0 for me. In fact, the battery gets charged to full over night. I put it on the wireless charger by the bed right before I go to sleep.
My device sat unused for two nights and it only lost 6%.
i lost yesterday about 4% in 14 hours. do this ** settings- wifi - advanced - keep wifi on during sleep - only when plugged in ** you will see huge battery improvement. also you can use greenify app to hibernate apps that wake you tablet during sleep

Just wondering.. Is your auto sync off too?
Mine has been very good. Been unplugged for 7days 12hrs, WiFi on the whole time, couple hours of screen on time and still got 20% left. Overall I'm happy.

nope my Google location service, gps and auto sync on. but if u keep ur wifi off while screen is off auto sync will not work then when u turn ur tablet on wifi gets connected you get all the notifications. no point to get notifications on tablet while im getting those notifications on my phone. also ive noticed that the more you charge the battery it gets better

Gotta figure out your wake locks. I lost 0-1% overnight last night.
Best bet is to download better battery stats and gsam battery info. Also CPU spy is helpful for figuring if your tablet is deep sleeping or not.

I've turned off NFC, Location Services and only sync the folders I need in Gmail and i'm down to about 5% overnight. I'll try setting the wifi to sleep when the screen is off and see how that goes.
How accurate are battery stats on the Nexus 10?
Anyone else noticing that the battery percentage goes down incredibly fast when screen is on ?
I've never ever seen a phone go down so fast and I've had the note

i've actually been pleasantly surprised at the battery life on mine! Over two hours of screen time midway through my day yesterday and i was just above 60%
Have been advised to turn cell broadcast off
Supposed to save a bit if battery.

My advice, get Tasker to disable mobile data and WiFi when screen is off. Disable Google Now. Disable NFC. Disable GPS until you actually use it. Enjoy your 5+ hour screen on battery life.

Why the hell does the Nexus consume soooo much battery ? I have turned most of the stuff off but you dont get any Google Now, emails etc dont work correctly, - totally useless.
My S2 is better than this.

yeah its worse than my Galaxy S2. - battery stats say its the screen but that's on auto and its already dim as hell. When off it consumes power if WiFi is on.

And? Most people don't seem to get this: Say your battery depletes 1% for every 3 minutes you have the screen on, that's 300 minutes, or 5 hours, of screen time. Which is more than acceptable.

Yeah def better than the gnex which was rather good too. I took my phone off of charge @ 7:20am and put it on charge when it had 4% left @ 1:30am. So pretty much lasted 18 hours with medium use.

Hello-
Ever since I updated to 4.2 and especially 4.2.1, battery life has not been the same. Today I went from 100% last night to 73% in 22 hours just in standby. I didn't change any settings that I can remember. Can anyone please help with this?
Thanks,
wws12
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I had the same battery issues on 4.2 in standby...even with wifi disabled. I ended up flashing back to 4.1.2 and battery is back to normal. To me 4.1.2 is more stable and much smoother. Hopefully Google will fix these issues in the next update.

I noticed that a large portion of the battery is being used by something called "Media server" Any idea what that is or how to turn it off?

I'm also noticing the same sleep mode battery drain on 4.2.1,around 1% per hour..

Use media scanner root from the play site and disable the media scanner. Then this battery drain should reduce.

I think in my case most of the battery issues was from the device being new and the software stats still needed more time to be accurate, that has happened to me on my Sony tablet also..
Now I can see some real stats as I use better battery stats app for keeping track of the battery.
I use my tablet as a use when needed device because it's not my notifications device that is always connected, for that I use my smartphone. That said I turn on airplane mode when I'm not using it and sync when needed as well.
Só when my Nexus 7 is in sleep mode it has very few apps and services running other than the system ones.
So the stats I came up with are:
1% in sleep mode with airplane mode on and Google Now and Location History turned on..
And..
0.3% in sleep mode with airplane mode and Google Now plus Location History off..
So for me no Google Now as I don't need that much.. It lasts 3x more in standby without it... And the truth is, in my country Google now for me isn't that useful as it is although I'm sure someday will be..
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
It's strange...with stock 4.2.1 no root I haven't any battery drain... 0.7% /hour with wifi on and sync enabled...In the battery stats, even if in a hour i turn on the display on a minute, the display takes at least 40% of battery...
Hi guys as the title says can you guys pls mention how much battery you lose overnight with which rom and which kernel..
i leave mine plugged in overnight, why would you not?

Dude.. My phone was on 60 percent at 6pm once when I slept... Next morning at seven it was off... Wifi off data off.. All **** off... I dint even get a call or msg... Definitely not 1 percent I guess...
If I leave data and WiFi off, about 2% to 10% but that isn't usual. When I am home, I leave WiFi on and that gets my currents and YouTube video preloaded. 15% to 20% Max. I rarely leave it to charge overnight.

REBOOTED - nothing, drain battery like hell, lose about 30-40% in 5 hours...
I woke up with 15-20% battery drained... wtf guys ?
I kill all apps, turn of data, wifi and etc, still nothing...
BATTERY STATUS - messaging use 84% of battery... wtf ?
To all of you having problems with battery drain, you should know that last Google Maps update messed up the deep sleep state of the system.
I´m running Carbon ROM, but also tested with other 2 ROM´s and the results were the same, around 20%-25% battery drain over night.
I read that disabling "Reporting Location" and "Location History" under Location settings in the Google Settings app(the one with the green icon) helps a little, but still is an issue.
With these settings disabled, I get around 5% battery drain over night. Although the wakelock has decreased, is still there waking up the device. Already reported to Google to see if they can do anything to fix it. The wakelock appears as "Android System" or "Google Services".
Before update I had around 3% battery drain over night(around 8 hours) with WiFi.
Hope this helps.
:fingers-crossed:
As a battery life druggie, I get 1% max. Regardless rom. Usually wifi off and 2g data on. (wifi on is bad for HUMAN DEEP SLEEP).
A not sure useful or not hint, set pm.sleep_mode=1 in your build.prop
Disable everything you can think of. Wifi, gps etc.
Uninstall bloatwares, replace with downloadable ones, use greenify to freeze them.
5 %
i only manage to use it for about two hours after a full recharge ..i only tether my laptop on my cellphone with 4g connection..other battery sipping settings have been turned off including background data
