[Q] Charge HD2 while its off?

I want to recalibrate my battery, so for that i need to completely charge the phone while its off. as we all know we cant because of mgadlr autobooting. so how can i charge my phone completely and have it off?

i have doent he wipe batterystats. but last week i noticed my battery drain got a little fast.
and when i wipe the battery stats witht he emulator. i get the batterystats.bin not found or something liek that point is that the file is not there.

why u want to do this with emulator?
it works easily with the recovery.
in my opinion it doesnt make so much difference, it should be important that you dont wipe battery stats when ur on 50% but when its only some % its not so important. we should wait until they fix it in magldr.

if you're gonna wipe the battery stats you should do it right when the battery is at 100% charged, so it can create a new one starting with the 100% value when you delete it, and run the phone down to almost 0% charge so it can set that value as lowest, and that should take care of that.

When I wipe the stats I type everything in the emulator while it is plugged in as soon I pull the plug I hit enter. I still get the no file found mesesage. And in CWM when I go to advance and wipe that stats I don't get the message batter stats wiped. Any ideas.

Simplest way to calibrate your Battery [for root users only]

I noticed that in CWM 3 (on gingerbread running device), when u click on wipe battery stats in CWM, Nothing happens while in old CWM's when we use to click on wipe battery stats, we get a message "battery stats wiped successfully".
So to wipe my battery stats, i found a software in android market called "battery calibration"
Just download this software from market (its free) and you will get your results.

I plugged in the cable to get to 100% charge (4250mV), I clicked "Battery Calibration" then waited until it was done and unplugged the phone. Then it was at 99% wtf. What does this mean? Is my battery calibrated now or what?

Multiple posts on here full battery reads 100-97%
Battery is only calibrated after battery stats wiped battery drained and charged to 100% then phone used for two weeks .

Thanks for the info, man. So, now that I have calibrated with this app, I just have to drain the battery to 0% - then the phone turns off automatically - and recharge till 100%, then it's calibrated? Woah
PS: Do i have to recharge my phone while it is on or better while it is off?

Galaxy S 2.2.1 firmwares never show 100% battery life when not on charger. As soon as u unplug ur charger the level will drop to 96% or something. Reconnect ur phone to charger again and after 5 mins it ll again show 100% than again as soon as u unplug it, the level drop down to anywhere more than 96%.
just untick wait for 100% option in battery calibration software and ur battery ll be calibrated. do once ur phone is fully charged and once when ur battery level is just 1-2%

Actually its down to the modem version you run.
I ran one modem version that gave me excellent battery life (near on two days of constant use and only 50% drain. Also it STAYED at 100% for about 20 minutes after unplugging if i didnt use the phone, when i used this modem.
The problem is that to get better battery life you have to compromise on signal quality on the modem. The less battery the modem uses usually results in less signal strength, because its not using as much power to find its mast.

read #11 in "Getting the most out of your SGS" thread. That section is on why it's not good to overcharge your battery.
11. Do NOT overcharge
--Why, when, where: Almost all new batteries have an overcharging protection. This means that the protection that is built into the battery will not let it charge to 100%. This is a feature, not a bug! This will help prolong your battery life while also keeping it safe from overheating/explosion/etc. Do not try to trick it and unplug and plug again until you see 100%, just get used to the fact that you can't have 100% battery anymore and live with it, or you risk destroying your battery.

My device only goes upto 4170mV.

[Q] Battery won't charge over 60%

Since few days ago, im using PCFighters rom. And, I have problem with charging, my battery wont charge above 50-60%. I tried deleting battery stats from recovery; i tried bump charging (although i cant charge phone while its turned off - CM7 "feature" ), i tried some method form XDA (charge phone, delete battery stats, reboot phone, remove battery from phone while rebooting, and phone still on cord etc) - but nothing works...
Battery itself lasts like usuall, 24-30hours, but this is really annoying... and, here is pic of battery usage, you can see how it oscilates on far left side, while charging, 50-60%, and thats it...
Any solution?

There are 2 possible solutions:
1. Re Flash the ROM, let it reach all load until phone turn off, charge to 100%, then Calibrate Batt, then reach the load to 0% again, then charge the batt. If the charge stay on 60%, unplug and plug your charger continuously from the outlet energy.
2. Replace your battery with a new one.

this problem have a simple solution you must download "battery calibration" or "battery calibrator" and when the phone is charged (60%) you must click the button .. if this doesn't work you can enter in recovery---> advanced---> wipe battery states

Done this already, not working (both ways)... ill reflash ROM today, and we will see does it works
Edit:
Not working... flashed ROM again, cleared dalvik/cache etc, left battery to drain out - but it wont charge over ~50% :/

also for me the charging stopped at 90% and with calibration I solved the problem :S

Thats How I Do It

I need to flash the latest recovery.img CWM v5.0.2.7 first and then wipe battery stats.

With Battery Callibration app see how high is battery voltage, when is at 60%, then share here with us.

OK, ill check it tommorow morning and type it here... thx, imenjak

After 10 hours of charging, baterry is at 52% or 3729mV... i tryed unplug/plug in for a few times, but now it wont go over 52%.

Finally the following steps helped me:
- I flashed the latest CWM recovery.img v5.0.2.7
- Boot into Recovery and did:
- "wipe cache partition"
- Inside "Advanced" both did "Wipe Dalvik Cache" and "Wipe Battery Stats"
- Power Off
- removed batterie and waited at least 5 minutes
- inserted batterie and used GT540 until it's fully empty
- charged GT540 again
- Voila: "charged 100%"

If nothing helps, try to backup your current ROM, install a different one (for example Froyo or stock Eclair) and if the same thing happens (also after calibration) then you will know for sure that the problem is hardware nature and your battery is dying. But if on different ROM you have normal battery charging then its a very weird bug.

OK, i have CWM V4.0.1.4; and never took battery for 5min or more.... first I will try with battery, than with new CWM; and on the end with another ROM... TY all for advices

Well, problem is solved... funny, but problem was in charger, or data-cable :/ With new charger, I have no more this stupid problem

[HOWTO]wipe Battery Stats

When i must wipe my Battery Stats?
Always when you Flash a new Rom or Reflash the rom you must have to wipe your Battery Stats to have the best Battery life from your Device.
How to wipe Battery Stats?
1. charging the battery FULLY
2. boot device to CWM Recovery
3. advanced/Wipe Battery Stats
4. reboot device
5. don't charge the device until the battery still turns off your device because it empty (do not drain with heavy apps like video streaming ect.)
6. now again FULLY charge without interruption
7. Have fun ^^

I have woundered why it didn't work on my phone and that was becuse i charged it while i wiped it and i didn't let it drain all the battery

well...you can also wipe that in the xRecovery if you have it
the reason of wiping it is because the battery status will not be accurate.
also, if you found your battery is draining, try to wipe it, then check the running services if there are too much apps running in the background~

wipe it when battery has 100% and after you flashed new rom

The better and easiest way is with battery calibration.apk

actually, it usually takes a longer time for the battery to get from 99% to 100%
the reason is... idk...
but even thought it is 99%, it takes a shorter time to consume the battery than it is charged to 100%
thats my experience

If you read the phone manual, it says that happens because it is expanding battery life... (??)

after you wipe the battery stats and reboot your device you have to wait untill your device battery is empty and the phone turned off by herself. 0% battery . After device turned off by herself, charge your device again to 100% without any interruption like reboot or unplug power plug.
Understand? Please excuse my english is not as well.

That's what I don't understand. After I Wipe Battery Stat and reboot the device. I'm waiting, and She's not turned off by herself but I skip Step 5. and everything works. still 73% after 2 hours ...

1. Charge the phone (100%)
2. Wipe battery stats
3. Reboot the phone
4. Now use the phone until the battery has gone from 100% to 0% (when the battery reaches 0%, it will turn off by itself)
5. Now charge the phone 100% again without interruptions (don't even touch it)
When battery level has reached 100% (not 99%), you may use your phone again.

Hi,
I've recently replaced my battery and now it is not charging fully to 100% but only to 85%. Sometimes it displays it is fully charged but after a minute the percentage dropped to 85%. I've already tried multiple chargers with no result. The only thing that works is bump charging. It looks like the battery is just working fine but the displayed percentage is not right. Is there a way to 'reset' this statistic? Removing the battery.bin didn't do anything for me.
Is there a way to check if the battery is really fully charged despite the wrong displayed percentage?

To fix what you are doing you have to be rooted.
1. Root your n4
2. Download root browser from playstore
3. Go to data/system directory and delete batterystats.bin
4. Accept superuser access
5. Reboot and let the battery drain till 0%
Anyway, I don't know if it will be a battery calibration issue, because if u had to replace your previous battery maybe your phone doesn't manage battery well and destroy them... Try, report, and we will make conclusions

I just deleted it, it's worth a try!
The weird thing is bump charging will result in a 100% charge and the battery seems to work normally (20hours of battery time with normal use).

It will be a battery calibration issue since that file only stores the statistics of apps. It gets deleted upon reboot. So this won't affect the measurements in any way.

Connect the charger to the Nexus 4, then insert the plug.
Press the power button and hold it until the device turns on. Immediately after this, press and hold the Volume Down key, not releasing the power button. Appears on the screen Start, circled arrow.
Pressing the Volume Down key, select Power off and activate it by pressing the power button.
When the phone is turned off, unplug the charger and plug it in again. then turn on the phone.

Both solutions didn't work for me. Is there a way to confirm that even if Android displays a value of 85% the battery is fully charged? Because I don't care that much wrong percentage is displayed, I just wanna know for sure the battery is ok.

you should try reflashing your rom

Wipe cache, dalvik cache and battery stats in recovery then fix permissions and reboot.

Or restart your phone and battery stats will reset.
