Hi guys,
I was following the tuto Installing Kindle Fire HD 7" 2nd-Bootloader + TWRP Complete Tutorial but now mi KDF is not booting. The KDF logo blinks indefinitely.
I followed all steps, I did my back up, I ran the fireflash utility and I didnt get error.. the only different is I had the factory OS version 7.4.2. I didnt get an error message or something.
Did I brick my KDF? :crying: Please help to recover my KDF
Can you access recovery?
Volume up and power while booting
If you can you can reflash a ROM

Thanks mrkhigh for your answer.. No, I am not able to access to recovery..
Do I need to get a factory cable? Can I save my KDF with one?
Thanks
Thought I'd ask since I saw this thread, does your kindle logo ever turn blue?

HI stunts513
Thanks for your answer. No. it doesn't turn to blue.. It just spinning in the normal Kindle Fire logo..
Thanks for any help on this.
Yea then you need a fastboot cable. From there you can fix it.

Hey, anybody know what new content Amazon has included in the update?
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using XDA
Software update 6.3.1 "brings additional parental controls to Kindle Fire, including the ability to password-protect purchases, disable access to specific content libraries, and block access to the Silk Web browser," according to Amazon.

Tried rooting through the 3.x method, got stuck on the kindle fire logo on one command and nothing happened for minutes. Reset, nothing. No light whatsoever. Bricked. Damn.

If I'm running stock 7.4.6, is it safe for me to fastboot flash the "freedom boot" from HashCode even though it is for 7.4.3? I would imagine you can, but I'm just being cautious.
It will work, though I would advise putting the ROM you want to flash onto the sdcard before rebooting into twrp, I heard that the latest os detects twrp and won't boot up, so you have to downgrade or flash a custom ROM after you reboot into twrp. I thought that was what the 7.4.3 freedom boot fixed, but because of me seeing a few people with the same problem I would advise putting the ROM you want to flash on first. Just a heads up.

Yes, I did it Saturday from 7.2.1,
It should work the same, make sure you have a ROM already on the sd card, I didn't and tarp wound up in a recovery boot loop, fixable but a nuisance

Is there any place to download stock files from the kindle SOHO? It seems like there should be a repository for common files between devices. for instance i really need DownloadProvider.apk, but cant seem to find it anywhere. Can anyone help me out? i will be uploading all of my common system files for download for others unless something like that already exists and i couldnt find it.

That's the new Kindle Fire HD 2013 right?
If so as with most if not all Kindle Fire's you can download the .bin update file relevant to your device & extract it with 7-Zip etc. to get any file you need.
This is the latest software update .bin file for the KFHD 2013:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/kindle-fire-updates/update-kindle-11.3.1.0_user_310084920.bin
It is a 700MB+ download so not ideal if your just looking for one file etc.
right on the money
Thank you very much, that is exactly what I was talking about. I thought it may be possible to download the update but didn't know how!

Yep, downloading the .bin file and renaming it to "whateverthenameis.zip" is handy for getting files you need. You can also pre-root the ROM and flash it, once there's an unlocked boot loader and custom recovery.

I second this link. I have now rooted and put a custom ROM on two Kindle Fire HDs and have a third on it's way. I am getting this for just over $50 on eBay because they are blacklisted and can't be registered with Amazon. I put CM 11 on them and love it, they are a true android tablet now.
I'm glad someone got some use out of the updated images.
