Blame LG keyboard on the G Pro lol. A lot of people use there phones now days when away from computer to post here lol
Not sure why everyone wants the bootloader unlocked, I mean right now there is no reason to do so at all. And on top of that my last 3 phones this year have had locked bootloaders, but that didn't stop me from using international Roms, or Roms in general cause of Loki support or whatever its called lol

I'm curious as well about Loki. I'm not sure if it relies on the snapdragon 600 chipset or if its a baseband thing. May be something to look into. I'm not familiar enough with it.
Myself- I would be more than happy if loki works on our devices. Please, LG, let it work!
edit:
~just did a quick search... Loki relies on the Qualcomm APQ8064T.. or snapdragon 600 per Dan himself. dang.
Edit 2:
The 'other' LG devices it works on dont all have the 600.. so again, its possible. Hrm...
Possible unless Qualcomm fixed the exploit on the 800s

Anyone know if it's possible to hack an HTC Evo so that it would work on Verizon (instead of Sprint)? I know that both Sprint and Verizon use CDMA, but my understanding is that they each use a slightly different flavor of CDMA. Is this something that could be modified in the ROM, or is it a difference in hardware?

Why not just wait a few weeks for the Thunderbolt? It improves on the EVO in most specs and is made specifically for Verizon.

First, this has already been posted and there is running thread on it.
Second, this is only for the AT&T Atrix, not Bell
Thanks - I didn't see the other.
I never said anything about Bell. I didn't mention AT&T, but I said nothing about Bell.

Please refrain from making stupid comments like that in the future.
The bootloaders are always locked, it's the fact that the 3d's is encrypted.

Well im keeping my nexus s and going to wait for the gs2 to come. I feel bad for the people who preordered this. No evo3d for me. The nexus may have radio issues but at least it will be fixed soon. I dont like the route htc is going.
not htcs fault. Its not a buffet, but a made to order device specifically for sprint. sprint cooked up the ingredients list including cyphering the bootloader.

Non-Issue
you guys do realize that even the Evo 4G had a locked boot loader right?
It being locked doesn't make it unlockable, the issue would be if it was encrypted, which it is not. Thunderbolt was locked too and now it is unlockable... just give the xda-devs some time and they will unlock it for us.
This is a BIG misconception and something that keeps getting reported as a big issue when in reality is not as big a deal as it is being made to be.

Why is everyone saying they are going to the GSII. What if that is locked. Sprint is the one requesting this not HTC. Notice verizon was the first to do it and now sprint followed. This is the direction the market is going in general. I know this is not fact because I don't personally know but this is a sign that this is where things are going. Tmobile is also getting a locked phone.

Damn! I just can't use stock phones anymore!! The XDA Community moves so fast I thought that by now there would already be a ROM dump (it's been less than a day, I know). I suppose we need a recovery first. The hardware looks good. I know it has a slightly larger battery than the II, but if 3's actual battery life is anywhere near the II on custom ROMs, I'd be a very happy camper. Let the devs begin! :good:
I know me to. It bootloader let's locked again, maybe thinking about either getting a unlocked TMobile version or wait for Canadian unlocked.

Dang not the warm and fuzzy I was hoping for. So my ATT is due to be delivered this am. Or I can spend $400.00 more and go buy a T-Mobile. Crap I was hoping for a Root already.
I am hoping for something like Loki for this phone. It is great hardware but has too much crapware installed. Root would be good just to be able to remove some of it.

The fact that carriers lock the bootloader is both futile and absurd. If they consider the big picture, keeping it unlocked would actually help sales. I realize that they have a business objective to protect and want to maintain their marketing strategy, but the the bootloader almost always gets broken in the end. If they consider that single fact--then they should come to this conclusion: Why put people through hoops to get the access if they will eventually get it anyway? It just pisses people off.
Locking the bootloader does nothing for those who have no interest in root, etc. It does bring bad will for those who want root and will eventually get it.
It's just silly. Give people what they want!!

I used to have Sprint and I should have stayed because even though development was slow for that particular phone at least there was development. How are we doing with unlocking the bootloader for the Note 3 or will we be doomed to ROMS that are stripped down versions of TouchWiz for the rest of our Note 3 lives?
Yes
I'm doing just fine without an unlocked bootloader. Would be nice to have it unlocked. There's plenty of development going on. A lot of people who bought a Dev edition note 3 ending up selling it including myself.
