Hey guys I recently downloaded
a custom rom and extracted it. I tried replacing apps frm it with my stock apps like the dialer tab activity apk n also set proper permissions bt it didnt seem to work.
What should i do if i wanna replace my stock apps with the custom rom apps?? Is it possible to do so?

What if i delete the .odex file n replace the app?

So times the apps needs be signed again when will to install like stock in anothers rom.
An example is that to install an application on my hyperion rom had to sign again

Can i Ask you a question ? coz i cant udestand what you exactly mean.Are you running with a Custom ROM and you want to install an Stock system app ? if yes , i suggest to Flash First the Custom ROM Then after That Download the System app installer From Market , Pick a Stock app and install it and done ! ypu have an Stock system app in ur custom ROM. and If you are running in a Stock ROM and you want to install a system app from custom ROM Download and install the System app installer from market then choose an apk that you want to install and after that you have a custom system app in your stock ROM.

To be percise i wanna install hyperion 8 apps like the contacts.apk etc etc to get jb feel on my stock rom....

.. okay .. try to find "System App Installer" in market/play store then Pick the system app of the ROM you want to install then install it and woaLa ! The app you picked is on ur System app now !
Note:Backup ur system app before you replace it incase of errors ..
Some app gives FC after the force installation Framework is the main reason why app gives FC .. Some phones need to restart to enable system app... and System app installer Needs a Root Permission. your phone must be rooted.

if ur using stock rom you need to deodex it you cannot delete the odex file the app will not work without the odex.... search on youtube their are many videos on how to deodex galaxy stock rom

I have problem. I want to install Creed Touchwiz from Creed v3.5. But, when i change files on system/app ant set permissions it doesn't work (says that application is not installed). How can i install it? I use HYPERION ROM :]

So i must just pack it to rar or do zip from apk in another (harder ) way?
Take ur rom zip, open it and replace the creeds twz with the existing one. Zip it up again n sign it. Should work

With xplore file manager, u just need to push the file to the zip folder. No need of unzipping and again zipping then signing..

try to flash miui by amal das

or use any other custom rom

I think you might need deodexed stock rom but anyways you can push the file directly to the system just go into /system/app and paste it there and change permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot make sure you keep the original file in case something goes wrong you might also want to do a nandroid backup

I don't think it can work too.... Try flashing any other ROM's systemui... Hyperion or JBV3 perhaps??

i get an install error
but i switched to a rom with i9505G model number
APK install error
I tried these steps..
1. Pushed the APK file to system/app using Root Explorer
2. changed permissions to rw-r--
Still Didnt work Please Help.................

Just flashed my device (i9500) wid the latest cm12 unofficial rom..

Installing from where ?
1.If app isnt being installed from play store try this trick-
click download in play store
it will show downloading(but wont)
just press home button and reboot mobile.On reboot u will see it being installed(i.e. notification appears)
2.If u r having problems installing an apk file then ur android package installer is corrupt so try downloading apk installer from playstore

Yet another wrong answer - you sign apk with an app like zipsigner not Apktool which just decompiles & recompiles an apk (although the mobile app can sign)
If an apk doesn't install it's either
not compatible with phone (either android version or processor like armv7 only)
Corrupted AndroidManifest.xml
corrupted apk
is a user app that's not been correctly signed
is only meant as a system app (so install with system app installer)
cannot replace previous version (Uninstall old version first)
Or there's an actual problem with your phone so flash stock rom via odin

i used a modded google play store.apk application to stop verify the licence of apps but it was stupid version of google play so i tried to get the original but i couldn't get it back i downloaded original ones but every time i have problem appear (( Google Play Store Has Stopped Working ))
i tried rest factory settings but it brings the modded version how can i bring the original to the firmware i have or how i can get back to the original stock firmware that the phone came with ? :crying:

Don't use magenta text. Don't use a large font. Don't discuss illegal stuff here. Download stock Rom from Samfirmware, flash with Odin, done.

If you don't trust with samfirmware then no more other should you trust too!
Just download gapps and flash them.
No need to flash the complete rom again btw the app which offers u to install modded google play also allows you to restore original google play.

1) device status can be made official if you are below 4.4.2 using wanam xposed.
2) gapps work on all roms. They are google apps combined into a flashable zip.

1) you can't downgrade to 4.3 from 4.4.2. If you currently are using 4.3 then it is ok.
2) install xposed framework then download wanam xposed. Open wanam exposed and go to security where you will find the option.
