Suggested bloatware to remove? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm an adb novice but I don't wanna trip the root checker even tho I'm on TMO so I wanna dump these bloat apps via adb. I know the rm command but what is the file path for apps and where can I find the file names of all the sucky non removable apps?

I'm on att, but it's usually /system/app. I must say, however, as a novice, perhaps you should use the mv command to rename instead.

[Q] Can I delete busybox free, quick boot and supersu after rooting?

As per title, Can I delete busybox free, quick boot and supersu after rooting?
I have used the video title on youtube: How to Root the Google Nexus 4 - Latest, to root my device, was just wondering if I were able to delete those files after rooting or are they required? (I'll be installing ParanoidAndroid soon).
Thanks.
No they aren't required but what's the purpose of rooting if your gonna delete the app that's essential to being rooted?

Alright thanks.
I was just asking since I can save some space. I don't understand why I would require them still, since I've made a custom backup etc;

If you want to use root apps busy box(usually) needs to be installed and super user is a requirement.

Have you run busybox and then used it's installer?
Your supposed to do that once.
Use root uninstaller to delete any app. Keep su

[Q] App 2 SD

I would like to save files for big games like gameloft etc. on my external sd card. But this isn't possible. On the S3 you could relize this with directory bind or Foldermount, but on the s4 it doesn't work.
any ideas?
That's becouse your device might not be rooted.
When there is an easy root for the s4 and you are rooted directory bind will work.
No, my device is rooted with Su and busybox installed!
Well I started testing with directorybind. It doesn't work for some reason. I'm rooted, using the same method as on my note 2 but for some it doesn't work? Wth?
Anyone having the same issue?

I've got a similar problem. I used my own scripts on an SD card and got Script Manager to execute them on boot. Now SM does not run the mount commands.....not from the SD card and not from /data with correct permissions either. I can ssh into the device and run them just fine but SM can't to it. It DOES execute a mkdir and a sleep command as the end of the script so the script runs WITHOUT the mount commands....not sure what to make of that but could be related.
Did the two people who rooted above tty folder mount?

Why? Because they like phones with ridiculously low amounts of internal storage?

I don't think ANYTHING is working on the SGS4 at the moment. Devs are working on this. Thanks for nothing Google and Samsung...
The dev of Foldermount is working on the issue.
Tried that app and that app actually works until you reboot your phone and then it's gone again for some reason
I would settle with an internal to sd swap like on the s3 and note2.
But that ain't done yet so we'll have to wait.

Are you rooted?
If yes, then placing the apk in /system/app MIGHT do it.
It's been a while since I've had to do this, so my memory is a bit hazy on if that's all you have to do.

If you do this, best back up the original first.
Also you MUST set the permissions to 644

I've done that and still no luck.
Even if I put the original back where it needs to be I'm still missing the original Samsun keyboard.
Feel like I'm missing a step or doing something wrong.
I'm using es file explorer, Root explorer enabled and changed permissions after copying to system/apps.
Any other advice, am I missing a step?

Same hear, tried everything I can think of. It must be dependent on something from the new Firmware that's not in older ones.
Put your original Samsung keyboard back and restart and you will have the original one back.

Thanks, tried pushing both of those to the priv—app folder and changing permission and ownership but they still don't show up in the app drawer. Anything I am missing?

4.4.4 update won't install

I've gotten the notification for the 4.4.4 OTA twice and when I tap to install, it reboots into TWRP and nothing else happens.
I've included a screenshot of the error it gives me. 4.4.3 installed flawlessly without a hiccup. I don't understand what is happening now.
BTW, phone is on stock, rooted and as you can see, I've got TWRP.
I think the /system verify check is failing due to modified contents. Flash stock 4.4.3 /system partition through fastboot and try to apply the ota again.

You're cloudprint2 apk is either a non-system app (missing?) or has been modified somehow
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Just did a search for the apk/app and I don't seem to have it on my system. My guess is I need to install the Cloud Print app from Play?
Yup, you can try that. If you still get errors, instead of hunting down every problem present, it would be a lot easier to return system to stock.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
Well, I've installed the Google Cloud Print app. Now I have to wait a few days to get the OTA update notification again and see if it goes through.
What is a bit puzzling is the fact that I had no issues updating to 4.4.3
You could just download the 4.4.4 ota zip from here and flash it through TWRP. Much faster and the same thing.

OK, I think I might have to go this route because after stubbornly getting the apk to change permissions and to move the file to the system>app folder, I ran the zip file and got yet another error... I really do not understand.
I have done nothing to my phone aside from adding an app or two since the 4.4.3 OTA....
Yup, much easier to flash the system image than to hunt down every error present.
