Hey there, this morning, i was on Ace thread, looking for a CM Rom to port to our phone, then, i saw on the ace thread " 4.2.2 jb mr1 ..." i looked the thread then i saw a sweet rom AOKP based. I thinked " It should be great if we can port it to Galaxy Y " So i thinked about that all school time and, correct me if i'm wrong But aokp is like CyanogenMod i meant, i think we need first a Pure AOKP rom ( used as base ) then port the " 4.2.2 jb mr1 " rom from Ace. So there is my question : " Is there any way to build this " Pure AOKP " rom for our Galaxy Y ? " Simple questio, sorry if anyone think that's a newbie question. I've just a thing in mind
Thanks in Advance

So i suppose it's kindly hard to build an AOKP rom because of the libs used in AOKP are from Quadcomm that's it ? Or no... ? However, i think The Galaxy Ace have approximatly the same hardware as a Y. ( maybe a Qualcomm CPU ) ?

Can you provide a link ? Seriously i really wish to see some AOKP based roms on our SGY ( specially this " jb 4.2.2 mr1 " ) on Ace thread. This rom provide great UI changes settings from AOKP, apk's shortcuts on Lockscreen etc.. i never saw that on a Galaxy Y rom. If i can help to Bring AOKP on our phone, it will be awesome, unfortunally i don't really know too much on Android Developpement, but ! If someone can learn me something about Dev. Huge Thanks to him.

Aw, i got it So if we take AOSP Gingerbread by Spacecacker as base, we can easily make a AOKP Rom by theme it and tweak it no ?
But we can't have all of the AOKP Settings right ?
Even if i know i Android Dev. We just net to add few codes and. Jar basically. The suestion is. " Do the .jar are fonctionnal on Galaxy Y ? " i don't think so isn't it ?

Let me correct you both.
Basically AOSP means pure android, compiled from AOSP Google source.
AOKP ROMs are based off AOSP, but include many mods and tweaks.
Some come from all over the place, hence the name 'kang'. They are compiled originally from AOSP sources but highly modified.AOSP is pure Google android.
AOKP is a custom ROM project, like CM based on AOSP.
We need an Ics AOSP first, then AOKP shall run. It's not so easy as you think.
I don't think it's easy man, don't say that i just thinked about that few times ago when i saw cool AOKP Roms one Ace or even high-end Android phone like the S3. Then i started to think and i was right when i said AOKP Roms need first a Stable base like CM's Roms

Most probably, there never will be an ics or jb port for our sgy. But devs and we still have a ray of hope.
For example, most probably this thread's gonna invoke another of those long discussions already done regarding this matter. But i still have a ray of hope that this does not happen.

we don't have ICS,
we just have ICS themed roms, which are 2.3.6 android JB derived,
agree
I am also agree with you guys
there is no ICS or JB ported roms for galaxy y..... till now
because it is hardly possible to port ICS or JB roms to galaxy y because of low ram or internal memory on this handset....
or in future it may be possible .... don't know...
press thanks it cost you nothing
Agreed. It's not possible now due to hardware limitations. But who knows about the future.

This is a request to all the active developers for the GT-P3100 to port the multi window feature like the SUNGSONIC ROM or something like that to the CyanogenMod based ROMs , so as to combine the outstanding speed of the cm based ROMs with multitasking with multi windows for different apps !!
So please if you can accomplish this then the whole galaxy tab 2 community will be forever indebted to you and moreover the CyanogenMod team might even recognize your invention and give you a place in their team !!
So thanks in advance

Well multi window or split-view is almost there for cm. :highfive:
There are test builds for pac with this feature . look in the last 5-6 pages for the p311x build. P3100 will be posted soon by nick.
ALso you might want to have a look at this thread. Hope someone will port this beautiful rom made by some of the best dev's.:fingers-crossed:
Also this section is only for development. Please post such requests in general forum and do search b4 posting.

Actually what i think is that 4.1.2 is quite outdated because everyone now has 4.2.2 or 4.3 .
So i dont think there will be much mods or roms for 4.2.1 !!

Actually HALO))) is not what you call real multitasking because in HALO you cannot do two things at a time !!
You have to close the HALO window to resume back to the original task !! In case of multiwindow you can do as many tasks as you want !!

First of all, CyanogenMod 9 is not currently stable. It is in development progress for Samsung Galaxy Ace I and will be later ported for Galaxy Y when it reaches to stable version. There are already many improvements made, such as the performance, the user interface. Broadcom finally released the drivers for developing a stable Ice Cream Sandwich ROM (Android 4.0.4).
For any news about improvements made, check at bieltv.3's blogspot or galaxyyarchive.info
Developers currently working on it: bieltv.3, SpaceCaker, Lopicl.00
The ROM will be uploaded on XDA when it becomes stable.
We support the developers and we thank them for their hard work.
