I'm sorry if it has been posted before, but I truly need some help! I don't know where to turn to.
I'm not an avid android user and only got my Nexus 4 on Friday. I decided to root it today, and everything was fine until I decided to download Franco's kernal on the play store. It crashed my Nexus, and ever since it's been stuck on the Google Screen!
I've tried everything in the Nexus Root Toolkit but nothing has worked! Please offer me some simple suggestions!
Recovery mode gives me nothing but a dead android wit a red exclamation mark!

thank you! thank sweet baby lord jesus! thank life u saved my day with the usb 3 to 2 switch bro
edit again: got stoked for nothing, even with the recovery menu im stuck at the google screen, what else can i do?
edit: i figured if i could boot the recovery.img i could boot the boot.img too. booted the boot.img and it worked ! thanks for the help and your inputs cheers!~!

Hey guys, I am having trouble flashing a new rom onto my phone. I used to flash my Galaxy S3 almost every day, and for some reason, I am having trouble with the S4. I have rooted it, and installed Team Win Recovery Project v2.5.0.2 and sometimes the Rom will flash and work, like PA worked first time, so did MIUI Rom, but trying Most of the others they either say failed, or... they go through the whole installation process through the Recovery for Android Revolution HD, and then it boot loops, take battery out, put back in and wipe everything and it just stays on the first Samsung Logo and that's it.
Is there something I am missing?
I am wiping eveyrthing as well before I do it.
Any help will be really appretiated
Thanks

My bad lol, in work and was typing fast.
Basically, when I flashed ParanoidAndroid on my phone, and it worked great, then I changed it to MIUI which worked great,
then I decided to Flash Omega Rom, which was fine, but the WIFI doesn't work for me.
So I tried to Flash Android Revolution and it goes through the Installation Process with no problems and goes into Boot Loop, even though I have done a full wipe of the device.
I am in the middle of Flashing Android Revolution now, for the 3rd time, and it has been on 10% installation for 10 minutes. This is all it says at the moment...

Sorted, thanks anyway.
Just incase someone else is in the same situation,
All I did was take the battery out for 30 minutes or around that time, and just flash the rom, I didn't wipe or anything else, just flashed and done.
For people having Wifi issues, flash a different Kernel like Adam Kernel, that seems to work for me.

Hy! I'm pretty much a newbie and i got a problem. I just bought an Nexus 4 which has a recovery installed, called Team Win recovery project. My phone downloaded automaticaly twice the 4.3 update, but when it restarts to install it, the Team Win recovery menu appears, and i can't find any way to install the new update. Also, after a factory reset, the phone lacks ANY browser or music player, and the Google Play icon is changed (has a smile instead).
Please help me! I just want to have ALL things stock so i can use the phone as from factory and install the 4.3 update. Later on, i will learn how to install roms and tweak things.
Thanks in advance!

There isnt any simpler way? That looks way too complicated....I thought that there is a return to stock kind of thing...
Thanks anyway!
@vasi.utziu
If you're scared of fastboot commands, you can always use a toolkit.
Check the stickies of Nexus 4 Original Android Development.
Of course by doing it manually you'll gain better ability to tweak the phone in the future...

as far as i know, and that can be wrong, if your android is untouched (no root or anything else (like xposes framwork)) you will get the update over the air.
BUT if you don't there are factory images that you can download and flash your phone quite easily
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/how-to-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2010312
or a toolkit to do it automatically
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/how-to-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2010312
i would recommend to do it with the first method. if something goes wrong you will know what is it and you can ask for help. with the toolkit if something goes wrong things are more complicated to find the error.
P.S. if you decide installing the factory images via console (first option), it is highly recommended to read the entire process first and after do the procedure.
My phone is rooted, but i dont have any custom ROMs or framework , will this affect it? Or when I get the update my root will simply be gone?

You'll lose root and the custom recovery with the ota. But if you haven't modified / deleted any system files you should get the ota.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
I've searched some threads and some said you don't get ota if you have clockwork mod (I have it) and I really don't know what to do...should I go back to stock? I'm not good with that stuff and afraid I will brick it, any ideas or advice?

You should be ok. If you're really worried about cwm you could flash the stock recovery image in fastboot. But I wouldn't unless the ota fails, which it shouldn't

Thank you one more question, will I still get ota notification ? As in, it might fail but will I still receive like I would normally?

Alright, thank you again for clearing things up!
It's also worth noting that Google pushes update at different times depending on which area you live in, so even if you read on the news that Lollypop is released on the Nexus 4, it may take a while for your phone to receive the OTA.
Personally, I advice you to install TWRP recovery, its safe and easy to install kernels and roms
Title says it all.
I tried flashing the 3 latest versions of SuperSU with no luck.
I'm using CWM to flash it and it goes well, but as soon as I boot my N4 - bam, no root.
Didn't have this issue with Android L Dev Preview. Everything went smooth as silk.
Am I the only one having this issue? Does anyone know of a solution?
Thanks in advance
i can't rooted android 5.0 releaded.

Good to know! Lollipop FEVER!
I found a *****en ROM named Nameless in the f/g variants of the Note 4. Was all psyched to flash it and play with it only to realize there's data issues. Is there any body who knows how to fix the data issue or maybe properly port this to our device?

T_T I'm not sure of what to search for. For branded roms it's relatively easy, but as an INT'L ROM I'm not sure if my process would work. So it's just some obscure file? I was thinking it may be because I flashed something wrong. No chance you can remember where you think you may have seen it? Like xda or another site?

I have been trying my hardest, asking on every forum i can find, to find out how to get the beta release of emotion kernel R24 for N910T. Not one single response.....but anyway. It is my understanding that the latest release of Emotion Revolution rom has r24 kernel as an option in aroma. My question is this; would it be possible to unzip the R23 kernel zip for N910T and replace only the R24 boot image from the emotion rom and leave all the other system files. Or would that be a really bad idea? Ha. I just want the kernel on Tekhds URv7. I know this is possible a really stupid question but I'm just now beginning to learn all the technical details of these things. And I will say ahead of time that any answer will be beneficial because I don't know much about how a N910T kernel differs from international as far as data is concerned or what the fix actually fixes when you flash it. But if it has any relwvance my phone is carrier unlocked and i dont even use tmobile. My goal is to learn something new everyday without hard bricking my baby like I did my N900A. I'm not by any means new to rooting but am very new to having a device that I can actually play with. Thanks in advance and us noobies appreciate everybodys patience.
