I've searched around and found several links of the SamsungIME.apk which allows GS3 owners to use the GS4 keyboard. I have not been able to get any of them to work on my GS4 though. I've installed a custom rom based on Cyanogen and can use swiftkey etc but I'd really like to just use the keyboard that came stock with the phone. I'd like to have the number keys across the top without having to longpress or toggle them on. Does anyone know a way to make this happen?

I've been using CyanogenMod for a while on my M2. BTW, works like a charm and installation was painless - thanks a lot for all the tips and your hard work.
One thing I am missing quite a lot from the stock ROM (probably the only thing, really) is having dictionary suggestions displayed at the bottom of the screen when using the physical keyboard (as when using any onscreen keyboard). I have searched the settings menus and simply can't find it anywhere. I have even installed MIUI for a while to see if it was there but no luck either.
Am I missing something or is this feature only available on stock ROM? If so, do you think it would be possible to have it ported to CM7 or any other non-stock ROM in that matter? That would be quite useful especially considering that the M2 keyboard is a little bit on a rubbish side - improved a lot with the Debounce fix though.
Thanks a lot for any suggestions!

But this is on-screen keyboard, isn't it?
yes, but got also auto-correct for HW keyboard with many languages
Oh, didn't know that. I'll have a look. Cheers.
This is quite odd though. Doesn't it mean that installing a stock keyboard patch would bring this feature back? I installed it and the stock on-screen keyboard was fine but I am fairly certain it didn't work. Unless there were some settings I missed.
Works fine actually. Thanks a lot for the tip wadimka.
Wonder if there is a free app with the same functionality.
I ended up using GO Keyboard. I like the interface more, the dictionary seems to be a bit better for some reason (not sure if that's even possible ) and on top of that it's free.
I am fairly certain I have tried it before as I use other GO apps including GO Launcher and the dictionary wasn't working with the built-in keyboard. Looks like I must have messed up some settings.
Good day all!
I've been searching around and have been able to find a reason or solution to my problem and I'm wondering if I did something wrong. I have an AT&T S4 (i337) that I have unlocked and rooted and installed the i9505g 4.3 version. I really love the stock Google experience and was really into it until I noticed that in the menu I seem to be missing interface controls under the settings menu to add toggles to the quick settings. I haven't been able to determine if that's something I did wrong during installing the rom or I simply can't turn things like auto-rotate off on a stock google rom, though it seems very silly to me.
I was using a Task650 rom on the GS3 and I really liked it so I attempted to install an SGH-i337 Task650 rom on my phone, which works great and I get access to edit the toggles but the S-view case doesn't work on that rom since it isn't based on the stock google kernel for the i9505. I was wondering if someone could help point out my mistake on this one, or if we really don't have those toggle options and need to rely on 3rd party solution.
Cheers!
So I was using Sacs custom rom. It was great but I was running into a few issues that weren't good for me. I resorted back to a stock MJA rom and recovery. I have added Philz touch back on and rooted.
I would really like to know if anyone knows how to install the note 3 keyboard back onto it which is available in Sacs custom rom. I've tried to run just the .apk but it won't install even after setting it to allow unknown installs.
Is it possible ? I really enjoyed the white instead of black that it is now or maybe there is something a lot more simple that I have missed.
Thanks for any direction people are willing to point me!
Nobody knows? I wish I knew more about roms because like I said the stock white keyboard is available while using sacs v4.3 Anyone out there willing to make it? I've searched all over and can not find a stock keyboard or a way to modify the colors
If you can't get the Note 3's keyboard why not try a 3rd party app like SwiftKey from the playstore? They have a white keyboard although not exactly the Note 3's but not bad looking at all.
GS4 Stock Rooted MJA 4.3,Philz Touch CWM,HotSpot Mod,Transparent Weather Widget,8SMS(Stock Messaging,KitKat)
Thanks for the suggestion but I have tried that one already. I just really like the placement of everything plus having the numbers available without having a long press is great. I have tried lots of the available custom keyboards out there but none stack up to me like the stock one does sadly.

Did you ever get this figured out MrWicked? I've been searching for the exact same thing.
Sadly no I've searched high and low. Tried what little I know to pick apart the rom to see how he did it. I just can't seem to figure out how to do this simple thing, or at least what I thought would be simple. Apparently it's not.
I keep looking for a way to disable the knock on feature with KitKat based ROMs, but haven't found a way yet. I'm running SlimKat on a LS980 right now, but none of the other ROMs have had the option to disable the knock on feature.
It is great to have until I try running with the phone or using it to do manual work while listening to music. It keeps changing songs, opening websites from Google now, rearranging my home screen apps, and sometimes managing to call people.
Does any one know a easy way (or stable ROM) to have the ability to deactivate knock on? I'd love to be able to turn it on and off easily like WiFi or Bluetooth so when I need the feature I can have it, but when I don't it isn't a pain.

you should specify you want a solution for aosp based kitkat because on stock(the lg themed one that came with the phone) you can go to settings>gestures and turn it off/if the proximity sensor is covered it doesn't allow knock on to work to prevent it from unlocking while in pockets and stuff
BUMP!
I'd like to know as well! The screen keeps coming on while in my pocket. What file/code/apk/ect is responsible for Knock-On?
I'm running AOSP C-ROM 7.1.

It is mainly kernel which is in charge of knock on so unless you know how to create kernel there isn't much you can do
Sent from my PIKACHU powered LG G2 D800
Access the hidden menu on your phone and disable knock on
EDIT: that would be for stock lg rom, but you could still try with your aosp kk rom

Just upgraded to the S5 from the S4 and hate the swype keyboard. I loved the one on the S4 but with this one I have trouble getting it to recognize the correct words but am unsure what the difference is. I've tried searching for the topic unuccesfully. Anyone else experiencing this or have any tips on how I can improve it?
The tip is use the actual Swype keyboard and stop using the half baked Samsung Swipe thingy.
And question goes to Q&A section, not here.
