what sense version have i got and how do i check it? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all.
I know it might sound a stupid or daft question, but obviously I have the Samsung galaxy s4 i9505 with jellybean 4.2.2
but how do I check what version of sense I have on it, as iv heard when jellybean 4.3 comes out that sense 5 comes with it is this true?
what is sense - is this just the layer on top of the operating system, or is this only on HTC mobiles

Usually Sense is only HTC devices touchwiz would be Samsung's version its just the home screen layout. But the international version would have aosp just the stock android feeling without all the bloat.

Thread closed - Samsung devices come with touchwiz, not Sense.
Please, Please, PLEASE do a quick search on Google before posting as this will likely answer your question and (as in this case) save you from embarrassment and inevitable trolling.

[ROOT] [ICS] S-Voice Epic 4g Ported

Hey guys,
Not sure if everyone has seen the news, but one of the Galaxy SIII's signature features (not a big deal, nor something I even care about, IMHO) S Voice has been leaked.
You can install it now if you're running rooted ICS, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26300180#post26300180
I've been running it for a few hours now, been working decently. Not that I'll ever use it, but pretty cool too see.
Note: It's just a skinned vlingo as far as I can tell...
Good find, but shouldn't this be in the Apps section?

That's not Galaxy S3 Firmware lol. There's no working port yet and requesting for one in the wrong place is not gonna make it come any faster!
Patience!!

Why we need a SGS3 Port?
Nearly all is possible by theming and modded apps, and, the new galaxy is optimized for quad, it will hardly run in our ol' SGS1
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2
Nobody need a Port of the SGS3 Rom. Look at the SGS2 Port, it don't work really and the SGS3 have quadcore... forget it
you guys should know that HTC one X also has quad core and its rom is almost ported by mkalter then whats the problem in porting S3 rom ?

Definitly YES
Why the hell do you want to have a 2.3 ROM on a device which has alot more features inclueded in 4.2 :silly:
screw it lets put cupcake on it.
I remember reading a thread where someone was claiming a galaxy nexus with gingerbread on it would be faster. what a tool:laugh:
You realize gingerbread is significantly slower than jellybean, right? Why in the world would you want such an old version of android?

I don't think Note2 will be like that. Samsung will use Touchwiz to spoil beautiful holo UI
It's a nexus4.....
Gesendet von meinem GT-N7100 mit Tapatalk 2
We are lucky that samsung will put touchwiz on that ugly interface.
I meant this more about the colors, dont think Samsung will change that
Don't worry. All samsung android devices will continue to have gingerbread look and feel with built-in lag and delay
And if you want to install AOSP roms on an exynos device, Samsung has made sure that you get a buggy and incomplete experience by not releasing exynos sources and documentation for developers.

Since we are talking about esthetics, that's an entirely subjective matter... I like stock Google but I like much more Touchwiz. My launcher is Nova Prime but I use stock Touchwiz icons, for example.
Feature-wise, Touchwiz ROMs DESTROY stock Google ROMs. And that's not a subjective matter...
lag lil bit "touchwiz" and beautiful , better than fast "aosp" and ugly
and i wanna know what kitkat brings not what it looks since we can change and mod themes
I'm guessing they're going for a full "Card UI" now ?
I'd take Sense UI over stock or touchwiz

[REQ] Blinkfeed & Sense 5.5 PORT

Close to impossible and if not, then really hard to do. There was a project to port a Sense 4 ROM, but it didn't really go beyond experimental phase.
Porting Sense itself is also really hard, because of it's integration into the Android Framework.
One can always hope, but I don't see much of a chance, that some Dev will do something about a port.
It's close to impossible. Developers who could really port it have probably moved on to some new device. All you can do is download DO Launcher for closest to blinkfeed. Find it on xda.
