Anybody had this problem? Seems to completely go away when I stick the device on it to charge, but is quite audible otherwise when plugged in.

Has anyone else noticed an issue with the Iconia a500's speakers emitting a rather high-pitched, noticeably audible sound while you're charging your tablet?

Some user had the same issue awhile back, only not so loud. My guess, some sort of protection tape came loose (yes, Acer uses a lot of tape on the inside). Either that, or a grounding point is loose on the inside.
If it's under warranty, send it back.
If not, pop the back off and poke around a little. There's some guides somewhere in the general or q&a forum. Also some you tube vids if you search.
Also, dirty electrical in the house/apartment can cause this as well. If you have a really good power strip with noise filters, you can try this also. Or go to a new facility and plug it in there and see if it's the same.
Other devices do the same thing.
Every time I charge my ipod or iphone in the car via car charger while having it plugged into the aux to the car speakers, it emits a high pitched sound through the car's speakers. It seems to something inherent.
The solution might be simple as not using the speakers while charging your tab. But I guess there are ways to fix it as Moscow stated if you feel adventurous.
So I just found an interesting issue present on my N10. When my device is plugged in and at low screen brightness I can hear electrical feedback through my earphones. As I turn up the brightness the noise goes away. I can turn the brightness down to about 8/10 before I start to hear it and it gets progressively worse as I turn the brightness down further. I've tried the stock charger and cable as well as my TouchPad's charger, same thing with both. No electrical noise she the device is not plugged in. Anyone else have the same issue?
I have exactly the same issue. I didn't try to change the brightness though (I'll try when I come home).
I've noticed that there was no noise when the battery wasn't fully charged yet.
I don't know if anyone had looked into this, but I have the same thing.
What I'm wondering is whether this is because of poor shielding of all the cables? Say we're talking about headphone cable, does this happen with other devices? Could it be also that the charger isn't that nice (I have noticed buzzing coming from the adapter as I'm falling asleep and it's very faint, even without a load)? Or can we definitively say that it's because of electrical interference from the charging unit being so close to the headphone jack?
Any thoughts or solutions or updates? Thanks!
I have tried every search term I can come up with and short of going through every post in the Q/A on the Note 3 I can't find a definitive answer on this one.
I have noticed many other devices have the same or similar problems
I am trying to use my device to play to a car radio via an Aux cable, without much luck. It has a constant humming in the background, I have tried it with a few cables and a FM Transmitter and get the same results.
No issues with headphones at all
Humming only when it is plugged into the charger, very quiet (Nearly silent) if not plugged into the charger
Tried many different combinations of cables and chargers
Is there an easy fix?
One alternative I am looking for an A2DP - FM Transmitter but it has to be USB powered as I have a 5 port charger in the car, all the ones I have seen is powered direct from the power socket. I have used A2DP direct to another car radio and it works clear as day which is why I am exploring this option, as well as the ability to skip tracks from the remote control.
I use my Sony Bluetooth handsfree for that. It works like a dream. The only issue is charging: older models can't connect to phone while charging. You should check this before you buy your BT handsfree.

Do you hear that humming when phone is plugged to charger, but engine is not running?
Does the humming change voice or get louder with higher RPM? This is pretty normal on cars that phones keep noise when playing music through AUX while charging.
So most probably your car alternator causes this. One possible way _might_ be to ground your cigarette lighter 12V(?) output from car straight to battery or/and put something between + cable that gives 12.0V to your phone charger, no more no less, since every car I have had the voltage on cigarette lighter depends on RPM. While engine off it gives what battery has (~12V) and when engine running on high RPM ~14.5V
One more way would be grounding your phone to your car, but that might be a bit hard, and I don't know would it do something bad to phone either lol
Hope this helps.
I remember a similar issue occurring a long time ago. Had to do with the screen brightness being turned down.
Does the problem also occur if you set the brightness to 100%?

Hi, recently my Nexus refused to charge. I mean it was said it's charging, but percent was always the same (even when turned off). It turned out that it was an issue with usb charging port. So I've bought a new charging port, which is also merged with headphone jack port. Anyway after replacing old charging port nexus charges fine. However later I've been watching youtube video on it with sound on speaker. Every small move disables sound. It looks like it's getting "inserted headphones" event all the time. How can I fix this except buying next charging port? I've found two apps which can toggle between speaker and headphones, but problem is it's changing all the time so I probably need something with endlessly forces my nexus to stay on speaker. I don't use headphones anyway. And my device is rooted which may somehow help.
Regards
Anyone help?
I'm not sure, but maybe it's a issue with flat cable. Some time ago, I didn't put the flat cable well in my board and in headphone I hear only the left speaker
My 6p has developed a high pitched tone when plugged into the charger. The tone is so high in frequency that it is almost above human ear +22,000 Hz, young folks hear it louder than this old guy. This happens every time when plugged into various charging devices; stock, mobile, and other chargers including computer tether. It's not coming from the charger.
The tone lasts for exactly thirty seconds out of both speakers, then there is pop and the tone mutes.
I can plug the charger in wait 10 seconds then remove the power from the USB-c plug, and the tone will continue without external power for 20 more seconds. Always ending after 30 Seconds.
Adjusting volume level changes the audible tone level up and down. At 3/4 volume or lower I can't hear the tone anymore. I run volume at max most of the time since the speaker level has always seamed low to me ever since I bought the device.
When hooked to my mobile in-car blue tooth the tone will seize car stereo audio for the 30 seconds until the tone quits. The tone is outside the the bluetooth/radio high passband, so I only hear the tone through the speakers on the phone.
This problem started just after 7.0.1 dropped and also just after my 12 month warranty
I have search the interwebs, but can't find others with the same problem. Anyone else?
Thanks,
