Will This Work? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys i am running purity rom and purified kernel. I am just wondering what kernel alternatives there are for this rom, specifically looking for a combination of the most features+performance in the kernel. Purified is good but lacks some features such as my wanted sio governer and performance seems to be lacking on benchmarks. Any suggestions?

faux, franco.

Hells core is also good

I was looking at neo and it looks good in terms of performance, but whats battery like?

Is there a "best" kernel for n7

So currently I am on PA 2.54 and using Franco kernel. I was wondering what the main differences between Franco, Trinity, motley and various others. They all seem to do the same stuff...
Is this a preference type of thing? Like asking which rom is the best or which launcher is the best?
Thanks!

I am wondering this now myself. Since I am using 10.1 my gaming experience seems really bad

CM7 has always been great for me when it comes to gaming.

Rasbeanjelly ils good for gaming.

Really, the best option is to overclock to 1.2 or 1.4ghz before playing a game. As far as I can tell, and in my experience, not a huge of difference is present between gaming on different roms.
Slimbean will most likely give you the most amount of RAM free for gaming though.
Re: AnTuTu Benchmark - Post your score
Well i personally recommend cm7.2.0 with 2.3-BIGMEM-65FPS KERNEL
You will get 405 mb of total ram!!

Where do you find that kernel?

BUMP!! (for 2.3 kernel link!)
the GB roms are the best for gaming, like oxygen 2.3.2 and CM 7.2
for jellybean roms, as said littlebigsnafu slimbean give you the most amount of RAM free to play games
here a kernel wirh bigmem for GB! --> http://byeonggonlee.blogspot.com/2012/04/gb-lynx-kernel-150.html?m=1
I really like JellyB-TSM 17 with Marmite 7.3 (non CM).... read the thread, some gamers on it singing it's praises!

Carbon vs liquidsmooth

Planning on flashing one of these ROMs (or another if you can suggest a better one) but not sure which to go for. Now I know there is no best ROM but if you can explain the differences then at east I can make an educated decision (as I know these 2 are branches from what were once 1 group of developers.) I tend to prioritise battery, customisation and smoothness and must also be stable for daily use.
Thanks in advance

You really couldn't separate them on performance, stability & battery. I think carbon has more frequently updated nightlies. Features? Both packed.
So I can't really loose then?

Get carbon.

Nexus 4 spoiled me

I just go a nexus 7 yeah I know a little late but I got it as a gift so is it just me or is it a little slower than the nexus 4 I'm currently running paranoid android because I love the tablet ui. Any ideas? I already put trinity kernel on it, I'm thinking its pa slowing it down but I'm not sure.

Purity Rom is faster. Pa was not working well for me too.
Try that Rom.

just got me a nexus 4 recently, Ive had my n7 since December. yep, N7 is slower but it's not a fair comparison considering their hardware. +1 for purity, doesn't have a ton of features but is very smooth and doesn't bog down after a while
+1 For Purity too.
But if you still feel that it's not fast enough try m-kernel with a little overclocking should be really close to the N4 in term of responsive.

So I have steered away from pa and all things are fast and responsive going to try the m-kernel next thanks everybody.

2013 Nexus 7 Geekbench & other benchmark Scores

Does anyone have a link to their benchmark scores on the Nexus 7?
Geekbench preferred, others are fine too, but I'd like to see GB.
Here's the first benchmark I did. Just got it an hour ago. It's weird it thinks I have tegra 3 lol

Nexus 7 2013 4.3 Seems fairly identical to stock 4.3 Nexus 4 but it also looks like there are some tweaked improvements to the memory architecture.
Dunno if this is still relevant, but here is so,e updated scores.

geekbench 3 scores:
using defaulted settings on elementalX kernel 1-2, i got 620 single, 1904 multi scores , kinda slow huh?
Running CyanogenMod 10.2 latest nightly Elementalx kernel and Overclocked to 1.89ghz stable. Any higher and my scores drop.

At the same clock speed of the Galaxy S4, you get the same benchmark result.
One more hint that this S4 Pro is just an underclocked Snapdragon 600, no more, no less.
