root & recovery

Probably a dumb question but do you guys think we will have root & recovery by the time the at&t and other US based s4's ship?

tried to flash custom recovery and tried cf auto root. .. Odin failed, had error on phone saying security check failed.

Looks like Odin mode had write protection and tars need a signature.

Sorry ignor that. If anyone can point where to find pre rooted odin flashable roms that are safe to flash from new firmware with evil bootloader my firware is xxubmg4.

Doubts about KNOX and ROOT

Hi all.
1st if all, i want to know whether i can remove this KNOX from my GT-I9500. I got it when i updated to 4.3.
I haven't rooted my phone and I'm using the custom rom.
I've heard that installing KNOX takes away my freedom to root my GS4.
Please help.

You can still root and flash custom ROMS though so don't worry

I want to root my device and flash a new kernel (alpha kernel).
But it only works with 4.2.2
Can i downgrade after rooting?

Hi.
It's impossible to downgrade if u are on 4.3 firmware (MJ5 version) plus the new bootloader.

What do i do then? I want to download the Omega rom and do the s tweaks to maxx out my battery life.

I'm afraid you're stuck with it, mate.
Wait for indie to update his new version.
U may want to try other ROMs that's available on I9500.

Issue with network stock 9005

A friends 9005 has recieved an ota update and no longer connects to a network could this be due to the region lock the signal bars are still there but get emergency calls only is there a way to fix it without rooting and can I flash other country firmware to see if any work thank you in advance

Is it the modem issue seems like an odd issue especially after an ota update is it worth flashing whole firmware or just find the modem thank u for your help im still new to it im fine with my note 2 lol

While you can flash it to try to fix it , I'd be very tempted to take it to the service centre and then post the results here.
If an Ota update of an un rooted phone can hose the modem / network. Then how can they be sure that an OTA cannot trip Knox? .

MY PHONE LATELY has been running super slow and I wanted to update it... I'm not too good with the galaxy yet so I don't really understand everything
I do know how to use oden .. But don't know the best updated firmware to use.. I do also know a little about safe strap so im not completely in the dark here... Any help would be great

Sweet.. Just checked it out.. That step seems simple enough.. And I have noticed towel root talked about so I should be able to find a link no problem..
So the NC1.. And link for proper firmware and will I have to oden this right after NB1

Ok everything worked good untill the custom rom flash.. It wouldn't leave the galaxy s4 screen.. So I had to re Odin the Damn thing because it didn't load safestrap anymore.. We'll. Odin failed for 2 Damn hours but after many failed attempts it finally got me back to NB1.. Then I refreshed NC1, installed towelroot and superuser and safestrap and changed to permissive.. Tried flashing a different rom (deadly venom) and every time I try to load it it just loads the normal firmware but on the custom slot.. So I'm not sure if I did anything wrong or if I should try a 3rd rom

I got golden eye to work on the main slot I think.. It's says that it's the build but it looks stock
Edit: after reviewing the goldeneye page.. It says stock look and feel so I'm assuming it's working..
