Let me see if somebody else have had this issue.
I flashed my Motorola Bravo, configured Motoblur and everything, then I rooted it, after that I installed Bravo Recovery and rebooted in recovery mode.
wipe data and cache.
Installed the CM9 and the gapps (correctly)
Ok, here comes the problem, I rebooted but I still was seeing the AT&T logo, it wasn't supposed to, but it's ok. After a while the phone was stock there so I take the battery off to restart in recovery mode again (volume up+power) and install the old rom that I had working on my phome (CM7). But after that the phone is dead, not power, so I'm not able to flash again or do anything else.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

First of all, if you do get this to work, I would recommend NOT using the BandroidX Bravo Recovery app from the Android Market. It is very outdated. josuearisty came up with a one-click root and recovery (root doesn't work on it, root the Bravo then just use for recovery) which has a much newer version of CWM.
As for your no-power issue, sounds to me like your phone is hard bricked. Check out this thread to see if it answers your question:

So, I rooted my phone via Z4Root, bought and downloaded Bootrstrap (awesome) then i installed the Tranquility 3.6 rom.. hopefully P3Droid looks here.
When i went to market to download Bootstrap again, because I wasnt feeling the rom too much.. It would download, then as it was installing, the phone restart, making it so the app was in an endless loop of "installing"
I rebooted the phone, and nothing.. so i used RSD LITE to do the SBF thing.. and it didnt fix it.. Tranquility F'd my shiz up. What do i do?
do a factory reset from the phone settings/privacy/data factory reset. I had the same problem. Apps would download then it would soft reboot during install. Evertime.
your gonna lose the tranq toolbox app after the reset. FYI.
whatd you do to fix the soft reset issue?
The factory reset should fix that. Well, it fixed for me at least.
Well, i cant bring up clockworkmod recovery, what would i have to do?
Loading the SBF does not automatically erase the current ROM. SBF to the latest OTA, and then do a factory reset using Motorola's recovery. After booting back up you will be able to start the whole rooting process over.

Well i rooted again, and loaded tranquility 3.6 again, but i STILL cant access Clockworkmod Recovery from TranqBox or w/e its called (phone isnt near me to look at it, sorry dudes!)
When i go there to 'reboot to clockwork' it just sticks at the Moto logo (i changed it from the tranq one) and doesnt move.. do i just reinstall bootstrap ?

You definitely need to have the Droid X Bootstrap installed. You will not be able to boot into Clockwork without it.
Search function is down but I did go through a few pages of threads looking for what was going on and no luck but I apologize if this has been solved somewhere else.
First off I would rate my rooting know-how as beginner to intermediate. I've jailbroken/unlocked multiple iPhones awhile back and have rooted/flashed roms on a cliq, mts, my3g, and this mt4g before.
I recently returned my current mt4g back to stock rom and unrooted. I do not think I turned s back on but I should have double checked before.
I currently have root and flashed clockwork and am trying to flash CM7 (I had ran it before on this phone as well). I have an issue right now where I cannot get into clockwork recovery as it will just sit at the mytouch logo forever and if I try and volume up and power into recovery all I get is 3 vibrations and a flashing amber light.
I can boot into the stock (but rooted) rom.
Any ideas? I feel like my recovery is broken or something but this goes beyond what I know. Any help would be great and any information you need I'll be happy to provide.
myTouch 4G, rooted, s (probably) off, stock rom, clockwork says i'm on 3.0.2.4
After reading that, I'm not fully convinced you actually have root and S-OFF. If you're sure you do, download ROM Manager from the Market and use that to install a fresh copy of CWM recovery. Also make sure the "fast boot" option is turned off somewhere under Settings. At that point, there should be nothing preventing you from getting into recovery if you have perm root.
I've got ROM Manager and it has SU permissions and I have the latest recovery flashed but I am still stuck on mytouch logo or the 3 vibrations/amber light when I try to get to recovery. If I reboot there is still no problem getting SU in terminal emulator or ROM manager or anything.
Fast boot is off as well. Thanks for the help so far.
Any ideas?
I don't often boot into recovery manually since most custom ROMs have an enhanced reboot menu with a recovery option, but if memory serves, I believe the key press combination is actually Power + Volume Down, not up like you mentioned in your OP. Give that a try.
Man I am really crazy. Here I am a tmo rep and also a novice modder and I'm hitting power + volume up.
Worked like a charm.. Now just to figure out why clockwork is sitting at the mytouch screen when trying to install CM7.
Thanks for the fresh set of eyes!

After flashing CM7, the phone hangs at the myTouch screen when attempting the first boot?
From ROM Manager if I try to flash CM7 from there it goes to the mytouch screen and hangs before anything else happens.

What if you select the "boot into recovery" option in ROM Manager? Does the phone reboot into CWM recovery? (you should see the main CWM menu in orange text)
Boot into recovery takes me to MT4G logo and hangs.

So you don't have a good installation of CWM. Open ROM Manager again and re-flash a fresh recovery. I think there's an option to wipe your existing recovery beforehand, so if you see that, select it. You need to get a working recovery image before you can do much else.
Deleted current recovery and I confirm my model again and it takes a total of 5 seconds. Trying to reboot into recovery again after and I still hang at MT4G.
I hate it when you know something you need to do but you've been working on it so long you can't come up with new ideas.
Thanks again for the help.
Sorry multipost since it didn't register on my computer the first time for some reason
Yeah sorry man, I've never heard of a situation where CWM stubbornly refuses to install. If you have the engineering bootloader, you could manually flash it that way, but that's my only other idea.
Alright well thanks for all the help man, I'll dig around and pick up tomorrow.
I ended up looking for the recovery myself on the SD card and deleted it and then it flashed no problem. Thanks again for the help

Sure, glad you figured it out.
Okay, I've searched and searched and no one seems to have the specific problem that I'm having with my phone, so I'm taking to the forums myself. I've been rooting since the G1, I know how to adb push things, I have used google and multiple forums to try to fix this problem. So here goes, anyone that can help I thank you in advance.
1-My phone, like some other MT4G users, reboots itself each time it's plugged in. Initially I thought this was because I was using a Kindle cord to plug it into the pc, so I bought an MT4G usb cable from tmobile, and still it boot loops (just the first white screen for maybe 4 seconds, then black then again and again). The only way to charge it is to let it start boot looping, take the battery out, turn it on, and if I'm lucky enough that it begins to boot up correctly I plug it in mid boot. If I wait til it's fulled loaded it just starts rebooting again.
2-It will not at all from any angle go into Recovery mode. If I try to go to recovery from Rom Manager, or from the screen you get when holding power and lower volume key or by flashing a rom through Rom Manager, it just boot loops just like mentioned above, until I pull the battery for a while (it is currently sitting next to me with the battery out) and then put it back in.
3-If by chance it's on, and plugged into the computer, it is not at all recognized. Ever. While it's booting up my computer finds something, but doesn't know what it is, and doesn't allow me to view any folders on the SD card. Yes I've installed the HTC drivers file. I've adb'ed things to this phone before, now it says device not found. I don't know when it stopped being recognized...
4-I've even tried to fastboot something over to it, but to no avail, still not found.
If I try to do a factory reset, it boot loops. If I sneeze it boot loops.... I don't know what to do, and if I trade it in under warranty, I have to reset it to stock rom, or they're going to charge me for a new phone. Any ideas!?
I have Cyanogen mod 7 on here.
have you tried a fastboot wipe? or have you tried to reboot to recovery from adb?
First, I don't trust using the actual ROM Manager app to do the flashing/installing.
Since you've been flashing since the G1 days why not use Clockwork Recovery? Just go into recovery and do the necessary wipes.
So I suggest to do a complete full wipe in Clockwork, meaning wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache. Install the newest CM nightly (Which is working wonderfully BTW) and see if your problems still persists.
Edit: I didn't realize you tried to enter recovery, oops. But yeah try what the buy above me said. Try re-installing the latest CWM recovery, if that still fails then try heading into there via ADB.

I second that, flashing ROMs from ROM Manager a terrible idea.
Well...if all else fails and if you are really thinking about returning it and still under warranty...few seconds in the microwave method should work just fine. They wont be able to see that its rooted if the phone wouldn't turn on, would they???
glimmer of hope...
So by the grace of god I did get it flashed back to unrooted, stock 2.2 by putting it as pd15img.zip on my sd card and going into bootloader. Once that was done I thought I would be out of the woods... I even plugged it in last night and no boot loop!! but this morning I unpllugged it (and I'm using a tmobile cable for the phone attached to my pc) and here it sits, next to me again with the battery out of it because everytime I try to turn it on (for over 40 minutes now) it boot loops to that stupid white screen (that is honestly driving me insane at this point). I know that it isn't rooted (because I dl'ed rom manager and it won't let me do anything without being rooted) so do we think that I'm safe to go to the store today to request a new one be sent? Thoughts? And thanks for the help thus far!
yeah I would send that back
Bad emmc chip? I'm sorry man, that's a terrible story.

So I've been running MIUI 1.8.whatever for a few weeks and finally realized there hadn't been an update in a while. After discovering MIUI move into the 1.9.Xs I downloaded 1.9.16 and proceeded to update via CWM. While updating it told me 1.9.16 runs off the Gingerbread kernel. At that point I got worried since I had been running the Froyo kernel since I rooted my DX.
After the update I told it to reboot and now it gets stuck at the white M logo. I can boot into regular recovery but I CANNOT get my phone to boot into CWM recovery so I can run the backup!
I've tried every button combination with no luck. i've booted into regular recovery and selected reboot having read that it will boot back into CWM recovery. Needless to say that didn't work either. And lastly I tried running RSDLite to SBF the phone to .602 but since the phone can't fully boot up RSDLite doesn't see the phone.
That is where I am at and I seek the help and guidance of you much smarter folks to help me get my phone at minimum to CWM recovery.
PLEASE HELP!!!
Boot the phone into bootloader mode, then SBF.

I got it into bootloader mode now, but my computer isn't finding the OMAP drivers and the installation keeps failing. How can I get these drivers onto my computer? RSD isn't seeing the phone even in bootloader so these drivers seem to be the key.
You can find the drivers in this thread:

I got RSDLite to see the phone. Now when I try to flash it, it makes it all the way to checking the checksums (which all pass) then tries to switch the phone to BP passthrough. It keeps failing to switch the phone to BP passthrough and now my phone will only boot to the Bootloader screen and says Code Corrupt. It'll let me run the flash again but RSDLite keeps failing at that BP passthrough switch.
Thats where i'm at now.
Try a different SBF file. I had problems like this when i tried to SBF once, but once I found the SBF file that works for me, its always worked since. (I've had to SBF like 6 times now haha)
will find an older sbf file and try that. Wil let you know.
Alright we've made progress! I was able to finally get the phone SBF'd to .602. Then I rocked the Pete's Droid Rooting program and all seemed to have gone smoothly... Except I cannot boot into CWM recovery at all! I've ensured ROM Manager has the correct flash for CWM installed, but when I click Reboot into CWM Recovery, it'll reboot normally. So I turned the phone off and held the Home + Power button to boot into regular recovery. I get the ! logo with the green android, but when I hit hte Search button nothing happens.
So now I'm rooted, but can't get to CWM Recovery to install ROMS.
What do you guys think?
Yeah, Reboot into Recovery from ROM Manager doesn't work for me usually either...in fact, I had to go into the Bootstrapper app, install the recovery again, and then hit Reboot Recovery. This is on Apex though, but can't hurt to try it.
Yea I finally got it figured out. Its been so long since I originally rooted my phone I forgot all about D2Bootstrapper. And I didn't read the how-to guide for updating to MIUI 1.9.16 so that was all on me.
Okay I followed these instructions
http://www.talkandroid.com/55906-on...d-3-droid-x2-cliq-and-cliq-2-from-the-forums/
I had it rooted, I used the droid x bootstrap to install the recovery and then used it to go into recovery. I made a backup, but I forgot to wipe before I installed a new rom (newest MIUI). I tried using the bootstrap to install the recovery again and go into it, but when I try to go into the recovery it just reboots the phone basically. It stays on the Motorola logo for a long time but eventually boots. I tried the Droid 2 bootstrap now and still the same results. The wifi on it is broken and the data does not work. Every time the phone reboots, its completely starting from scratch. I have to resign in with gmail and everything, and the bootstrap is no longer installed.
I tried using the recovery by holding the home button while powering it on, but wiping data and cache does nothing, and it errors out when I try to install the rom from the install from update option.
I'm stumped. How can I get back into the recovery so I can wipe+install the rom again?
I fixed it. Please delete the thread. Not sure why we don't have the ability to do so if it's our own thread.
Only because I'm curious, related to my DX presenting similar symptoms: If you have a few minutes, would you be willing to post up your solution/fix? I might find your insight and information useful in my present situation. Thanks in advance,
