Anybody else here use Chrome Beta? It's been fine for me but the last couple of days I've noticed the phone reboot when I'm using Chrome Beta for a while. This issue only started I believe since the middle of the past week and wasn't present until then. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I run Stock 4.3 JWR66Y with hybrid .84/.33 radio, Franco kernel r182. I was using r178 originally, and it was happening on 178; I only updated to 182 less than 10 minutes ago.
I'm running pacman with latest radio (I think) and bootloader with no problems whatsoever

I've been having random reboots for the last week or so. I thought it was from using franco r182 but from that thread looks like it may be chrome beta after all.
Delete chrome beta.
I have no more reboot after the disistalling

I simply use the stable version until the bug in the beta is fixed. No reboots since.
Known issue.
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=287260
I also can confirm the same. Nexus 4 with 4.3, stock with root, randomly rebooted whenever I put my phone down with Chrome beta in foreground. I reverted back to Chrome and the reboots are gone now.

Been having some strange issues lately with Facebook on my N4. Over wifi it operates like normal, refreshing my feed quickly and normally. But over Straight Talk T-Mobile it refuses to update 95% of the time despite 4 bars of HSPA+ For comparison, Instragram updates immediately and numerous Speedtests show my normal 5-15mb/s.
Tried wiping the cache and uninstalling to no avail. Anyone having issues? This just started about a week ago.
Running latest PA and latest Franco nightly.

What radio? Probably unrelated but I had similar facebook issues on the .33 radio over LTE. Downgraded to .27 radio and it fixed my loading issues.

Any chance you've exceeded your Data Cap for StraightTalk, from what I've seen straighttalk isn't exactly the most reliable for data usage.

By the way when you say update, are you talking bout with the screen off, or when you're actually in the app forcing it to update?
For me it's when I'm in the app trying to update it and I know im not outta data so I'm thinking it's the app

Course at the same time I never considered Facebook to be all that reliable on the mobile side, so if all the other apps are working fine and it's just facebook that's crapping out it seems to re-enforce my feeling about their app. (I mean it even crashes on iOS every so often).
T-Mobile Straight Talk really doesn't have a data limit. Or I've never gotten close to it. As I said Facebook is the only app that does this. And even then 1 time out of 10 it'll update like normal.
I'm thinking this is some bug with the latest Facebook update. If anyone has any other thoughts for fixes let me know!

+1 on this issue. Actually +2, since my wife has the same problem.

Same here with me and my wife. The only way I can get fb to load is to close all running apps via the multitask button then reopen and it goes.

Same issue here on the Facebook app, I've tried opening and closing it a few times and eventually it will refresh.
I believe it's definitely something on straight talks end because if you try to request the desktop site of facebook in chrome, it doesn't load either. I also am having this same issue.
Just a follow up, fixed using common sense. (shocking really)
Downgrading to 3.2 works like a charm. Can't post a link but look for the V3.2 APK on Android Drawer.
Basically, my N7's screen is frequently unresponsive. I was trying to start something in my launcher, and tried pressing it at least 6 times, but nothing happened. Then I tried swiping between launcher pages, and that worked just fine the first time.
This just started happening on an almost constant basis within the last 30-60 minutes, and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or heard of anyone else experiencing it. I'm running the latest Minimus with Jassy's latest kernel (I just flashed them this morning, but it was probably 4-5 hours ago at least), with the DPI set to 290 (I just raised it from 280 to see if that would help anything). I also cleared the cache and dalvik.
Any ideas?
My girlfriends tablet has done that too, then it just randomly goes back to just fine

Why don't you try stock and see if you have an issue. This would allow you to rule things out at least.

Same issue here...both stock and CleanROM
me as well. And this is my second tablet after returning the first one for dead pixels
My tablet is stock rooted and I have just experienced this. I had to reboot in order to fix it. Hopefully this doesn't happen again.

Same here this has happened to me on stock, but a reboot fixed it.
I've only experienced this using Chrome. it got so bad that I'm using the molasses-in-the-winter-going-up-hill Firefox browser just to be able to web surf.
Same here stock, and clean ROM.. Haven't noticed anything on kanged cm nor pa yet. Can't get otg to work worth a crap either I bought chainfires app to help with otg worked with stock based ROMs but not cm based ROMs .. I'm pissed I bought the 16 GB model..

It happened to me as well (complete stock). Mostly (if not all) instances were with Chrome. I don't remember it happening again since I switched to Chrome beta. (Fingers crossed).
I just took mine back to Best Buy and exchanged it for the 32gb model. The guy at the store asked if anything was wrong with the tablet and I told him that it would freeze up and I would have to reboot in order to fix it. He told me that all tablets and phones freeze like that and that I should reboot the device at least once a day to prevent the freezing of the screen. I thanked him and told him that I would do that. These salesmen must think that everyone is as dumb as they are.
I hope my new tablet doesn't have the same problem, because if it does I might give up on the new nexus 7.

Hi all,
I am currently on Cleanrom 1.3 with faux kernel. No overclock. Today I took my nexus off the charger and it rebooted itself. I understand that using custom kernel and rom will cause some instability but I've heard that the newest nexus 7 does have random reboots stock. I am still under return period, and I am just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and will you keep this knowing it might be a software issue.

I am on stock.
I had a reboot problem with mine. It showed about %50 battery life when it would first startup, then suddenly it would reboot, and continue the boot loop. I reset/clear cache and it would still happen. Then I fully charged the battery then it worked again. I exchanged it because I don't want to deal with the hassle and did not find anyone else with this problem. Only had 2 more days to return it, so I went for it.
I think the problem I actually had was the battery, it was reporting to the device that it was about 50% when it probably had none. I kept wondering why after so long of heavy usage the battery wasn't ran down already. Since you just took it off the charger, I don't know about your case.
Hopefully I won't see the problem with the exchanged one. I say, if you suspect a hardware issue, replace it. If it is a software issue, maybe they will fix it with an update. Good luck.
Mine reboots allot on stock, very annoying!

okay ive been seeing a lot of bug reports, systemui crashes on 4.3 roms, even on stock 4.3. if this update was so important and everyone says its better why all the bug reports? im honestly thinking of reverting back to 4.2.2. it seemed a lot more stable. just seeing if anyone has the answer to all these damn bugs.
I haven't experienced any bugs using my Nexus 7 with Android 4.3, both on stock and PA. It may seem that many people are experiencing bugs, but there may also be x times more that do not experience them and simply keep their mouth shut.

Stock rooted 4.3. No issues here.
Try to reflash stock ROM.

I have noticed that on both 4.3 and 4.4. Wasn't there on 4.2.
Im not sure if the issue was there before updating since i just updated the tablet by ota to the last 4.4.4 as soon i get it. I tried a clean flash from stock and the artifacts on boot are still there...i cant flash other custom roms because im stock and locked....more infos are appreciated I would like to know if its normal and if its hardware or software issue
Thank you very much

Mine has always had that as well. I don't think it's that big of a deal since they disappear right away. Possibly a combination of hardware and software. Maybe due to the Mali GPU chip? I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Seems to be pretty common on this device. Now if they don't disappear, then that's a problem.

Yes the artifacts disappear after the google logo. This thing happen only with the stock rom or even with custom roms? Unfortunately i cant try since its a gift, i hope this artifacts are not sign of a hardware defect.

I was using SlimBean 4.2.2 correctly, but updating to SlimKat 4.4 this problem appeared, but I also updated TWRP from 2.6.3.0 to 2.7.10.
Same problem with others ROMS as Purity and RastaKat and different kernels as KTManta and Trinity.
Are you using TWRP or CWM?

Thanks for sharing your experience. Im using the stock recovery since my nexus 10 its stock locked and unrooted. So every nexus 10 owner who updated to kitkat would experience this thing...This issue has been reported to google? My retailer told me that i can RMA the device but if every Nexus 10 have this artifacts at boot then its useless to RMA.…also im new to the Nexus 10 forum as i own a nexus 7. This problem has been mentioned on other topics? Thank you

Ok, then this must be a problem with Google's sources (a GPU driver error?) because it is a common issue between different ROMs, Kernels and recoveries, but I do not know if Google has been notified.
