For ROMs - go to development section and that will answer that. There are 5+ battery life threads as well as endless amounts of reviews with pros cons. Not trying to be a prick, but good Lord there are pages and pages of threads on these forums to look through that have all of your answers.
Read the forums fully and make your decision.
There are/have been Multitouch issues (resolved for some, not for all) , gps issues (resolved for most), random restart/reboot issues (not resolved). There are other ones that I have likley missed but these are the ones that seem to consume most discussions still.
I want to love the N7 but the random restart issue is a pain for me.
The HW specs are awesome, the price is great but there are still bugs. This fall there seem to be many many good devices coming out but this is the best price point.
If I hadnt purchased it I would personally consider the LG 8.3 Tablet at a higher cost.

Your snotty attitude stinks m8 I was out shopping at the time and had a good idea what the nexus was like, And did not have an hour or so to do my research. I was looking for a quick educated answer so I could purchase whilst at high street. Tell me if you just joined XDA with low or little post count would your reply to my post be the same? Look m8 just because your post count is quite high don't make you a hard man or think you can talk down to others! Blokes like you m8 I would love to meet in a pub, not trying to be a prick (TWAT)

I fail to see how your sexual preferences in meeting guys at the pub remotely relates to being called out for a clearly entitled and lazy attitude toward doing a very basic search that anyone with half a brain could perform in thirty seconds.
Buy one. Don't buy one. Nobody cares. Do you also need to be told when to change your underwear, mate?
What a nob grow up. Can't stand **** heads behind a screen that think there hard, what I meant by the pub was comments like that would of ernt you a smack in the gob

This was a simple question. I know no one wants my opinion, but everyone needs to calm down and keep it light in here. We read these topics in the forums here to relax and learn more about our techie toys - not to get all stressed out regarding comments and whatnot. Just my 2 cents.
I bought the N7 myself and I never had ANY issue with it that some users have described. It's super fast, the screen is beautiful, fits nicely in my hand (unlike some others like the note series), plays games nicely, movies look great on it, etc. I could go on, but suffice to say, I'm pretty happy. I bought some cases, accessories on eBay and am a happy camper. Let us know what you decided.
I haven't had any of the common problems yet, not even the random reboots, but I only bought mine last week in a Curry's in the UK so perhaps it's a newer hardware revision than the ones with multi-touch problems and the like, I don't know enough about the cause of the multi-touch problems to say that for sure.
The only real gripe I have is with YouTube - fullscreen quality is atrocious, nowhere near 1080p, and on such a high resolution device it just looks rubbish.
Thanks for replying, the 16GB version I was reading upon says there suffering slow downs on only 3gb left in storage is this a common problem, and is it a small bug that is likely to get ironed out thanks.

I wanted to buy a N7 (2012) first, changed my mind though after having read the news about the latest modell and waited instead This device sure has some bugs but in my opinion it´s worth the price. Though you may see some weird multitouch behaviour while using test tools ( and eg. more than 5 fingers ), you can still use it without noticing any problems.
I did not experience any random reboots ( I´ve debloatet the Stock ROM and removed Chrome and everything I don´t need ), the battery life is ok too ( depending on how you use your device, 7h screen on without any problems ).
Sure this device has some flaws you may have to live with but considering the price you had to pay for it, it´s still worth the money and hopefully Google will provide us with some bugfixes...sooner or later.
The main reason I bought this device was the fantastic display ( 1920x1200 on a 7" display... you will have a very hard time if you even try to spot a pixel.. )

Hello members, so i was reading about the GooPhone that is supposedly patented with the Iphone 5 design in China. They are apparently ready to sue apple once the phone is released.
Anyway it led me to a site that has android/windows/blackberry devices.
Now they seem legit, have looked around and seen that there are some reviews, only negative comments are about the long shipping.
My question is, has anyone here ever ordered from this site.
http://www.fastcardtech.com/
I was interested in maybe ordering a device playing with it for a while, then maybe sending to a dev to see if the components would match that of its US counterpart to see if custom ROMS would be able to be installed.
So please read, look, get interested, and chat about the site!!!!

If she really doesn't do anything on it then I would get out for her because 512mb of ram is the same a an IPhone which has fast enough speed for every day tasks not sure if she will need more than 4GB of space but there is a microsd slot up to 32GB so that might help 1GHz processor is beyond overkill for what you said she does so sure why not!

After some careful research, and some digging into chinese forums. These phones are complete fakes.
It seems that they may not ever make it stateside. They also have IMEI problems, so they may work for a week, but after that they seem to start having disconnect problems. Also looks like the GPS will not work, being that it is based in China satelittes will not transmit here.
I almost bought one today, like 3 times, but after more and more digging, I have decided not too.
This seems to be a complete scam. There are a bunch of sites claiming fraudulent accounts among the site as well.
What seemed so nice quickly slips away.

Ouch... Buzzkill... Guess I should've done a little more digging before posting those sites. BTW, do you have any reference links?
I first went on www.fastcardtech.com/forums and was reading the results of users. Alot sounded pretty upset. Although there are not very many replies, there are some feedback.
I asked a question about a device, and then asked the same question again 2days later, and got a different answer. I will do it again, and get a screen shot so that I can show you all. There was another forum in XDA about the site, there are some saying its legit, others not so much.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561534
Will post back with more.
I am still considering ordering one, just havent decided yet. I know as soon as I do that they will announce the Note 2 for Tmobile.
I have found a few more credible sites, there is,
www.koobay.com
www.exportandgo.com
Upon searching the fastcardtech site brands devices to companies that dont actually have these devices. For instance, I have found the HDC (china phone maker) and they list their products, then you reference the FTC site and there are thousand of HDC branded devices that are not actually HDC brand!
I've seen an apple S4 by them. The screen res is terrible.it had virtually no memory. Build was terrible. Do not waste your money. I'm sure no rom with work on them.

I suggest you use the search function. There are hundreds of threads about the pros and cons. There are also multiple reviews to be found on the web.
Pros
- Cheap
- Vanilla Android
- Updates for at least 18 months)
- Great developer community
- Cheap
- Really cheap
- Nice screen, fast, whatever
- Great design
Cons:
- Only 8GB/16GB storage, no SD card, no USB OTG support (all storage related)
- Fragile design (just don't drop it on concrete. or bite on it)
- no LTE
- no way to actually buy it
We need more information. If you want to know about specific things, just ask. But we can't really do anything with "give me the pros and cons" other than to say what has been said a million of times.

Nah, it's alright. Forgive me if I sounded harsh. It's just that I think us listing some pros and cons won't really help you. I suggest you read an extensive review from gsmarena or android police. What's also great is to just look through thread here at XDA. Just read. Go look in the development section, see what they're up to. Go to the Q&A section to see what the common problems are. Go to the general section for opinion or maybe to see how the battery life is. If you do these things, you really get to know the pros and cons, and you can make a good decision.

I think the biggest issue I have in general with the N4. I came from a Galaxy Note and I miss those buttons (back/home/search) on the bottom of the screen and not part of the display. It isn't a deal breaker by any means, but if given the choice I would prefer a setup more like the SGS3.
Would I trade out for an SGS3 for that reason? Nope.
IMHO:
Pros:
No extra Samsung, HTC or whoever software. No carrier crapware.
Quad-Core / 2GB RAM
Wonderful screen, Feels nice in the hand.
FAST.
Updates when Google finishes them.
Qi charging (if you can find it)
Cons:
No removable battery.
No SD Card slot.
Speaker slot on back is flush with the screen. Lay the phone down flat and sound is nearly muted.
I love the whole no hardware buttons on the phone. So thats a plus for me. I'm thinkin' as soon as I get the money together I'm gonna buy one.

No. Google are selling faulty products hence why they are so cheap. And again, no, google are not choosing to update their own tablets. It's about as smooth as sand paper.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk 2
Google Play store prices are almost always the cheapest for Nexus devices. Amazon and the like are using the fact that the 32gb model is always out of stock to push up the prices.
It's a pretty stable product - I've kept away from modding mine (yet!) and have had only one time when I had to reboot it -got stuck trying to change a lockscreen widget. Worked on the second attempt.

Thanks a lot for the reply, i was just wondering why amazon and ebay still sell them so high when stocks are building up in google play. I have seen some great benchmark videos but had soooo much trouble with the so called "powerfull" onda that I wondered if any tab is quick enough.
Can't compare it to other tabs but it makes my Galaxy Nexus look really slow and that's overclocked with custom rom and kernel.

Absolutely loved my nexus 5. Was a great phone but I wanted a bigger screen. I really thought about the OPO for a while and finally pulled the trigger. Two days in and in couldn't be happier. Battery life is insane, camera is so much better, feels way lighter, double the storage, and I got it for the same price I sold my nexus for.
Only cons I see so far is 3rd party accessories are lacking big time and doesn't seem to be as many ROMs but stock rooted is working great for me anyways. So glad I went this route.

Just be patient. Due to the whole invite system, these phones are not that popular at the moment. Once they will become easily available for everyone, I'm sure the accessories market will explode.
As to the "slim offer" of ROMS you're refering to... You should have another look really, as there are quite allot of them.

I cant wait to get mine in the mail. I am currently using a Nexus 5 so this is great to hear.
Feels way lighter though its 30grams heavier? Wow... that's a huge difference for a phone.

I may even keep this phone as my backup when the Nexus 6 drops instead of selling it towards the purchase cost.
