[Q] Messaging problem with FV-5 app - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the FV-5 camera app, which properly opens when I try to attach a picture to a text message. The picture takes fine, but when the screen jumps back to the message window, it shows the same old picture, likely the last one taken when I used the stock camera app. Can this be fixed to start linking to the FV-5 app?

stumped ya's?

MMS - Picture Message Issue

Hey guys, whenever i send a Picture Message, it always sends the picture sideways. ie, all my portrait pictures get rotated 90 degrees, and look as if they were in landscape. My wife has a nexus one, and this issue is non existent. I use chompSMS, but this issue is also present in the stock messaging app, and handcent. i have looked through all the settings, but cannot find what would seem to be the answer. Any help would much be appreciated thanks.
This only happens to me if I take the picture in portrait mode... if I take the picture in landscape mode (as I believe is intended), it will send it the way you took it
The 6 axis accelerometer should be able to tell though...
But there should be a setting to stop the auto rotate no??

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Blurry Photos

I've been using the camera a lot lately and have always had a problem with the picture quality, mainly indoor pics. I would hold the phone steady, press the shutter button down halfway, wait for it to focus, then take a picture, but it would still end up a little blurry. Anyone getting problems like this? If not, what settings are you using?
Also, my biggest gripe is the fact that camera settings can't be saved. I would set it up so a friend could take a picture of me, but they somehow always press that search button, which then erases all my camera settings when they go back to the camera app. Did anyone find a hack or some sort of method to keep the settings permanent?
The main reason I have to bring all this up was biggest after taking blurry pictures last night, my friend's just bust out their iphones and with one simple click, they took an almost instantaneous photo with no settings to mess with and no blur at all.
I would also like to add that one of my friends was trying to take photos with his lg quantum as well, and he has the same problem. Is this a problem with windows phone 7 in general?
you could check out shcamera. It's a sideloaded app that was developed for the hd2 crowd, so it doesn't use the camera button, it's all screen rouc, and it doesn't have all the various settings/adjustments, but it saves settings and works pretty good. Tap screen to focus, press onscreen shutter button to take picture.

Same here. I owned an HD7 that didn't have this blurry issue. It seems the Focus camera is super sensitive to movement.
Thanks, at least I know i'm not the only one with this problem. I try to turn on anti shake everytime i use the app, which actually helps a lot. The problem is when I give the phone to someone so they can take the picture. They somehow accidently press the search button and I have to play with the settings again. Kind of a bummer, but I'll try to get used to it.

You might consider having them take more than one picture. I've noticed that when I take another picture after the blurry one, the results tend to be more normal. Maybe have them take a preliminary picture and then a real one. This seems preferable to messing with settings all the time.
Nice. The new NoDo update made the anti-shake option on by default. That will help a lot!

the nodo update didnt default the anti shake on by default on my focus .
The official nodo update for att focus includes a Samsung update that defaults the antishake on, helps lessen accidental capacitive button presses, includes an att hotspot sniffer/whisper that auto logins, and has a provision for transferring att phonebook contacts onto the phone

Me, too. Still have blurry pics, though.
in low light indoors you might want to try the setting photo quality on medium instead of the default hi setting.

[STOCK] Camera Problem

Whenever I want to take a picture using the stock camera it works when I take the picture, but when I try to tap the Square box in the left hand corner to check out the photo everything stops for a second, and the picture deletes itself and goes to the last picture I took before the other one, then sometimes if you go back to use the camera it says error cannot connect to camera this randomly happen out of nowhere my camera was fine before

[Q] How can I make sure the S4 camera (Lolipo) starts the camera, not the gallery?

Hi,
I find the behaviour of the S4 stock camera app very annoying since Lolipop came out.
Normally, when you click on the camera icon, you expect that the camera actually opens, right? Well, if you have once started the camera, and then entered the review-mode by clicking on a picture you have just taken, and then press the menu button to return to the home screen, the next time you press the camera button, you will be taken back to exactly that preview, not to the camera view.
This may seem logicl from an app-point of view (app already running), but not from what a user expects: when I push the camera button on the home screen, I want to be taken to the camera instantly, no matter which mode the app was previously.
The next illogical thing is: When you are in picture view mode of the camera app, and press the "back" button on the S4 device hoping to be taken back to camera mode, the app closes, instead of taking you to the camera. The only thing that gets you back is pressing the little camera-symol in the upper right corner of the app.
To sum it up: this is totally annoying, why does Samsung such a bad job there? Anything to change the behaviour?
Won't swiping work?
CM camera and Google camera offer the ability to swipe into gallery and back to the camera.
I guess the thing with you pressing the camera app and it takes you to it's previous state (gallery) is because the camera app and the gallery are tied together.
That picture preview gallery is basically another feature of the camera. Most camera apps come with their own. Even if you don't have any gallery app at all, you can still preview a picture.

pictures turn black/dark in selfie mode

hello when using the front camera, when i take a picture, it looks fine in the thumbnail in the right corner, but after pressing on it or going into the gallery, the picture is all black/dark. the issue corrects itself after a restart, but after 1-2 pictures the issue reappears. seems to work fine with 3rd party camera apps. anyone else having this issue?
