Using phone only?
I searched forms but found only ways that requires a computer and usb cable.
I want to root my phone just using my phone.
There is a flash update option in stock recovery so i could use that.
But I want to check what I should flash there if it is safe to flash maybe another recovery, a kernel, maybe cf autoroot etc so i wanna ask here beforeiI start.

That seems extremely dodgy and it doesn't sound like the guy has a clue of what he is doing.

I'm pretty sure you cannot root without using a PC. Flashing ROM's is easy but you need to root first obviously..

I stand corrected, z4root is available on the Market and will automatically root and install busybox. XDA link is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
ClockworkMod ROM Manager is also available on the Market and you will be able to flash CWM Recovery from the app itself. After that you are set to go with flashing custom ROMs.
Seems it wont work due to having 2.2.1 firmware and something about the recovery not being 2e

Really not getting any further here as now just found out that i cant get into recovery mode

For those who might have missed it, chainfire has released mobile ODIN, no need to use a pc to flash .tar firmware. The flash counter doesn't change and no triangle.

I ve made a review / tutorial about it and there is also a demo of it

If it actually works (unlike CWM which never works for me) it's a great idea!

The same as in Odin but the things are less likely to go wrong because you don't need USB drivers, cables nor windows computers which could freeze in the process

Good tool. I bought it.
Good tool, but unfornately it isn't possible to root a phone with Mobile odin. Is there any way to root a phone without USB cable ?
Ive used the pro version.. Flash from rooted stock 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 with root.remained and unchanged zero binary counter.. Thanks a lot!!
Thread cleaned of childish banta please respect each other and don't forget perceived text is often very different than spoken....
Not tried it yet as only used odin about 4 times since got phone to get ROOT and to deep clean.
Will have to give a shot as always handy to be able to flash odin too while mobile.

root your phone first using other method which Is using USB..after that, just use mobile Odin pro to flash ROM with root included..
Great app. I flashed WXKK5 on rooted XXKI4 without losing my root. Mobile Odin Pro V 1,25 works like a charm. "Ever root" feature is worth money spent.

Has to be able to install with CWM.

You can install stock roms in their tar form using mobile odin. It's by chain fire and there's a free version on xda

Hello , I just baught myself a LG G2 ( D802 ) International/european phone that is . Anyways, First thing i did was rooting it... But consider i want kitkat when it comes as OTA i would like to know how to delete / disable root while getting it ... Cause i doubt i can install the / download update while im on root ?? Actually if you only root your phone and don't change anything(that includes not installing custom recovery) you can take the or a but if you are already rooted and on the international you can try this- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2665985
