Hey guys. I have the Nexus S 4G port of HTC Sense. If anyone wants to help port it, post here and I'll PM you it. I shouldn't post the link here though because the dev hasn't released it yet, but QBKing77 gave me a preview copy. I'm trying to port too, but would appreciate any help.
Wats missing on it?
brought to you by my iced out ns4G
I'd be happy to help. Thing is, I have limieed knowledge in this matter. Mind pointing me to a good porting guide to begin with? Afterwards, I should be a great deal of help to the cause (hopefully)

Ill be happy to help xboxfan.
Ive actually been following the development of sense for the epic for quite a while hehe
PM me it and ill see what i can do, hopefully i can help.
thanks.
Here to Help
Gave up on Sense for the Epic about a month ago...
Saw your post today and instantly send you a PM. Im willing to help in any way possible. Testing, I can help with some Kernel issues if any exist, and most importantly, emotional support for the trial and error process that comes with reconstructing the wheel by converting an entire file system... lol
There is still hope yet for our beloved EPIC 4G!
Also, I have an S2 I dont use so I can help with S2 issues as well.
Waiting patiently for your response!

Try using this guide (I know we don't have all those files so use what we do have)

Replace kernel and updaterscript too.

I'd be happy to look at it. I'm not the most accomplished developer, but I know a bunch of the hackyish stuff that's been done to get parts of miui and cm7 working. And it could definitely be a learning experience.
Sent the pm with the link to everyone.

Thanks everyone for responding. I hope we can get this booting.
No matter which kernel and file format I use it boot loops at the samsung screen. I've also replaced pretty much every file except the framework and app files. It doesn't boot far enough to get a logcat either.

I honestly know nothing about git and compiling kernels. :/
It probably wouldn't hurt to learn though.
Does anybody have a copy of ComRom 2.1 for the Fascinate they would be willing to share?Since multi upload went down I haven't been able to find a working link for it or any themes. Also if anyone has ukb 50 I would really appreciate it.My SD was recently corrupted and I lost all my Roms.
Edit:I would like to add that me not backing up my SD was an idiot move on my part.

May I ask why you want to run such a outdated rom?
Because I enjoy it.I honestly don't see why everyone's hung up on the latest thing.Latest doesn't always necessarily mean greatest.I enjoy ComRom and I subscribe to the adage if its not broke don't fix it.

That's not to detract from the new Roms in any way. There is some great stuff out.I just happen to think ComRom is worth running as a daily long term.

i would say that its advisable to run an ed05 kernel at least with it as the missed call bug was mostly proven to be in the ec01/ed01 kernels

No problem, hope it works for you. Personally, I'd run a GB+ ROM at this point, but to each their own. I'm on ICS AOKP build 25 myself, for today anyways. Tomorrow it could be the next newest thing, or back to CM7, or a GB TW ROM. The nice thing with the TW based builds such as ComRom/Superclean is that they just work, unlike a lot of the AOSP builds that all have their own quirks.

I hear that. I travel fairly regularly for work as well. I'll normally run my flavor of the week, just to see how it holds up. If it's not solid and reliable, then I'll roll back to something that is. A reliable GPS is a must, as most of the places I travel to are new to me. I'm anxious to see how this latest ICS build holds up on my next trip.

Nope, no themes, sorry. The CM7 I've been using is makelegs' build since the official nightlies shut down. For CM9, it's been JT & sbrissen's build. I haven't tried the latest version there yet though, so I can't comment on it. The ricks port of AOPK 25 has been running well for me. I had the non-working wifi in build 22, but it seems solved in build 25.

After our conversation about ComRom I decided to give AOKP another whirl and I must say I'm impressed. My last attempt at running it was full of reboots and data drops but it must have been a bad download because it ran smooth all night. In any event I switched back to ComRom this morning with Detox theme.Once again,I appreciate all your time and effort.

Does anyone else flash more than twice a week?
Just laterly I have gone insane, now in the last week I have flashed four ROMS.
Why...one day I'm convinced a CM9 based Roms is best, then the next, nar Sammy based is better with its Spen integration, then I try a STOCK, get bored, then try an MIUI, then back to GB...now I am searching for another only had this rom 24 hours....

I have installed 1st time in my life, a custom rom PA... and not going to change
Royal emscid
I kind of had the same problem but now I'm trying to control myself from flashing my SGN
Yeah same for me too...but by far aokp rom is the best...u get a lot of options and also an option to turn ur phone into a tablet....but after some time i get bored and gets attracted by s-pen integration in sammy based roms....even though i dont use s-pen a lot....but now it seems i am getting settled to aokp rom...i know i can't be settled on one rom for long....

Been flashing 4 times a day for quite some time (when I was trying to cook my rom) but now I'm settled down with stock ics rom + speedmod 3-6.
I try out different kernels though.
I would say not just flash addiction but XDA is addicting... I'm trying to focus more on my studies...LOL
Every day i test new roms.
The best for me are aokp and aosp based roms.
Install PA and you would never wanna flash again..

Used the franco kernel option when flashing kingdroid and calibrated the battery and so far the batterys been really good however its only at 84%

Me, I'm far too busy on other things to worry about a whole bunch of ROMs that all do 98% of the same things. My gNote works well, and thats good enough for me.

The best thing for "flash addiction" is flashing new kernels.
This past week I've flashed about 68 revised kernels, from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1749863&page=17
It's great because :
a) only takes a few seconds to download
b) only takes a few seconds to flash
c) very very easy to revert back to an earlier kernel
whereas flashing a whole new rom is often frought with complications and unexplained behaviour
Not really flashing too much. Internet connection here is pretty expensive and slow

that would be my only issue, while I do love flashing and trying new things, a lot of the things I try are very similar. Would be great for my new addiction to have many completely different style ROMs, not just themes, almost making the phone a different machine each time (like going from linux to win)
That's the point I was making, mate. I've done my fair share of flashing (no, not like that) and always found you gain maybe one thing you like a bit more and lose something else you liked from the last ROM. In the end, I decided if it works why waste my time.
Not knocking you guys who are still searching for ROM nirvana, and I'm sure you are enjoying the ride as much as I am.

Throwing it out there as I have the time to pursue but not the hardware - anyone willing to part with a p3113?, I'd like to port over MIUI for the Tab2. If anyone is interested PM me.
For the love of Google, someone get this guy a P3113. Or donate so he can get one! I'll throw a few bones your way Tuesday/Wednesday.
Anyone else interested in MIUI for our tabs? If 25 of us just do $10, this guy, might just deliver something awesome.
Can, you provide us with a little more info on your dev skills; can you handle such a task? Also, a donate button, or paypal link would help your cause, getting donations.

Hah' thanks for the plug. In theory this would be my first full blown rom. Ive always done the testing, never the up front work. I've gotten my tab to the point where I don't even care if JB gets ported to it. Everything works, its stable, snappy, and makes no sense to mess with it.
As for my Atrix4G...that ****s taken a beating and MIUI was my choice. There where too many minor bugs and since I want a phone that works full time, I stopped messing with that and went back to Jokers latest. Searching around I can't find anything for a 3113 and MIUI. In short, if I had something else to fart around with and get it to the point where it works as well as what I'm writing you with...I'd love to share, maintain, etc. Paying for the shorties education, sports, etc comes first...hah. took the honest approach with this one.

MIUI on the Atrix was outstanding - video cam and a few other minor issues is the only thing holding me back there. I could see the potential on a gt2 esp with a kernel mod... who knows, it's just a thought! polska dobra!
Sorry man but if you want a tab 2 then buy one. They're cheap.
Miui would be cool but it wouldn't be hard for any decent developer to port. Plus with the popularity of this tablet miui will come, just a matter of time.
i hear you - hoping some decent developer forgets to work on their nexus, xoom, kindle and picks up a tab2 instead... and gets the IR to work properly

Also this might be worth checking out aswell

And let's not forget that if it works on the 7.0 it can be ported to the 10.1 with less effort...

Anyone using any scripts or other tweaks on their continuum on eg04? Not that mine is running bad, but if there are any good ones then I'll give it a go. Besides, there hasn't been much activity on here lately, so want to see if I'm all alone on here.

Got the Galaxy note 2 so won't be in here as much.. But still gonna theme and what not since the Continuum is one of my favorite phones of all time.
Yeah, I'd say a lot of people are coming up on their upgrade date... I have six more months.
Just was wondering how others were running scripts. I seem to have them working, at least the test script gives me the correct output at boot. I tried the V6 SuperCharger script, it seemed to work, but not much difference. Not that I think there is much more to get out of this phone, and I'm pretty happy the way it's running now.

I'm loving it. Tons of development around and it's an all around solid phone. My connection seems a bit worse than on my continuum though. I would've gone for the S3, but honestly it was just too big for my hands. I have a pretty difficult time just holding my nexus.I do miss the pocketability though, the thing is like a brick for me since it's in my pocket at school for most of the day. I have a bulky case on it though, so if you run it bare you shouldn't have any issues... I just realized how much I'm typing. This is why I can't be on forums while I try and write an essay, I just keep going on, and on, and on. Ok, I'm gonna stop. Really I will.
Cool...i just had to replace my continuum again...3g went dead, think it was a hardware issue...and was looking at other phones. S3, nexus, or droid razr m made my list, but verizon said I have to wait two more months before they will let me upgrade....grrr.
