Can anyone tell me if Samsung galaxy s4 can record 720p video in 60 fps???
At this moment, on stock app, no. But both the Snapdragon 600 and the Octa-core chipset supports [email protected] natively, so I predict it coming to the phone unofficially.

Ok thx for the info, but only the cpu can support [email protected] playback not the camera.......
Considering the S4 mess with octa core support I'm not sure on what Note3 cpu model to follow... I'm tempted to get the N9000 because of the promised extra power of the cpu, also I'm living in a development country without LTE support. But previous experience with S4 cpu (currently got an I9500) is making the decision not so easy. Any input or opinion is welcomed.
Thanks.
I'm going to buy a Note 3 too and even though there is no LTE support in the country i live in, i'd prefer the reliability and core clock speed of qualcomm snapdragon 800 to the so-called octa core exynos chipset. And plus there are more roms for i9500 which is the LTE version and im thinking that this tradition will continue.

More roms for the i9500?
surely a typo... there are far more roms for i9505 which is the Snapdragon 800 variant.
Thanks for your input.
I much prefer the Snapdragon to the Exynos setup. The Exynos solution consists of two quad-core processors, one with more processing capability and higher power requirements, one with lower (seems kind of like a less efficient version of Tegra 3's five core setup) - Having one more powerful, efficient quad core is a better solution IMO, even if they enable heterogeneous processing across both quad cores in the Exynos setup. Mobile apps will benefit from more single and lightly threaded performance than multi-threaded capability IMO.

Understood. Thanks again for the comments.
BTW, just get a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 32GB LTE (AT&T) (Unlocked) from Negri Elect. $744.50 usd, shipping 10/3.
The only issue is the waiting time to get it.
Apart from the CPU difference there is the HD video one as well.
The N9000 records at 1080p 1920x1080 while N9005 records at 4K 3840 x 2160
I think this proves that the octacore is a indeed more powerful and can handle 4K video recording.

Except it's the S800 version that's able to record 4k video.. N9005 is the Snapdragon 800 version and during IFA Samsung specifically said that 4K recording was only available on the S800 variant. I find it strange that the Exynos version doesn't support it.
so which one is best for tmobile( hspa+ AND lte )? n9005? I hope so, because I'm tired of the missing exynos drivers. Snapdragon800 please
I will be getting N9005,just because of the higher CPU clock, and better development support.
s800 version not supporting non European countries sim cards?
Did you get the news guys?
This is a total mess!!
I Wonder if there is something we can do.
But are there any benchmarks to tell us more about n9000 ?

What? That's got to be some corporate cellular pprovider money grubbing monkey business. Thanks for the heads up
I got the 9005 model and it is very stable and smoth.
When I first used it the heat generated on the back was too much. But then it settled down.
Now it heats a bit also. I did not have this experience with my last note 2.
I hope someone who has access to both devices can test for that and let us know..

I just watched review about n9000 vs n9005
is it true that n9000 has more total ram and internal storage compare to n9005?
i have the n9005 and the internal storage is 26.36gb, i guess they tested on a pre-release/ carrier rom. Total ram is 2440mb.

From what I've seen in terms of benchmarks the n9005 is faster. In terms of rom support I guess the S800 version will get more roms and cm.

N900
Exynos 5 Octa 5420 - 1.9Ghz
Mali-T628 MP6 GPU
NO 4K Video Record and Playback (I seen test video at China forum before, it confirm cannot playback the 4K video)
NO LTE Support
2.7GB available RAM
Benchmark Result
I am still cant take choice
Hi all
Now i have n900 , i feel camera not good for take picture for moving things even in sport mode , i will buy another one to my friend and i want to gave him good advice if n9005 will be better and faster , because camera is one of important thing , also he will use it replacing by his tablet that mean hard work so what you think n900 or n9005 , LTE for us not important now Fast and stability is our issue.
Exynos Vs Snapdragon
I'd love to see various benchmarks/power consumption statistics with different cores on/off.
A-7's 1 on at min clock
A-7's all 4 at max clock
A-7's overclocked/undervolted
4 A-7's and 1 A-15 all at max clock
just 4 A-15's
a single A-15 at min clock
All 8 at max clock
all 8 undervolted/overclocked
These all are necessary to know before considering the N9000.
If this info is not available, the N9005 is the clear choice.
If you see the rom support as of now the n9005 is already winning in those terms.

Hi
This is a follow-up on this topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2433379
that was created before this forum existed.
My question is does the Note 3 comes with the Wolfson DAC and does it support the Apt-X codec?
I can't remember where but I read the Exynos version, as opposed to Snapdragon version, natively comes with the Wolfson DAC.
The snapdragon N9005 is the LTE/4G version
The Exynos N9000 is the 3G version
Also here are some specs drawn from the thorough review of the note 3 at GSMArena:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_3-review-996.php that show some of the differences between the 2 models:
Processor
N9005: Quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 500 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU; Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset
N9000: Quad-core 1. 9GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7, Mali-T628 MP6 GPU; Exynos 5420 chipset
Video
N9005: 2160p video recording @ 30fps, 1080p @ 60fps, 720p @ 120fps
N9000: 1080p @ 30fps; continuous autofocus and stereo sound
when it comes to connectivity, they add it also support Apt-X without mentioning either models:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_3-review-996p10.php
but if you look at unboxing videos on Youtube, you will see the Apt-X logo only shows on the LTE/4G snapdragon N9005 box,
so would I be right in deducting this below - could someone confirm?
audio
N9005: no Wolfson DAC, Apt-X support
N9000: Wolfson DAC, no Apt-X support
Thanks a lot
Beng

As far as I learnt, the SM N900 (the exynos one which was supposed to have HMP BUT WONT GET ) has this hardware audio codec:
Yamaha ymu 831, not the wolfson wm5110.

The snapdragon uses its own solution- WCD9320 hw codec. Sorry bro, I have no idea about aptx implementation in either of these versions, sure people will come up and hopefully clear your confusion.
Snapdragon wersion is support apt-x codec. Apt-x library is in system folder.

yeah, I'm aware Apt-X is a software functionality, so potentially it could be ported to any device and I'm waiting for someone to create a cwm to port this to any device... (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45830675#post45830675)
What about the Exynos version then - can anyone say?
just so everyone knows what versions are available by countries:

Hello gentillo,
Do you have a BT APTX headset? If you do, did you try listening to hi rez audio files with APTX on? Notice any difference in quality over BT with your Note 3?
Hello..
I'm wondering why note pro 12.2 doesn't support 4k & 2k YouTube video ; I'm using the UC browser HD and I changed sitting at the browser to desktop on that be able to used to from YouTube video any reserosation up to 1080p but higher like 1440p and 2160p doesn't work at note pro 12.2.... note pro 12.2 should be able to working 4k & 2k reserosation...as my knowledge.
anyone have faced that issue? If there is any suggestions would be a appreciated.
cheers.
It works on the 4G version, i think the wifi version doesnt support it or atleast not yet.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
You need a Snapdragon to be able to play 2K and 4K, the Exynos doesn't support rendering above 1080. Hence why it works on the 4G and not the 3G & WiFi-Only editions. (The Note 3 has the same issue if you use the Exynos edition.)
