So I got the LG G2 F320s Korean variant. I used one click root method and everything was going fine. Then I wanted to further remove bloatware by uninstalling system apps and I accidently removed something called "Multitasking" via an app called Root Uninstaller. Everything was still fine but then I noticed that some system apps including, Dialler, Messaging, and Gallery all stopped working it would force close as soon as i try to launch them. I freaked so i downloaded third party replacements but i wanted to fix the problem so i decided i'd do a factory reset thinking it would remove the root and bring everything back to normal.
Boy was i wrong! Because I had most of the stuff either removed or frozen and had mostly 3rd party apps for everything, now I can't even use a keyboard to sign into google, or have a navi bar to get around the phone! no back no home no nothing! The phone is practically useless. I need help please. I wanna reset it back to stock with or without root it doesn't matter but I need all the stock system apps and tweaks back up and running.
Help me please.... someone..... i beg you....... my G2...........:crying::crying::crying:
First Of all.. Don't Panic.
And please EDIT the text to normal. The bigger texts wont solve your problems.
First go to the Development section and check the thread "Installing Stock ROM on the LG G2".

awesome this is just what i need downloading right now hoping it works. Do you know if I could revert to European stock rom instead of the initial Korean one? I have the Korean F320s, it would be cool if i could flash the D820 Stock rom instead.

Hi guys
I was trying to change my battery icon using the file here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13688277&postcount=87
I overwrote the original framework-res.apk and the reboot.
But now as soon as my phone starts and tries to show the home screen i get a dialog box saying:
"The application %1$s (process %2$s) has stopped... The process Status bar has stopped unexpectedly Please try again".
It then immediately restarts, i cannot get in root explorer to be able to change the framework-res.apk back to original.
Can someone please help! The USB-Debugging is not on i think , but i can't get into the settings to enable it if its off.
What should i do. someone please help.
Rooted SGSII running KE2.
Do i have to follow this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13712988&postcount=1
and flash stock SGSII rom and basically start from scratch with all my apps and settings ? (I really hope not).
please tell me there is an easier way to fix this.
Go to settings > applications > Manage applications > All. Find status bar in the list and press force close and then clear data. Reboot.

I cannot do that. As soon as the Main UI displays (homescreen) , one second after that the phone reboots. homescreen appears frozen too, menu/home/back buttons don't do anything.

i guess the price to pay for being a Android modding rookie is painful manual restoration of how the phone looked!
I hope Market will recognize all the apps i bought (20+) otherwise that's alot of money ($100+) gone down the drain !

You won't lose your purchases, they are tied to your google account even if you switch device.
great, so i went ahead and flashed a stock rom using previous mentioned guide above, strange thing is EVERYTHING is intact! i was under the impression that everything will get wiped out but the only thing i had lost was root and that easily fixed . i am so relived

This is because the SGS2 has /data completely separate from the system.. it only makes a fresh /data if /data is missing. So when you flash just the system, your data is left alone.
thanks for the info RyanZA, i'm glad they way it this way otherwise i would have been screwed.
Yesterday, I got a LG G3, Sprint version. All was well until today, when I tried to root it. I did so successfully, using Stump. I installed a variety of root apps and somehow in one of them disabled the home/back/menu button. I decided at that point to delete all the root apps, because I'm smart like that, in hope that it would be put back to normal. It didn't work, and now I can't do any of that. On top of that, I factory reset the phone (same results) and now I'm stuck with Sprint adware. If anyone could help me fix the menu thing, and maybe get the root things I need to remove the Sprint adware, it would make my <inserttimeunithere>.
Thanks in advance,
Nate
Hi people, i recently bought an lg g2 ls980 , from sprint but it was unlocked and rooted idk what's the problem but every 5 or 6 days I get an notification to install the update, I click at it it reboots and start installing but after 20 sec it reboots again into android, idk what's the problem
If someone can help me please share your thoughts
I think you cqnt update while you are rooted, try flashing the stock one so you unroot and it should work
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
I didnt it i tried to full unroot via supersu and than tried to install but it did the same thing?
NYBODY else an idea
Root it again and restore all bloatware apps
Bloatware apps must be disabled by renaming with .bak
If you are happy as is, you should just disable update reminders in the Update Center app
Update Center -> Software Update -> Disable Check automatically
Or update through the desktop LG Pc Suite. You will loose root though, but the update should go through.
yeah i know how to stop that notification but not happy with this cuz soon the 5.0 coming , gonna try via lg pc suite hope it works thanks dude ?
Updates run a file check before installing. If you have removed any of the bloat apps that you can only remove while rooted, the update will not install.
Check the Sprint thread to see if there is a tot file for repair update (ZVE?) and use that. If you have to restore to factory fresh to take the update you might as well flash the current software.
Edit: Here you go

As the title suggests the play store no longer works on my g2. It is not rooted or modded in any way. Ive tried clearing the play store app along with google play services. That didnt work so i tried to factory reset still to no avail. Someone please help before i throw this crap away.
I'm afraid the same was happening to me, I went back to KitKat and installed CloudyG2 since I was on it.. You could also restore a back-up made using the LG PC Suite.
Good luck!
So i would have to go back to kit kat before doing the backup? And how would I go back to kitkat exactly?
Guess I was replying too early in the morning and wasn't awake just yet Let me explain:
If you would have updated to LolliPop using the LG PC Suite, it would've asked you if you want to create a back-up of your current installation. I meant you could restore this back-up.
If you don't, I've got another idea for you. But I gotta work this out first. Haven't got much time to do this right now, but I'll get onto it later if you want.
That would be great because i have no backup from kitkat so unless i can find a way to fix this im gonna have to get a new phone probably. I cant use 90% of my apps right now. Only google chrome, calling, and texting still work
Could you describe exactly what the Play Store does btw? Does YouTube still work?
For me the Play Store was just showing a blank screen and nothing else.. Just gotta be sure if you've got the same issues as me.
Youtube works fine for some reason. But the play store is working. I can see all the appd and everything, just whenever i try to update or download an app it just continuously says downloading and moves the bar non stop without any change until I stop it. Ive tried wifi vs data and have even let it try to download an update for google play services for over 24 hours.
Hmm that's another thing than I experienced.. But still flashing another ROM could be a solution, if you're fine with that.
However, I'd suggest you back up your current installation first. Either using the LG PC Suite or using a custom recovery. I personally wouldn't go through the hassle of installing a custom recovery when there's another, easier option, but that's up to you.
This is the way I flashed it back to KitKat (and afterwards to the Custom ROM Cloudy G2)
And pay attention, if you use this and something goes terribly wrong, it's at your own risk.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 (I used the KDZ Method)
If you've done that you're set to either flash a Custom ROM or keep your device on stock KitKat.
This is optional however, but I did it because I just like to experiment and tweak my phone
Let me now if you need any further directions, for example installing a Custom ROM
Having the same problem here too. After updating, can't use the Play Store. Tried cleaning cache, data and even removing Google account didn't help. Btw, does all your apps work, especially the ones downloaded from Play Store?
Hello all!
I am very very... very new to rooting so please bear with me. So basically I used KingRoot for an easy rooting process and then went and used an app that gets rid of KingRoot in favor of Super SU (App was called Super SU Me I think, on Play Store).
So one of the first things I did was download the Jrummy font changing app. I found a font I liked and I was prompted to make a backup of my current fonts and to have a nandroid backup as well in case. So I thought, being the noob that I was and still am that I wouldn't need to do such a thing so I just backed up my fonts thinking "good enough". I then reboot my S4 and it gets stuck on the AT&T logo (so a soft brick right?). So, I freak out cause I'm a noob and I din't expect a font change to soft brick my S4. Luckily before rooting I backed up photos and music but anyways I ended up booting into recovery mode and wiping data and the partition cache.
This ended up working (can't remember if it was multiple tries) and I got back to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop but was greeted with an "Unfortunately, Samsung Keyboard has stopped working." I thought this must be because of the font change so I maneuver to settings (with the error for the keyboard popping up every time I close it by tapping "OK") and change the default keyboard to Swype and that stopped the error from popping up. I then go to change the font and it says "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped working." or something like that and kicks me out of settings. So somewhere down the line I restart my phone and the process keeps repeating so I have to access my phone by factory resetting it in recovery mode and clearing the partition cache or whatever and then I can use android but the keyboard error keeps popping up every time.
I guess you could say I'm freaking out and I definitely guess you can say I'm a total noob at this.
BTW: I have no recoveries or anything so basically stuck with what I have. Also I tried a program called "_Hovatek__Auto_Font_Unbricker_V1.0 " and that didn't work even when I got the green text running in the program or whatever.
Please help! This is really bad I know!

Can you do that with android 5.0.1? I don't know if I can downgrade in order to restore to stock.

The last full firmware release for AT&T S4 was NB1. After that, there is only incremental updates (OTA) to lollipop. There is no full firmware release for android 5.0.1. As such if we screwed something up, we all have to go back to NB1 and start from there.
So please follow the guide mentioned in the previous post.
Wow! I can't believe that solved it! I had tried other solutions that I saw using Odin (kind of a mix mash of all the stuff I read) but that guide takes the cake! Seriously the best solution, thank you for the responses!
