I have a rooted MF3 to which I flashed CWM, but in seeing that it wouldn't let me do anything besides wipe data/factory reset I flashed TWRP. When I booted into recovery on TWRP I would get stuck with it saying "DOWNLOADING" and would bootloop back into TWRP recovery unless I restarted by hitting vol down + power + home button, then hitting cancel. Once I was able to get it to boot normal I figured I would reflash CWM, but once I flashed CWM and attempted to boot into recovery it would always boot into the stuck TWRP recovery. I am under the impression that since there is no stock rom I can flash, if I even had a means to flash, to get back to the stock recovery.
So my question is does anybody have an idea of how I might get CWM to properly flash over TWRP, since flashing with rom manager doesn't seem to work.
You shouldn't be trying to flash any recoveries what so ever considering you have a stock mf3 firmware. You definitely don't want to cause more damage.

A best buy Samsung experience booth would be your best bet if you need to go to stock, they can reflash mf3 firmware

As said, the samsung booth at best buy is your only choice right now. mf3 phones are bootlocked.. flashing recovies = killed phone (unless the before mentioned booth can help you out).

My phone originally was using omega rom and philz recovery. I accidentally pressed the "remove recovery flash" while in philz recovery when I was trying to reboot the phone. My phone couldn't boot to os nor recovery, but download mode still works. So I tried to flash custom recovery again but it does not work. Tried flashing stock rom and kernel but recovery does not work. However, the phone is now able to boot to os but the screen color gone wrong. The whole screen is purple-ish when in os.
How can I get back recovery and also solve the purple problem?
Maybe try using a different recovery, at least to get back to stable? I've used TWRP and OUDHS via Odin, and both work well.

Thanks alot! Finally able to enter recovery. Spent quite a long time trying to flash different roms etc.
Now trying to solve the purple problem....
Edit: Everything working fine now.
I had Mint Jelly2.1 installed and everything was working fine.
it started when I had used the APK Hide It Pro. I was in the process of hiding videos and I noticed that my phone got rebooted and got stock in the Samsung boot up image with the Custom Lock image.
I tried nandroid restore, 2 images, but both also failed to restore / bootup.
I tried re-installing ROM and it was successful but during reboot, it will still get stock on the boot image.
Last step.
I used ODIN to restore the stock ROM and ODIN was able to install and reset. And my phone rebooted but still got stock on the Samsung Logo with CUstom Lock Screen.
What else can I do to fix this?
Thank you.
Boot into recovery and do a factory reset. I assume you now have 3e stock recovery because of ODIN. This might or might not help. If you have any questions about recovery, please use the search function for information. If for some reason you still have a custom recovery (TWRP or CWM), try re-flashing an AT&T ROM and Kernel again. Everything you try is at your own risk. Good luck.

I had tried to restore/flash from recovery before ODIN and it all Failed.
Anyway, the last step ODIN restore and it was still stock at the Samsung Logo with Lock image.
I left the phone to charge the whole night and this morning when I turned it on, it was able to start properly with ODIN stock ROM.
I tried to go to recovery, and can only be done manually, and it was not the TWRP recovery but the stock one, with very small characters.
I tried to install Mint Jell2.1 right away but just reboots.
I realized that I might need to root it again and downloaded the Tool and re-loki'ed/rooted and installed TWRP.
Now, I am able to install Mint Jelly 2.1 and restoring all my apps.
I appreciate the comment.
Thank you.

Yeah, every single time I ODIN back to stock, I get stuck at the splash screen also. And rebooting to 3E (factory) recovery and "restore factory defaults" works great.

I am running out of options. I thought I am already out of this stuck on Samsung Logo with Custom Lock icon.
I had ODIN to stock I337UCUAMDL and reset, Ran Loki patch / installed TWRP, intermittently it will get stuck.
I flashed Shoshock 1.9, was able to reboot and setup basic settings.
I manually reboot to check if it was able to fix the problem, but no.
I am stuck again and don't know what is the next step for trouble shooting it.
any advise will be appreciated.
Thank you.
I got stuck to 1st boot image of Samsung with Lock Custom Icon.
I did format data/factory reset/clear cache/dalvik.. all of the wipe ootions.
I flashed a new ROM, successful, rebooted pass the logo and booted fine. I did not change any settings yet and I rebooted to check if it will get stuck again and sure after reboot, it got stuck again on the 1st image that shows up : Samsung Logo with the Lock Custom Icon.

IMPORTANTwhen using*twrp*recoverydo not choose "format data"(that option will ask you to type "yes")what if i did?rom will not boot past "padlock" boot screen orrom will not boot on second reboot*help!! OK, I've had my S4 a couple months. It's already been rooted, with TWRP installed and also MDOB custom ROM. But tonight I decided to replace TWRP recovery with CWM then I was going to flash CM 10.2. after flashing CWM I now have the yellow triangle and a message saying "system software not authorized by AT&T has been found on your phone" and the phone won't boot nor recovery is working. With no recovery I can't reflash the current ROM i had installed, I have the MDOB file on my memory card ready to reflash, but the phone won't do nothing. What to do now?
Can you get into download mode by pressing home, power, and volume down at the same time while booting up? If so, you could use this guide I've had success with. http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-tutorials/how-to-unroot-galaxy-s4-and-remove-root-completely/

I had a similar issue were I flashed philz recovery and it wasn't the loki'd zip.I to had the triangle of death with unauthorized ATT msg, I tried three times to boot into recovery and the last time I tried it went to (pic posted)and from there I pushed down for restart phone.it booted up like a regular reboot and was OK.
Also after it booted I lost custom recovery, so like I did the first time I achieved recovery I flashed with ROM manager clicking the T-Mobile S4 when prompted. Note : only use ROM manager to flash recovery.now use recovery to flash a auto Loki recovery. Hit thanks if I helped

Going to need some help on this one. Got root on stock through ioRoot22. Flashed twrp 2.6.3.3 through FreeGee. Backed up stock rom in twrp then reboot to stock rom to confirm boot
Went back into TWRP then Wiped device then attempted flashing Vanir.
Flashed Vanir zip
Flashed gapps zip
Attempted flashing kernel from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638091
Came back with flash failed with an assert issue with loki, knowing I probably shouldnt have rebooted and restored my stock backup. I didnt think anything of it. Now Im stuck in fastboot and can gain access to download mode.Currently downloading the 11A tot/kdz and reading over this guide

Would I need a stock recovery for the VS980 to complete download mode restoral? if so would anyone have it?
Ok so in the end through some patience, I was able to restore my stock rom by gaining access to TWRP through the normal "factory reset with stock recovery" method of booting. Was tricky because it wouldnt power off and bootlooping to fastboot. While in fastboot I held Vol - and Power so I can gain access again to TWRP. Restored the stock rom and all is well.

Ok so apparently there are some kernels/roms who have not updated their loki_patch file yet. From what I've been reading up which needs to be done for the roms to correspond to the updates. Am I correct?
Hello
I was trying to update my friend´s i9505 to the latest AntaresOne CM12 build, but forgot to flash gapps, and since i coulnd´t for some reason enter CWM (the phone just reboots), i had to flash stock firmware over again so i could start over.
But now the phone isn´t booting even on stock firmware. That usually did the trick.
The wierd thing is that Phils Touch Recovery was working before, but ever since i used Triangle Away to reset binary counter, the recovery won´t boot up anymore.
The only way that i could get into Phils Recovery was to install the TWRP recovery installer, and throught the app i would tell it to flash, and it would reboot into Phils Recovery
Now since system isn´t booting, i can´t install and use the TWRP installer to reboot into recovery mode for me.
Tried to flash stock recovery, the same thing happens: the phone just black screens, vibrates and reboots.
Any ideas of why this might be happening?
Go to stock recovery if you can and wipe data/factory reset. Install stock ROM then.
@guguts
As clearly wrote in 1st post of my thread, you need to do "format /system" before installing ROM's builds starting from 26/11 one and latest ones, including 3/12 and the ones that will come in the future.
I strongly suggest you to take a look again at installation instructions, but this time carefully.
If you need anything else, write directly in its Q&A thread (you can find it in this section) where surely you can be helped more and better

Flash a custom recovery with Odin. Uncheck auto-reboot before flashing.
Then boot into the recovery using the botton combo. Keep holding it as long as it takes to enter recovery.
Hey guys, i managed to work it out.
It was probably a loose vol up or home button, because i didn´t do anything but a few moments later i tried to enter stock recovery and it went fine.
The issue was not with the custom rom (which by the way is great, my friend says its running smooth).
The issue happened because i forgot to do i data wipe after installing the rom and prior to installing the stock rom.
So the stock ROM was trying to load using lollipop data and cache, and thats why it got stuck in the samsung logo.
As soon as i managed to enter stock recovery again, and made a data wipe, the stock room booted fine.
So i tried again, but this time didn´t forget to flash gapps, and even better, now Phils Recovery is booting up normally (go figure...)
So i formated /system and /data, flashed AntaresOne ROM and gapps, and everything went fine.
Just posting here in case anyone in the future goes througyht the same hassle.
Thank you so much for your work Antares.
