Even if the software could be ported (which I very strongly doubt), the HD2 isn't powerful enough and doesn't have enough RAM to use it properly.

HTC HD2 Multiwindow Apps ??
I have same problem

Loading different OS into Omnia II

Hi All,
I'd like to know if it is possible or not to load a different OS ROM into Samsung Omnia II i8000 ? eg. Android 2.2 ROM ? is it possible or vice versa, loading Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Pro into Samsung Galaxy S.
Thanks.
I was thinking same thing!
I'm ready to buy a Galaxy S and I was wondering if can be converted to WM 6.5.x as the hardware is better than my actual Omnia II.

i wonder if it is possible here.
Must be possible, but nobody have made it. Windows Mobile 6.5 is outdated, i would like android at least.

yes, so do I man, I wish someone can share the instruction here or at least their experience in loading Android OS in Samsung Omnia II i8000 mobile ?
Guys there isnt a real forum here for android on omnia II. But we have a great deal of the hardware working on it. Now the phone function isnt that long away. Look at:
bbbq1
You can see it is quite speedy. It has a 3x times higher filebenchmark than the galaxy s.
There will be a functional beta soon.
Because I dont have a topic here, you can follow the work on twitter:

I have ordered a Galaxy S (White) but intend to keep my Omnia II for other things, such as GPS/Navigation unless the Galaxy S proves itself a worthy contender with FroYo 2.2
As for Android on Omnia II, check this link out http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-ii-gsm-rom-discussion/298997/android-on-omnia-2-17-10-2010-see-first-post/
Sad to see the Topic is closed now....
How to load different OS
I'm interested in doing the same but I would like to try Symbian. Just the method in how to load a new OS is kinda unknown. WM 6.1 (on my Omnia II) is pretty slow, and have heard symbian works extremely well on Omnia. My mate has it on his omnia I and man it's smooth. He's not one too available for helping though. Other options are cookers for WM but not so sure yet
Any help on where and how? Recommendations?
Cheers
urrently there are no plans for porting to Symbian omnia 2, and I do not think is even possible, given the different resolutions (symbian 640x360 omnia 2480x800 )

Guess what, currently the progress seems promising as Almar team already managed to make BlueTooth and WiFi stable and workable...(probably still contain some bug) They are still working on it and these guys are doing an awesome job in keeping our Omnia i8000 alive....cheers and salute to Almar and the Omnia2Droid team!!!! Can't wait to try out Android on my phone..LOL

If we can get developers here to actively get android working on the Omnia II, I'll get you guys an Android development forum. (i'll have to pull some strings of course...)

[Q] phone with senses

Hi,
I was wondering why lg g2x and samsung galaxy s 4g forum don't have Sense of any version for ROMs. why is that? because of the manufactures are not HTC?
sense roms
that is correct sense is user interface which is developed by htc .
thanks

Galaxy S plus Custom Rom look and feel ?

Hi
i have rooted my girlfriends new galaxy s plus phone, installed FeaMod 1.2 and the latest Gingerbread Stockrom I9001XXKPU. So fine so good. The phone is running well, very good battery live and thanks to feamod the option to make a complete imagebackup of the phone.
the only disadvantage is the android modification from samsung. If I compare the samsung android usability with my htc desire, samsung sucks.
no nice clock and weather widgets for homescreen available like htc
the contact manager is very basic and looks cheap.
no chance to move google contacts to google groups on the phone. you need a computer to do this.
no widget to place contacts with pictures for smart dialing to the screen
lockscreen vertical unlocking is suboptimal
is there a way to modify the galaxy with a custom rom like htc desire with, for example, a Leedroid Rom? which custom roms are recommendable ?
where can I find a contact app like htc contacts ? I wan't nearly the same look and feel on the samsung galaxy like my HTC Desire. Is it possible ?
Regards,
Frank
Hi,
first of all welcome to the SGS+ community, we are pretty alone here .
Sadly there are only a few developer trying to port something for our phone.
We don't have any AOSP rom (no CM, MIUI and so on).
All our custom ROM are stock rom with modifications.
There is currently a CM 7 port in work but it will take a lot of time to finish it.
I would recommend you to have a look at the I9001 (SGS+) Android development forum, there are some sticky threads about modifications.

Cyanogenmod for p60x

Hey guys, i really like our tablet hardware but I really hate touchwiz... Is there any info about cyanogen or any other AOSP ROM for this device ?
No. Otherwise you had read it here or there in this forum. :crying:
what is missing to be able to make cyanogen on our tablet ?
samsung publish kernel source so it's possible, perhaps without PEN usable ?

SPEN works fine in Cyanogenmod for the original 10.1 (I installed it yesterday). What you don't get is SNote etc but if you are happy with alternative apps like LectureNotes then you are fine.
What we lack for a version for the 2014 Note 10.1 is a developer to do it. I would have a go but I lack both the time and the ability to do it

[Q] S5 vs. S5+ - Custom Rom support (Cyanogen)

Hi all,
I ordered a S5 and got the smartphone yesterday. However, I was suprised that it actually is a S5+ (G901F).
My first reaction was: Nice, I even got more than I wanted, but my second thought was: Is the Custom ROM support for the S5+ as good as for the S5?
I definitely want to install the Cyanogen Mod!
My research in this forum seems to confirm my worries. There is only an unofficial version of this mod right?
And isn't the support for the "main" version (-> S5) always better than for sub versions like the S5+?
I am thinking about to make a complaint in order to get the S5.
What would you, the far more experienced, do?
oetzi
try this, almost same as cm but some more options, and official support

I wonder you went with Samsung and S5 if cyanogenmod is important to you. Samsung's phobea I had or still have are Galaxy Nexus, S 3(i9305 LTS with 2 GB of RAM) ,4 i9505, 5 (900f), Note 2, 3 and you can guess which is the only one with decent CM support.
I have still not tried CM on S5, but I definitely am on S3 and 4, and it has never worked really well. Bearable but not well. And as far as I can see it is the same situation with S5. There are issues with wifi and Bluetooth, camera as usual is not supported because they keep they TW shut for them self. I would like to be wrong here, because I prefer anything AOSP based to Touchwiz, but the problem was I didn't have much choice when I took S5.
For me, the killer feature of the Cyanogen Mod is the individual rights management which I can configure for every app.
@ad0dh67: Does Dokdo also have this opportunity?
@!crazy: I see your point, but this is too late now I guess
The initial question remains the same: Is the Cyanogen Mod version for the S5 better / more stable than for the S5+?
