Hello
I couldnt find any post or so while looking up interferences with the Galaxy S4 I9505.
It is an international one from Luxembourg's carrier Orange.
My problem is that whenever I am on voice chat on the computer with friends (Skype and Teamspeak) they start complaining about my phone because they start hearing interference noises (or what ever they are called)
I never had this problem with my International Galaxy S2.
I tried turning off kinda all the features but nothing helped, Mobile Data, Gps, Wifi, everything is off but it still happens.
What could cause this?
Is there any solution to this problem?

Hi guys,
First of all, I'm a GSM user running the latest OTA stock ROM and Baseband.
So I've been making more calls lately, and I keep getting complaints from people saying my voice is unclear and breaking up on them. I decided to do some experimenting, and have come to the conclusion that it is not my SIM, phone's mic, ROM, or the other person's problem.
I've noticed, when calling from my Razr M to another phone (let's call it Phone2), if I set Phone2 to mute, then my voice is heard perfectly fine on Phone2. If it's not muted, then Phone2 can barely hear what I am saying from my Razr M. The whole time, anything the person says into Phone2 is heard crystal-clear on my Razr M
I know it's not my SIM card is because I just went to the AT&T store today and replaced it
I know it's not the mic is because if I use GrooVe IP to place the call via VoIP, everything is heard fine on both ends
I know it's not the other person is because I've had at least 4 different people tell me they can barely hear me on their phones, and I've tested it myself by calling the other phones in my AT&T family plan, and my landline, and the issue still occurs.
I found that changing
Code:
persist.audio.mic=digital
to "analog" instead, helps a little because it makes the voice louder, but it doesn't help with the audio breaking up.
Reverting back to the older baseband (the one that is included in Matt's Utility 1.20) doesn't make a difference.
Does anyone else have similar experiences? Ideas for me to try? I'm especially curious to hear from other GSM users.
Hi
I have just upgraded from a galaxy S4 to S5 and I'm having big problems with receiving calls and SMS when I am connected to my home WIFI connection.
Only when I turn off wifi on my phone I start receiving the backlog of SMS messages.
It's driving me mad as I have searched the internet high and low and lots of people have the same issues but no one seems to have a solution.
Some times I can receive calls when connected to wifi but the SMS messages don't come through until I disconnect.
My wife has also just upgraded from a s4 to s5 but hers appears to be ok.
I have noticed that in more networks/mobile networks/network mode, my wife's gives options of 3G, 4g etc but mine says LTE/WCDMA/gsm which I though was strange as we are both on virgin mobile. I don't think this is the issue though as it's a wifi issue.
Please help I'm on the brick of selling it as it's driving me insane.
Cheers

1- Regarding the WiFi issue, it may be due to some installed apps (a), some incorrect settings (b), or the firmware itself (c).
(a) Check to see if there is possible app that may cause the issue and try uninstall it.
(b) Compare with the S5 of your wife and make sure all related settings are the same. Or you can do factory reset.
(b) Try to update to the newer or latest firmware (compare with the firmware on your wife's S5), that may fix the issue.
2- Regarding the difference in the Network Settings menu, it may be due to different models. You can compare all important info on your own S5 and your wife's S5 with this app: Phone INFO ★Samsung★

Friends of mine were at my house over the weekend and he had a samsung s4 and had the same problem after logging onto my wifi. It is the wifi causing the problem. I had an old modem and netgear router that we hooked up and then we were able to receive calls like you should. We switched out the modem/router combo on Sat to my older setup and my phone is still working normally! I called my dsl provider and told them about the problem as I just bought the modem/router combo from them recently.
They never heard of anything like this. I do find it hard to believe that the home wifi equipment disrutes the cell phone signal. But my phone is now working!!! Anyone ever heard of this or that can explain why this would happen I would love to hear about it.
Hello all. I have bought a new Samsung s5 duos device, and i'm having a big problem with it, because of the bad sound quality during phone calls... During the phone call, a lot of people say that they can barely hear me (I can hear them without the problem), like I'm away from the phone or I'm using speakerphone... When i tried to call on my mobile phone, I have experienced the same thing...
I don't think this is a microphone problem, because my voice is loud and clear when I'm making calls over internet, it happens only during voice call over mobile network. I tried every setting, disabled noise cancelation, increased loudnes, different SIM cards, different networks, etc, but nothing helped...
This is my first duos phone, so I'm wondering is this common thing on this kind of devices, or that's a problem with my handset only?
Hey guys note 4 on Freedom (Canadian provider) Just got my phone repaired at a repair shop they fixed my screen and now im unable to make or receive phone calls. I can make calls with VOIP apps like hangouts and facebook messenger. I can even make phone calls with headphones connected. I thought maybe the earpiece was broken but when i use the dialer and type #0# i can test the earpiece and i can hear sounds through the tests so that seems alright including being able to record through the mic.
What ive tried so far: Tried my Sim in an s4 - works fine with s4 (Sim seems to work in note 4 the calls go through just both parties cant hear each other) Tried factory resetting and clearing cashe - no difference Tried safemode - No difference Tried Factory reset using Smart Switch on Pc - No difference
Anyone have any suggestions? Is it a hardware issue? Anything i can fix myself?
Hello, I bought my wife and daughter the S8 Active for Christmas, upgrading them from the Galaxy S6 . Since using the new phones the call quality is horrible. Constant dropping calls, sound quality cutting in and out with voices sounding robotic. Never had these issues with the S6. This all happens in areas that should have no issues with service. Tried all the basics, updating PRL and profile, tried different carrier options. Tried a factory reset just to mark that off the list. I've been going back an forth with Sprint tech support with no progress. I've been searching around online and these forums (great info here) but I haven't found anything to help. Anyone heard or had issues like this?
The phone(s) are both stock, no root or unlocks.
I should note that the only time the phone does not have an issue with call quality is when it is connected to WiFi using WiFi calling.
Thank you
Did you try toggling HD Voice off and on to see if it made any difference?

If that is the same as the LTE enhanced voice then yes. If it's different I haven't seen it but will check.

I'm on AT&T, but I'm pretty sure thats what Sprint calls it. On both my S6 Active and S8 I had to disable it and the dropped calls ceased and the call quality improved. It seems you've checked everything else (factory reset, clearing cache partition, etc.) so if this doesn't work, I would exchange, maybe for a different phone that would work better in your area. I don't use WiFi calling because it has an echo effect and can also result in dropped calls (at least in my area on AT&T). Good luck and let us know how you make out.
