Clear the cache/data and make sure sync is still on. Odd so many had the same issue at the same time though.
Still not working

still not working for me. i cleared the cache and made sure i have sync turned on. i have unchecked sync and rechecked it and still nothing.
I am having the same issue. Right after clearing the data and cache, I got notified of new mail, then it stopped working again.
Hi everybody howcome when I go in calendar and try to add a event it says you have no calendar? Can somebody help me. I download a calendar app from market gave me same message.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Did you create one from Google Calendar? Log onto your gmail account and create a calendar then sync it to your phone.
Lol sounds confusing. What about contacts I saved 2 but its not on my contacts howcome?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
It happened to me when I first got my Nexus S. Even though I linked gmail and the calendar wouldn't allow me to add an event until a few days after using the phone while synced to Google account.
Sync Google account and do a soft reboot and if it doesn't work right away, let it run for a couple days. Give that a try. Good luck.

I bought my wife the new Nexus S 4g today. The guy at the sprint store helper her set up the phone even thought I did not want him too. Oh well it is his job. Thing is she had never setup Google Calendar because she had a BlackBerry before that. So when I got home I setup her Google calendar but it is not syncing to her new phone. When I go to Setting > Accounts & Sync > her google account there is not a Calendar option. What do I need to do I don't want to have to reset her phone. Are there any other options? Thanks.
Odd. Calendar should be one of the defaults syncs. Have you tried running the calendar app and see if the gmail account shows up there?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I had tried running the calendar app but nothing shows up I even enter an event online thinking may bring it down but nothing. If you try to add an event on the phone it just says "You have no calendars". It is almost like the phone did not sync all the way to her account. I really don't want to reset her phone to factory default and have her set everything up again. She would not want to do that. She has already change the wallpaper all the screens downloaded apps, and changed ring tones.
I meant open the calendar app, press the menu button, press More then on Calendars and make sure the gmail account is listed there.
Also, this might be a stupid question but you're connected with Wifi or mobile network (3G, 2G, etc) right? Your phone signal bars should appear green if you're connected to Google's servers. If it's not green, you won't be able to sync.
I go to Calendar app > More > Calendars and there is nothing there, just have an Ok and cancel button. I have been on 3g, 4g, and wifi and nothing on any of them. Yes the the bars a green at the top.
I doubt you need to reset to factory so not to worry about that. Maybe you just have to wait a day or two. Either that or bring it back to the store and have them figure it out.
Might do that thanks. Hopefully it will work itself out.
You can also try rebooting the phone if you haven't already.
already tried that

maybe you should try and get the stock calendar.apk and re-install it...???
Ok I talked to Sprint and they said that is easiest way was to make sure that the phone was backed up to Google and just do a Factory Wipe. Basically wipe the phone and start over. So I did and that fixed the problem. So anyone who gets a new google phone and does not have all the google apps setup do that before you get the phone activated. I hope someone finds a better way because that is a major oversight on googles part. But everything is working great now.
Seems that ever since I bagan using ROM's on my N7 I have been unable to automatically sync my gmail. This is the 3rd one that I've tried. Ensured that all settings are set up correctly (Gmail sync and Email notifications on) and of course my GNex has no issues retrieving email. I can manually tell it to sync and it will, but otherwise nothing. Tried deleting the account and restoring and not seeing any change. Also cleared the cache and nothing changed. Anyone else have this issue?
Since yesterday I have the same issue. I had to reinstalla the rom on my phone, restore all the apps with TB, everything works but the mail even if it is checked sync they don't sync...the same for calendar too. I have to manual sync.
Tried delete account, uncheck e check sync, delete cache , delete update and redo update...nothing seems work...I really don't know what to do...
Try putting the power widget on your homescreen and press the sync button on the widget. It sounds stupid but ive had to do it once in a while.

My power widget doesn't have any "sync" button, just wifi, brightness, rotation and bluetooth...I have an ICS rom...
I notice if I take a look in the google account settings, even if the email is sync checked the time of syncing doesnt cheange, it is the last I manually sync...

Settings - account - Google - click on your email, make sure your Gmail account/sync is checked.
Yes it is... But I saw not only Gmail is not sync, but also calendar, drive ecc., this mean there is a problem with Google account sync... Time of last sync is when I manually sync...
I also notice the wifi icon, when I'm connected to wifi is gray and no blue...I remeber it was blue when the google account was working...
Honestly I'm really confused... Don't know what to do...
UPDATE: I saw I cannot access to my google talk...I'm offline, I try to turn on but very quick windows and then it keep offline...

Starting last night Gmail does not push any email to my phone. Any ideas what happened? Could I have stopped a process that it needs(not Gmail app)?
Did you check your settings? Not trying to be am a$$. Only reason I ask is cause Ive run the root process twice on my Note 3 so far. First time everything was fine. Second time I had to sign in tp google twice, and sync for gmail and other sync options weren't checked

I had this issue. I turned on WiFi and it started to push my emails. I turned it off and it seemed to work fine.
I tried it but it did not seem to work although I was not connected only had WiFi on.
I had this happen too. I had to go into gmail settings, and then click on my email addy. On this page go to the "manage labels" button and make sure your boxes are set to sync and notify. I use like 5 different inboxes so I had to enable sync for each one. It took me forever to find this and I was going insane trying everything to enable sync. I still have no idea what causes this activity.
I've had this happen on galaxy devices. I usually go to Gmail and clear and restore defaults then that usually fixes it. If not then go to accounts and sync and disable sync then re-enable it. One of those should work

I saw that the notify flag was off so I turned it on. I will see if that fixs the problem.
