[Q] xposed not work in I9505XXUDMH8, need turn off SELinux? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone in I9505XXUDMH8 is rooted by latest CF-Auto-Root. And I remove all KNOX app in /system/app.
But when I install xposed 2.2, it says “cannot write /data/xposed/modules.whitelist”.
Maybe the SELinux cause it. Anybody know how to turn off SELinux? change the status to permissive.
Thanks!

Same problem here

Try adam kernel 1.6, or maybe ask wanam how to do it.

try this in terminal emulator, i guess it will switch the selinux into permissive mode temporarily
Code:
su
echo 0 >/selinux/enforce

Solution?
Hi there,
Same problem here, just wondering if you found away to solve it?
I tried running the terminal command but got a 'not able to find the file' error.
Thanks,
Dan

Only Samsung verified apps will work inside Knox environment. You should check form Knox Appstore....
Outside Knox environment you can use any app...

[Q] Xposed Issue and Private Mode

Hi,
I would like to verify if I can still recover the photos I had hidden on private mode? I am currently rooted with towelroot. stock firmware and kernel.
I installed Xposed and Greenify modules and just edited the BuildProp : secure.storage.support : to false.
Any solutions on this? How can I get back to the bare stock rom with towelroot working and just without Xposed installed.?
Thanks!

What do you mean by disabling secure storage? I only know how to set the value to false. Is that the same?

The lesson here is that most of us do not backup our data. So remember to backup your photos next time. As to recovering them, you would need to re-enable private mode to do so. And you didn't give us the key piece of information we need to know if that is possible to do.
Is your Knox flag tripped? If it is still 0x0, then you can re-enable private mode by reverting your change to the secure.storage.support property and uninstall or disable xposed. Good luck.
.
simply just uninstall xposed and reboot your device.. then you will be able to turn on private mode again... currently xposed is not compatible with private mode... we are waiting for fix
Found a fix I uninstalled Xposed and disabled wanam turned ro.secure.storage to false and I was able to enter private mode again. Knox is 0x0

You don't need to do that, you can use my new module XSecureStorage, it supports SHealth and Private mode.

[Q] Knox-Free Rom and SELinux Question

TL;DR
If I flash a ROM which is "KNOX Free" (such as ExtremeDebloat Rom by elliwigy), will I be able to set SELinux to Permissive?
Details
Ultimately, I am trying to get my appradio 3 to be able to send touch screen input to my S5 (SM-G900V). I believe the reason I cannot get it to work yet is because SELinux is in Enforcing mode. There is an app called SELinux Mode Changer that allows you to toggle from Enforcing to Permissive by just tapping a button, but from what I have been able to find while researching the issue, it will not work on KNOX-enabled devices such as the Galaxy series. If I use SafeStrap on my rooted device (since the SM-G900V has a locked bootloader), flash a rom without KNOX, and install SELinux Mode Changer, will I be able to set SELinux to Permissive?
I apologize if this has been answered somewhere else on XDA. I searched but was unable to find an answer on here. Honestly, I'm a noob with this stuff so I might have even come across an answer and not recognized it haha.
I'm on a knox free ROM and just tried the selinux app and it didn't work.
Edit: there's a setting in the Wanam xposed module to turn off selinux but that doesn't seem to work either, just fyi.

Thanks for the info. It saved me a lot of time trying to test that out myself haha.
So currently no one has found a way to set SELinux to Permissive on the SM-G900V variant of the S5?
Hmm... I'll try this on mine. I did this on the stock rom with Knox disabled, and SELinux installed fine, set to permissive, said it worked...I was just tinkering with trying to get Airwatch to work with root, and needed it in permissive mode to install Rootcloak. I got rootcloak installed and it seemed to be fine with the permissive setting in SELinux, but I never got Airwatch to work, so I just gave up.
Currently I am on SlimHyde, I'll try SELinux on it and see what it says.
EDIT: Well, it doesn't work now, so either I imagined it working, or...I dont know...sorry.
Thanks. Yeah the app always says it worked but if i exit and go back in it says it is enforcing again and the status under About Phone never changes.
Also, when Super User is first started, it asks if you want it to try to disable KNOX. I said yes and it said it was successful. What exactly did it do?

Kingroot and SE for Android

I just rooted my galaxy a3 with kingroot and I keep getting this notification that says "SE for Android has been turned off..."can someone help me fix it aslo I cant do in app purchases
Hi, i've also use kingroot but on my A500FU. To disable SE message use super-SUme to unistall kingroot and btw install superSU which are better. After that the message disappear and normally the knox warranty is still 0x0. I used Super-SUme v9.1.2

If Knox is tripped you need magisk hide I think to use it. I don't think you can unrooted anymore. But I'm not sure

Yes the knox, it tripped. Cant I restore it to original stock rom, even if the knox is not reset? I am fine with it. Only want to use an unrooted phone without any problem working with apps. Also, please tell how to use magisk hide. I tried installing it along with Magisk Manager, but installation failed. Please help

If you unroot or use magisk hide you can use all banking apps except samsung pay.
