hi guys i have a Galaxy S4 i9505 from O2, UK. Recently I have tried to change the rom then i got the phone rooted and installed CWM recovery ,after that i have tried variuos google edition Roms but non of them are working and they get stuck on the boot screen .i was wondering did i miss something or is related to my phone which is locked to O2 carrier ?but phone works properly on other TW roms. sorry to bother u guys but i have searched a lot which was pointless ,thanks
hey first of all the CWM recovery seems to be very buggy so u should use the Phliz Recovery. And another question: did u made a full wipe before u flashed the Rom? when not flash the Rom again with a full wipe

What ROM did you have on it before you tried to flash the stock ROM and what ROM did you attempt to flash?
How did you attempt to flash it... Odin, Mobile Odin, CWM (if CWM, which CWM recovery did you use exactly)?
Did you do a full wipe, format data, system, etc. before attempting to flash?
The more details you can provide, the better your chances are of getting help.
Loss of sound and wifi is the classic sign of bootloader problems.

search the forum n there are many useful posts for getting back to recovery like very detailed posts so search the first before creating new threads ...
if nothing helps like when u tried everything then go to local repair shop .. , they will charge max 40$ but that will save ur warranty.
Hi all,
I have a Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 with a carrier rom and I want to have the samsung official rom.
I downloaded the stock from from this link: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=29362
I tried flashing it with odin V3.09, but when the phone loads it is still with the carrier's rom...
How can I completely remove the carrier's rom and have only the Samsung offical stock rom ?
Should I use Philz recovery to install the rom from zip after a factory reset ?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can't because the bootloader is locked down.
There's still no way to unlock the bootloader right now.

I'm not sure what you want, exactly. The 'carrier' version of TouchWiz isn't super different from the 'standard' TouchWiz. Maybe a few apps are added and the correct APNs and stuff are included. But the base ROM is still TouchWiz.
You can get custom TouchWiz roms that have more features than the stock one, but that look and perform just like the stock one. Those are carrier debloated (usually)
Or you can just root the phone and manually remove all the carrier bloat that you don't like and give yourself a 'pure Touchwiz' rom.
If none of that appeals to you there is also AOSP roms, which have none of the TouchWiz UI and look like like a Nexus device.

Hi mate ,
ILO is the unbranded version , should not have any of the carriers bloatware on it ..but it will have Samsungs....
Did the flashing went ok? if you still have philz recovery installed after flashing something went wrong
BTW bootloader is not locked.
Flashing went fine but with no change at all

Hi,
Thanks for your help.
The flashing went fine, but the loaded up like I haven't flashed it.
It was the same like before I flashed it...

Hi mate ,
After flashing what recovery you have installed?
Any Odin errors during flashing?
Check this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
Flash the rom with PIT file ( any of the ones you see there) then after you confirm that the flashing went ok flash the ILO firmware
Hello Guys;
First i want to apologize for my bad english.
I have some problems with my device and want to reset all to default and update my s6edge+ to the last version.
I got my phone in the first days and do the first possible root with the arter97 kernel.
This is my device now:
Android 5.1.1
G928F version
3.10.90-arter97 kernel.
I want a stock kernel, the newest android for this device (which is it? didnt see the tree in the forest) and just simple root but all other original.
How i have to go now? please help me...
I want the clean way, no problem if i loose something but if i can avoid this, it would be nice. (whats the best way today to save my data?)
Best greetings
Daniel
Use odin and flash the latest firmware for your model at sammobile.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ (firmware)
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24533103863142212 (odin)
Have I do a full wipe/Factory reset first?
Whats with the arter97 kernel?
Thanks for help
The wipe is up to you. I always wipe before putting anything new on just to be safe.
I think putting the firmware on with odin does wipe anyway, but not 100% sure.
As for the kernel, I haven't used that one. I use either skyhigh or audax kernels.
