Note has 3 high quality microphones. (1 on bottom 1on side near bottom and 1 on top.)
2 bottom ones are for normal calling with noise reduction. Top one is for using speaker phone, as the speaker is at the bottom.

But for the microphones itself i think you'll have to ask Samsung as its not in the specs.

Both wrong guys. Note have 2 mics and that's not pressure sensor but temperature sensor.

[Q] Front speaker for mobile talk weak, certain angle louder

First i was quite disappointed with the front speaker when talking. Even loudest setting gave too low power. But have you noticed that if you hold it in an interesting angle, ear not parallel with phone but a bit above the speaker its much better? That way Getting closer to what i had with my old hero.

How is audio quality?

Especially on the internal speaker. Is it loud or tinny? How is it compared to iPhone (if you have/had one)?
Made possible by my sexy LG Optimus 4X HD (P880)
It's loud but the positioning means it is easily muffled if you set it down on a table or hold it over the grill. The sound is very thin especially at higher volumes so don't expect too much.

Upper speaker louder than bottom speaker

Did you notice that
My bottom speaker is slightly louder than the top one
I think it has something to do with the top one having the led notif light and the bottom one a microphone.
I think its normal bro. Mine is the same.
Тhe same is with me.I thought that a defect, but now i'm calm
For me, the Bottom is louder than the top!

I owned m7 and bottom speaker was louder. Now I own z2 and upper is louder. Guess it is caused by more/less free space behind each speaker and this can change sound dramatically.
You can try using toothbrush to clean speakers from accumulated dust (dust also makes speaker quieter). I do this from time to time and it does make a difference.

Speakerphone (loudness, clarity)

Proper etiquette aside (hint: don't use speakerphone while doing your "business" in a public bathroom), rate this thread to express how you think the Google Pixel 5's speakerphone performs. A higher rating indicates that you love it: it's loud and it's clear.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Pixel 5 has an 'under display speaker' earpiece, but the Pixel 4a/4a5G have a classical earpiece.

"This is definitely the weakest point of the phone. It’s not quiet but there’s no bass at all unfortunately, for phone calls on speaker it will be fine, watching movies without headphones..... not so much. This is all subjective though as I’m using an 11 pro max and the speakers are great."

"Just had a go on some demo models in store and compared Pixel 5, Pixel 4a5G and OP5T (my current phone). I would say that there is tangible difference in sound quality between the 5 and 4a5G (and even my current OP5T). The sound is more 'twangy' and harsher than the the 4a5g, which does sound more balanced overall."
https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/j5h654/comment/g7s9fph
"The P5 does sound more tinny and raspy than the 4A5G which has a nicer more rounded sound. I would say there is a noticeable difference between the two. I am not an audiophile or anywhere near but even I could notice a difference."
Ahhh why Google?, they always have to screw something up. Speakers are high on my list, i really wanted to get this phone but I guess I will have to wait another year to see what other shortcoming they will come up with.
Hopefully by then true bezel-less phones would have caught on.
Thx for the review.

Thx for the link, but the 4a is a no go for me with that bottom chin.
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but might the speaker quality be improved by software updates down the line, or are their perceived limitations all hardware-related?
Shouldn't really be an issue so long as it doesn't effect the volume or clarity while making calls.
Tiny phone speakers, as good as they may sound, are not how you should listen to music or videos.

One speaker is behind glass and the other is not. They don't sound the same (stereo balance is bad). Surely Google can not trick the physics!

You could get the 4A 5G then. Bigger screen, pretty much identical, costs less, and 6GB of RAM instead of 8GB. Pretty good trade-off is say.

Thx, but I already have replied to the suggestion.
The trade off I noticed in the videos is the 4a5g has a dimmer screen than the pixel 5 while the pixel 5 has a tiny speaker.
Personally I'll take a tiny speaker because most times I don't listen to speaker music unless I'm in he shower and even then it's a waterproof phone

The new Xperia 5 II is waterproof and has front-firing stereo speakers, like the Pixel 2/3 sported.
Pixel 5 sound quality: "I upgraded from an OG Pixel and while my initial impressions of the Pixel 5 are that it feels superior in almost all areas, the speaker performance is very disappointing. The sound output feels muted and tinny compared to the OG Pixel." https://www.reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/jb3o3q/enabling_mono_audio_on_the_pixel_5_improves/
sounds from the device is pretty good on speaker phone calls.
Watching youtube or listening to music it is ok, not fantastic. Not a deal breaker for me but may bother some
There is a reason that home speakers have grills instead of glass. No software can fix this.
How many actually take phone calls without bluetooth or a wired headset?
i'd think putting a screen protector on this would deaden the sound even more.

Agreed - its loud and clear for speakerphone calls and casual listening (and i have a tempered glass protector applied)
If you want to annoy people on trains or in parks with your bangin' bass tunes the look elsewhere - or do what most sane people do and use headphones

Yes it's a non issue unless you cover the bottom firing speaker.

Question Nothing Phone 1 Impressions

So how many of you get this phone?
Can we get some quick thoughts about the devices from those who got this phone.
Right now I am using F3 with Pixel Experience and I am satisfied. But maybe if Nothing release second model next year, but the first one had good custom rom support, I will gladly move to Nothing ( no pun intended ).
But, what bothers me the most, is the vibration motor, and I read or saw somewhere that NP1 had weak vibration, is that true? Vibration is important to me, and after iPhone 8 when I was using it back in the day shortly, nothing comes close.
Other thing are battery, display (outdoor visibility) , speakers, and of course the stability of the OS, although the latter is not much important since I will put custom rom anyway.
So, prons and cons?

Vibration is really tight, very ticky. You feel the vibration right where you touch the screen. BUT...the vibration feeling in pocket is minimum. The vibration is also loud (not in a bad way), you hear the ticks clearly (almost like you have typing sound on). So I think this is personal preference.
Battery is solid in my opinion, gets you trough the day with heavy use.
Display is solid, has some quality issues on some panels. It is not top quality panel so it has problems on low brightness levels on grey colorscales (black crushing, dirty screen effect, colorshifts to green, etc). Nothing new in cheaper OLED panels. I have no complain about daylight visibility or quality on higher brightness levels, very good performer.
Speakers are one of the weakest points (the upper loudspeaker particulary). Stereo sound is heavily pulled by bottom speaker and the top is just hanging along. I tried shift the volume to the left from accesibility settings but the volume was not enough. So, bad stereo sound and bass is lacking (comparing even to s22).

Compare them with a good phone and you'll say they're crap. Even "stereo" is a joke. You can't almost hear the second speaker.
Coming From Pixel 6..
Battery - No Noticeable difference
Camera - Not contest P6 so much better, but i hardly use it and was aware of this
Display - No difference
Speakers - No difference, generally use headphones anyway
Weight - lighter
Feel - Feels a lot more premium than the P6
Speed - No noticeable difference
Connectivity - No noticeable difference
Cons - Slippy as feck
These are obviously personal opinions. Although i don't notice that much difference does say a lot about the phone considering the price points between the 2 phones, just hoping that the community will make this a good customisable phone

Why should I compare it to good phone when this is mid range phone, even comparison to IPhone 11 is comparing flagship to midrange. And stereo is pretty good for this price, much better than only mono speaker. Speakers are pretty bad in all phones, if you want good audio just buy BT speaker.

Well Poco has better speakers and is in the same league. So accept my statement or just leave it like it is. You compare the nothing phone with another crap phone, what do you expect?
Thanks guys, I appreciate your feedback.
I would say this is pretty much expected from a new company and their first device.
I hope they will stick with just one device and provide good software support to it.
The screen is bad, mine has a reddish white ( white is not white but white white a red tint ) and has the green tint on low brightness and dark mode.

Not rubbish, just inferior. And it should be considering the price. Would you buy over 1000$/€/£ phone if you knew you can get same quality for 500?
There are bad panels and good panels, you get them or not at this price. And even if you get the bad one, it shows the defect only on low brightness levels and on grey colors. Just use your phones or go back to the flagship level where nitpicking is all the rage.

Amoled, Great Calibration, 6.55", 60/90/120Hz... Perfect in comparaison to my "So big" Mi 11 Screen 6.67" with exactly same caractéristiques.

I had this issue on mine, not sure how exactly, but I managed to resolve it as it was also bothering me.
I fiddled around with various display settings (color temparature under 'Colours' and Night light I believe + a couple of reboots).
I can post my settings if you want, haven't had it since.

Funny I just asked a question about the white coloring. Not that it should make a difference is your device a European or Global one?
Thanks again

I suppose it's European, as I live in Europe, is there a way to check?
