FM Radio - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone throw up the stock FM Radio APK. I must have deleted it in my rush to remove the pre-installed bloat.

Thanks. I could have sworn I saw it listed on a spec sheet somewhere.

There is one, at least in the international model. I'd be really surprised if it wasn't in at least the att model though likely not enabled in the kernel

I have it on my HTC One X+ from ATT but to be honest, never used it once! I'm sure there's some people out there with a need for such but the regular user i doubt will ever use this feature. Probably why most phones don't have it, feature hardly used...

The reason most carrier branded phones have it disabled is because they want you to stream music and use more data.

I use it on my One X to listen to the radio broadcast of college football games while I'm in the stadium.
It can also come in handy if a storm knocks out the power.

The Snapdragon 800 has FM radio support built in. That won't matter if the pins aren't connected to anything, though, which they may or may not be.

I know the international version has FM Radio built-in with an app. I think AT&T just removed the app from the phone like they did with the One X.

Its more than that..... Look at the G Pro... Its Speced all over having an FM radio.. But does it?? No! Its been confirmed the hardware is there but its grounded out.

LG G2 has FM Radio!. It is just disabled in some countries by LG. Flash an open stock ROM. Your radio will show up!

Unfortunately SpiritFM not working. It needs to be configured for the device. Luckyly, installing the proper open official rom for the model makes the fm radio working.

So that means the korean ones also have it?Cant see any open firmw for koreans tho...

Yes Korean model also has fm radio. Check google. I dont know which korean model firmware is open since i cant try. Mine is international version.

XDA has little or no development for that phone. You may want to post on Android General or Unlocking/Moding fora
As for who here has it...me thinks no one. I just asked ElGoog about to root your phone and came up with a handful of links.
Cheers,
I am also interested. I've successfully rooted my MS 870 but its wierd that there isn't even a forum thread for that model.
I've looked around aplenty is there some sort of secret boycott going on here?
Don't get me wrong I'd probably throw it back at ghettro if XDA developer told me to.

Hey guys, I don't have this phone, sister does. Her bf rooted it, and it now either takes a REALLY long time to read and prepare the SD card or just doesn't at all. 16GB Trascend MicroSD card, anywho, I put in my S3, reads it fine, and her bf put it in his phone, also picks up and reads fine. Formatted the card through Windows, Clockwork, and even check disk on windows with still no luck. Phone is brand new and shes just one to get frustrated easily when things aren't understood. Someone out there to shed some light on this subject? Thanks.

Okay, not to upset you too much, but the Rogers version does NOT have a locked bootloader. I think it's ONLY the AT&T version. Normally, Rogers, Telus and Bell have similar if not identical devices.
Unfortunately, though, since most developers are in the U.S., they generally work on AT&T devices, so even though our bootloader is not locked, we'll probably have to wait for the issue to be resolved on AT&T first before we see any recoveries, ROMs, etc.
Peter

Any 4.4 ROMs with knock off built in that are stable? Really looking for nav bar cursers too.
I was spoiled coming from the Gnex ROM scene, and my wife's Nexus 5.
I haven't had xposed problems, but what slow down are you talking about? Open to listening.
There are plenty of roms, aospa,cm11, aosp variants...
If you ever have a chance, compare two same phones one with and one without xposed. You will see xposed adds almost a second slowdown when opening/loading apps

The Z2 is on the Sony USA website! I can't link directly to it, but if you go to www.sony.com and click on the picture of the smartphone to the right of the a6000 camera and left of the PS4, it's the XPERA Z2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look at the link carefully, though, it's on the global site, not the us one. However, the phone does seem to support some us networks like tmobile and att, since their particular frequencies are listed as compatible in the specs.

I have no clue. I don't think you need to grant access. That app used to be bundled with Samsung. So I don't distrust them. I do like it more then the stock LG version. I just hate the ads. Never used to be like that on the S5. The ads "could" be useful to some. It shows when good boxing matches will be on, ect.
