This is an effort to write a comprehensive all-in-one guide (for newbies too) to flash ROMS on Huawei S7 Slim 201.
First and foremost you have to root your device (so that you can use certain applications e.g. ROM Manager, Titanium Backup). Do the following:
1. Download SuperOneClick (google it) and extract the files
2. Install Huawei Ideos S7 Slim drivers to your computer (if you have not done it already).
3. Connect your device to your computer via USB. Make sure you have activated USB Debugging on your device. Go to settings > applications > development > tick on USB Debugging.
4. Run SuperOneClick.exe. Disable your Antivirus program before running SuperOneClick (optional but helpful). If the drivers for your device are not installed, SuperOneClick will prompt you to let it find the drivers itself. Press yes and let it continue.
5. Click the root tab. (For my device I had to click root several times because the process got stuck, but eventually it succeeded)
6. After the rooting process ends, reboot your device.
Important notice: Although SuperOneClick confirmed twice that the device was rooted, Titanium Backup could not confirm root. If anyone knows of another way please advise.
Now, in order to flash ROMs do the following:
First of all, you have to install ClockworkMod Recovery on your device. (This will help you to perform many other tasks)
There are two versions of ClockWork Recovery (that I know of).
First one is v2.1.5.8
1. Download the recovery zip (201u.7z) from the attachments .
2. Extract the file.
3. Make sure you have activated USB Debugging on your device. Go to settings > applications > development > tick on USB Debugging
4. Turn off your device and connect it to your computer via USB.
5. Press the volume up key and the power key at the same time until the device enters fastboot mode.
6. Run install.bat (from the unzipped files)
7. When the process ends, reboot your device.
8. With the USB cable connected run reboot into recovery.cmd (from the unzipped files). In the window that will open on the PC, type “adb reboot recovery” without the quotation marks and your device (after a few seconds) will enter recovery mode. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately, unless you upgraded to CM9 or CM10 where you can boot to recovery by long pressing the power button anchoosing Reboot> Recovery)
9. When you see the ClockworkMod recovery menu, use the volume up and down keys so many times until the message “back menu button enabled” appears at the end of the screen. Now you can use the power button as ENTER. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately too)
Second one is CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.2. (credit to WRCODE over at the androidtablets.net that mentioned it)
1. Download the recovery rar (install.rar) from the attachments.
2. Extract the file. (you will find no reboot into recovery.cmd in those files so, either use the one mentioned above, or use ROM Manager or GooManager (from Play Store) to reboot into recovery. Note: Those managers require rooting your device)
8a.With the USB cable connected run reboot into recovery.cmd . In the window that will open on the PC, type “adb reboot recovery” without the quotation marks and your device (after a few seconds) will enter recovery mode. (This is something you will have to do every time you enter recovery mode, unfortunately, unless you upgraded to CM9 or CM10 where you can boot to recovery by long pressing the power button and choosing Reboot> Recovery).
8b. Use ROM Manager or GooManager and select reboot recovery.
(this recovery version does not require anything in order for the power button to act as ENTER)
Having successfully flashed ClockworkMod Recovery, you are now ready to flash your custom rom.
1. Find the ROM that best suits you, download it and place the .zip file at the root of your internal SD Card.
2. Enter recovery mode (as explained above) and select wipe data/ factory reset. Once this is done, select wipe cache partition. Once this is done select advanced and then select wipe Dalvik cache. (very important to do all of these steps)
3. Go back at the original menu and select install zip from sdcard. Select choose .zip from sdcard. Select the .zip file that you placed at the internal SD card (make sure that it is the correct one) and press the power button for ENTER.
4. Once the ROM has been successfully flashed select reboot system now and press the power button.
If everything went ok, after a few minutes you will have your first glimpse of your new custom ROM.
Enjoy it and remember “Use the above instructions at your own risk.”
Moving to General.
usb driver for win7
hello. i've been using this tab for a while and would like to root it. sadly when i connected the usb cable to the tab the driver is not installed automatically. so i think maybe i have to install it on my own. but i can't find the driver anywhere, even the official website of huawei. (the page is available but when trying to download, it show "Service Temporarily Unavailable - The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.")
therefore i would like to request if anyone would be kind enough to upload the driver for me to proceed rooting this device.
thanks in advance.

with regards Nenad
MY HUAWEI IDEOS 201uV100R001C239B010 IS NOT OPENING GOOGLE PLAY STORE ,GAMES AND INSTALLING APPLICATIONS BUT IS PERFORMING GOOGLE AND DOWNLOADING VIDEOS AND GAMES
Device isn't being recognized on fastboot. The drivers I use has worked for all of my devices, except for this one...
:/
edit 3:
1a) i still can't find my /sdcard on my laptop's "my computer"... it recognizes the android device, but nothing shows up as the nexus internal sdcard drive.
2a) still not rooted
3a) need lte radio...so i'll go read up on that
edit 2: SOLVED!!! (i can't edit the title bar) but 4.2.2 os is back
edit 1:
ok, guys, a little help here please. i posted in a couple of threads but got no response...so if you can please offer advice, i'd appreciate it...worse case scenario, i'll have to pay a craiglister to help me...but i would rather do it myself. i'll try to explain and provide as much info as possible to seek your advice.
i followed the directions in one of the video/thread, but i am stuck on boot loop (google screen, then X screen forever, os hosed/wiped)
i am reading efrant's thread...but it says i need to enable usb debugging...which i can't since my os is wiped...
successful:
1) i can get into "bootloader"/"start screen" w/ open-chested android (no red exclamation point)...that has fastboot mode
2) unlocked the bootloader
3) installed CWM v6.0.3.5 & accessible
4) my winxp 32bit recognizes the nexus as "android device" under device manager, but i can't find the /sdcard
unsuccessful:
5) i wiped the OS, so CANNOT get back in to enable "USB DEBUGGING"
6) i have no nandroid backup
7) i am unrooted (since i can't get into the os to put in superSU)
8) can't find the /sdcard even though the laptop recognizes the android device.
9) don't have adb installed yet, just the drivers
so where do i go from here?
10) do i need to install adb and push the rom?
11) do i fastboot cmd line it?
12) how do i move the 4.2.2 rom over if i can't see the nexus' internal sdcard on my laptop? nothing shows up under "my computer" even though the android device is recognized.
thank you all for your help and advice. will check back periodically when i get wifi access...(nexus was my only net connection...so i am hosed to say the least)
This is what you need to do:
1. Setup adb.
2. Download ROM: here or here.
3. Boot the phone into cwm (hold volume down + power, use volume keys to highlight recovery mode, then power to select it). Use this command to copy the rom to the phone:
Code:
adb push nameofROM.zip /sdcard
4. In cwm choose wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partititon, advanced>wipe dalvik cache, install zip from sdcard, look for the rom you pushed, select it, and flash it.
successful thank you all
haha, thanks chromium... i just read the same reply from another post was going to do the adb push, but
i just tried efrant's long way again using fast boot and it is successful ... the directions about unzipping was a bit unclear but did it anyways and it works now. thank chromium for your reply.
but i still can't find my /sdcard in "my computer" w/ the nexus hooked up...???
[GUIDE] LG G Pad 8.3 [v500] Unlock, Root, Flash Official TWRP & Official Lineage OS
I'm mainly writing this as a step by step reference for myself, but thought others may find this useful as there are some confusing older posts here. A massive thank-you to fefifofum for all his hard work, and he should feel free to correct me if I made a mistake here somewhere. The pad I used this method for was running Android 4.4 KitKat before beginning, so I did not need to downgrade the bootloader as described in this fefifofum post.
1) Acquire an LG G Pad 8.3 V500, charge it to full before beginning, have a PC with a USB (Micro) cable to connect to your pad
2) If necessary, reset the pad to factory defaults with the following hard key combination:
Hold Power + Vol Down > Wait until LG Logo pops up and release from both buttons > quickly hold Power + Vol Up + Vol Down again
Hit Power 3 times to confirm reset
3) On your PC, download the following files to a folder:
-Latest TWRP App (the APK)
-Latest TWRP Recovery for the v500
-Stump Root
-Latest Official LineageOS build for the v500
4) Boot the pad
5) Connect the pad to your PC
6) On the pad select "MTP" to transfer files
7) On the pad go to Settings -> Security -> Allow Installation of Apps from Unknown Sources
8) Copy the 4 files downloaded to your PC to a temporary folder on the pad (you may use the "Download" folder for example)
9) Disconnect the pad from your PC
10) Go to Apps -> File Manager
11) Browse to "All Apps" Internal Storage -> [Folder you saved files to]
12) Select Stump, Install it, Open It
13) Listen to the groovy music as desired
14) Tell it to brute force, and wait until it asks you to reboot
15) Reboot
16) Browse using the File Manager again to the same folder
17) Select TWRP App (not the recovery image), install it, open it
18) In the TWRP App, check all the boxes including use root access
19) In the TWRP App, Go to flash recovery from file, and select the latest TWRP.img file you downloaded (not the APK)
20) Flash that sucker
21) Reboot to Recovery (I use ADB Reboot Recovery, you could also use the hard button method in step 2 above)
22) Marvel at the beauty of Team Win's legendary creation
23) Go to Wipe -> Factory Reset, wait for it to finish, then go back to main TWRP menu
24) Go to Install -> Browse to your file folder from above -> Select the LineageOS build (a .zip file) you downloaded above
25) Install that sucker
26) Optionally, after installation, you may go to Wipe -> Format Data -> yes to clean all the LG crap off your device (this will wipe your downloaded files too FYI)
27) Reboot into Lineage OS, the best Phone&Tablet OS in town
28) Do a little dance
Hope this is helpful to me later, and to others possibly.
UPDATE: Thanks; I answered my own question, to clarify for other noobs; you need to transfer the zip file in its entirety, and twrp will unzip it upon installing!
Hi, for total noobs, the lineage os file is a zip file, does the entire zip file get transferred? or do you un zip first? If so, exactly which file do you install in step 24?
Thanks in advance.
Update:
I got to step 24, I picked some sort of "img" file to update. I have now been staring at the static LG logo for 10 minutes. How long should I wait to figure out if I did something wrong?

You need to install the Lineage OS build at step 24 in TWRP - that will be the .zip file you should have downloaded here:
https://download.lineageos.org/v500
It should look something like:
"lineage-14.1-20180409-nightly-v500-signed.zip"
Hope that helps.
My V500 is on 4.4, totally stock, and has a 'dead' spot on touch in the center of the screen. Happened after the software upgrade to 4.4.
Will flashing Lineage OS fix this issue? It is a software issue, the hardware works properly when tested.

I'm not sure, but I know that flashing Lineage OS will give you way more current and updated software than the old 4.4 build by LG. It probably is worth trying, assuming you back up all your files etc.
By "dead spot" do you mean that the tablet does not register your touches in one area of the screen, or that there is a problem with the display?
Can the files be on the SD card instead of internal memory?

XXXXX - NVM, I went ahead and chose Grind, it then asked if I wanted to Brute Force. All is well. Thanks.... XXXXNeed a little help, please. Step 14 says to tell Stump to use Brute Force, but the app only has a button that says "GRIND". Is Grind the same as Brute Force and shouldn't the instructions mention Grind? Thanks in advance for the step by step instructions. NVM
Let's say I got as far as step 26 and then now every time I reboot (either to System or Recovery) it goes back to the TWRP boot menu. Any idea which step I screwed up?
One thing that I'm somewhat concerned with is that when I try to install lineage-14.1-20180422-nightly-v500-signed.zip or the 0429 file, the Zip signature verification fails for either. So I tried them both, disabling the zip signature verification, so it would complete.
Thanks for the write up, and sorry for what is likely a noob mistake.

There are various ways to do root and various ways to disable it and remove it.
You must write how you did root, because no one will want to answer your question clearly.
You have a long internship in this forum and you should know about XDA rules, especially 1 and 3.
Dear sarahlegs,
Thank you so much for this procedure... Easy, clear, efficient... It took only 30mn to me to proceed and to give a "second youth" to my lovely Lg Pad... !
Here are my (little) feedbacks for noobz, according to my experience :
Step 2 :
After power in your tab by pressing VOL DOWN + POWER, when the LG appears, yes, you'll have to press VOL DOWN + VOL UP + POWER (all together) until the Factory Hard Reset page appears (it's not usual to press VOL UP and DOWN in the same time).
Also you will only have to press POWER two times (not three as indicated in the procedure) to confirm the reset (just follow what is indicated on the screen).
Step 21 :
Boot exactly like step 2. You will be invited to proceed to "Factory Hard Reset" exactly like in step 2. Proceed by pressing 2x times the POWER button and AFTER that the new TRWP menu will appear (don't be afraid to perform the factory reset ! the TRWP only appears after this step... and you'll be able to go on with the procedure).
Also, I may introduce an optional "26.1" step :
If you reboot your tablet now, it will work perfectly, but as a noob you won't find any "Google Play" icon, which can be a little bit disapointing for you (or any "classic" Google tools, like Maps, Gmail, etc..).
Don't worry.
To install all (or some) standard Google applications like Google Play, you need to install the "OpenGapps" package. And you HAVE to install it NOW, before the first reboot (as indicated in the OpenGapps procedure : "If you reboot into LineageOS before installing Google apps, you must factory reset and then install them, otherwise expect crashes.").
Procedure and download links are explained here.
For your LG GPad 8.3 (assuming that you installed the Lineage version indicated in this procedure), select "Lineage 14.1 (Android 7.1)" then on next page, download your package from "ARM" as "Platform" and "7.1" as "Android" (then it's up to you to choose, Nano, Pico, Full etc... I personnaly choosed the "Mini")
Once done, enjoy your renewed Gpad, and thanks again sarahlegs for the great job he did writing this step-by-step procedure (and all people who worked on this lineage realease for Gpad 8.3) !
I have a LG tablet. I really like it, until it started giving me trouble. It has Trouble sometimes restarting etc. It just buzzes instead of coming on. If I shut the screen off, it takes several tries Before it comes back on. Someone said it might need to be flashed again. Do you think it would help it? Please give me some advice. thanks
doesn´t work on mine. Stump says unsupported device.
I have lineage installed and that doesn´t work...

Thanks for the guide. My G pad 8.3 was already rooted with towelroot so i skipped the rooting step.
Once i've flashed LineageOS it just boots back into TWRP, even if i select reboot>system it still just boots into recovery. Anyone know where i'm going wrong or can help fix the issue?
EDIT: I've fixed the issue, i had to run a couple of commands from the terminal that i found in another thread.
Thanks

This was actually a very nice explanation.
Usually these things are too technical and you have to do research for years, but I know have LineageOS on my GPad8.3 V500 and I'm happy, happy, happy!
Anyone know if this will work on a VK810 4G model?
Can I just say a big thanks to this post and other comments - my tablet has gone from being an old and increasingly unloved device running Android 4, to become a slick clean interfaced smooth running Nougat machine. It is so good I have just bought another V500 off eBay. The OS maintainer is doing a fantastic job ( I just hope Lineage 15 will be here soon )
I've got a stock V500 running Lollipop, that I force upgraded back in the day. I'm told I have to downgrade this back to Kitkat in order to start playing with ROMs, is that true? And if so, is there a guide to do so - the link in the OP doesn't work anymore. Any advice would be appreciated!
Mark
Hi, folks, how you doing?
Today, I'm gonna help you to update your MIUI without losing your installed apps and stuff.
First of all, you have to download the MIUI rom image here. Choose wisely, because there's just one version compatible with MI A2 and it is called MI 6X - WAYNE.
----------------------------------------------------------------
A few things before you get into this:
[!]This process worked to me and can work to you, however, I can not give any garantee of how you will understand it, so, if you follow these steps, do it at your own risk.
[!]You must have USB debugging enabled, an unlocked bootloader, a converted MI A2 to MI 6X andTWRP recovery installed.
[!]CAMERA2API: If you have had edited build.prop and renamed wayne.xml to whyred.xml, you'll have to do it again. I recommend this guide.
Requirements:
1) TWRP Wayne
2) ADB
3) MI 6X Wayne rom
4) USB Debugging, unlocked bootloader enabled in Developer options
5) Platform-tools
6) Compatible USB Cable
----------------------------------------------------------------
A few explanations:
The update process has two methods: one is known as "clean update". On clean update, all data in your phone will be wiped on the process and the update will give you a fresh clean device.
The other one process is known as "dirty update". On this process, only the OS files will be replaced, keeping all that garbage (apps, pictures, music, videos, cache, etc) we love in our phones.
Today, I'll teach you how to do a dirty update.
----------------------------------------------------------------
From here, I'll assume you already have ADB installed and working in your computer and TWRP boot image placed in ADB Folder.
1) Download MIUI rom and place it in your phone's internal memory
2) Restart your phone with Power button + Volume down until you see the Fastboot bunny
3) Connect your phone in your computer using the provided USB cable
4) In your computer (Windows), open file manager in ADB folder, hold SHIFT key and right click mouse and select "Open Command prompt here"
5) In Command Prompt, type
Code:
fastboot devices
and Enter - you shall see your devices ID
6) Type
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-[version here]-wayne.img
and Enter, your phone your will restart and load TWRP Recovery.
7) In TWRP, tap "Install", it will open file manager to you choose the desired file. Select it it and slide "swipe to confirm flash".
8) The installation process will start. Take a coffee because it may take a while.
9) In the end of the update process, tap "wipe Dalvik/Cache".
10) Tap "Restart".
Your phone will restart. The first boot is a little longer than the normal (+-3 minutes), but it is normal.
will it break magisk?
Pixel 32GB AND Pixel 128GB - I have loaded and tested these instructions at least ten successful times on each of these phones. If at any time you get a failure or the phone does a long buzz/vibrate START OVER!. I started over & went back to default Factory Settings at least a dozen times on each phone without any issues.
Prerequisites:
• Google Pixel (sailfish) with Android 9.0
• Phone unlocked
• ADB installed and working on your PC
• Download to PC: latest Lineage Nightly 16.0 zip, Nano GAPPS zip, and TWRP-3.3.1-0 image (not zip)
The Pixel Phone has two partitions, called Slot A and Slot B. There are many links out on the web talking about partitions and slots. It is very confusing, but once you get this phone up and working it is designed to do updates automatically. If a problem occurs with a new update the phone will revert back to the working slot/partition. Due to this dual partition architecture there is currently no a way to install TWRP to the phone so each time you need it you have to boot the image from bootloader. I have tried a hundred ways to make it work, but this seems to be the new norm for dual partition phones.
Turn phone off.
Load boot loader – Hold Pwr Button + VolumeDown at same time until you see the bootloader Start Menu
Select “Recovery Mode” (this will bring you to the Default Lineage Recovery Screen, NOT TWRP!!!!)
Select “Factory Reset”
Select “Wipe system” and click yes to continue
Select “Wipe data / factory reset” and click yes to continue
Go back to main Recovery Screen and select “Advanced” then “Power Off”
Load boot loader – Hold Pwr Button + VolumeDown at same time until you see the bootloader Start Menu
Loading TWRP – From PC at adb prompt type: fastboot boot <twrpfilename>.img ----NOTE: Only tested TWRP Version 3.3.1-0. Currently I believe this is the first version that handles dual partitions correctly.
Phone will load to the TWRP main menu.
From the Reboot Button ensure slot b is active: “Current: Slot b” If not change!
Go back to Advanced tab and click “ADB Side load”
From PC at adb prompt type: adb sideload <lineagenightlyfilename>.zip (this will take about 5 minutes)
Go back and click “Reboot”. Set slot A active: “Current: Slot a”
Go back and click “Reboot” and select “Recovery” NOTE: leave TWRP check boxes as is!
Select “Apply update”
Select “Apply from ADB”
From PC at adb prompt type: adb sideload <gappsfilename>.zip (my preference is nano gapps & the only one I tested) . NOTE: most likely you will get a warning the file is not signed – just click “Yes”
From main default Recovery Screen click “Reboot”
After a few minutes your phone should be booted to the “Hi” screen. Continue and click on “Start”.
For now skip connecting WiFi
Leave Google Services as Default (you can change all this later if you want)
Skip Fingerprint (can add it later)
Skip Pin (can add it later)
Lineage OS Features – Leave Stock/Default and click Next
Click Start
Enable one WiFi connection (add other WiFi connections later)
Enable Development Mode: Setting -> About Phone -> tap “Build Number” about seven times until it says enabled.
Enable USB Debugging: Setting -> System -> Advanced -> Developer Options -> click “Android Debugging” on.
Add Google Account in Settings -> Accounts -> add your google account
Go to Play Store and add any apps you want.
NOTE: if you get/see “Data Transfer Tool Keeps Stopping” message pop up DO NOT close the window, rather click on “App Info” and click “Uninstall”. Everything should load fine from this point.
*** SUCCESS – WORKING PHONE! ***
A lot of steps here, but I have tried many, many configurations/attempts with “slot a” and “slot b” and the directions above are the only ones I can consistently repeat.
I've installed twrp to the phone several times. On the download page there are images and zips. Once booted into twrp, you can flash the zip and it will patch twrp into both boot slots. If you install a rom, it will overwrite the recovery so always reflash the zip. You can also install the image from a booted twrp. Install > select image, flash the image to recovery. On mine it boot loops, there's an option somewhere to fix a boot loop. If you fastboot flash twrp, it will overwrite the whole partition, leaving you with twrp but no kernel, it will always boot into twrp.
130rne, if you follow the directions exactly as listed your phone (only tested with Pixel) will work perfectly. Flashing TWRP into both slots will certainly cause you a bootloop. The directions say to flash the TWRP Image (NOT ZIP). Go back and follow the directions step by step WITHOUT ANY DEVIATION.
The instructions on the lineage site have been updated. They work if you follow them step by step. Ends up with the same result as yours. This is the most confusing device I've ever owned lol. But yeah, you can install twrp, I just tried it. Once I set everything up, I made sure I could access lineage recovery. I made sure I was on the correct slot to boot the system. Then I fastboot booted twrp 3.3.0.0, installed the twrp zip, and rebooted system. It will reboot into recovery, I made sure it said 3.3.0.0. Then I went Advanced > Fix recovery bootloop > reboot system. I'm at the lineage boot screen with twrp installed. I tried 3.2.1.0 and it didn't have the fix for a bootloop, so recent twrp versions only. Works fine, and I can backup my data. Not sure about decryption, you should be able to remove lockscreen security and decrypt data before booting into twrp. I'll test it right quick and find out.
Edit- decryption doesn't work on 3.3.0.0. Make sure to remove the lockscreen security first. I rebooted into twrp and data, system, vendor can all be mounted and files show up correctly in file manager. Good deal, I can make backups now.
Why go through all of this when you can flash the latest official 10 firmware with a double click and a 5 minute wait lol
