[Q] Stock DefyPLUS ROM (SBF) to MB525(Defy)? - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i will use on my MB525 defy, a DFP 2.3 ROM. It is possible? I flashed "DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP-132_BLUR_S...sbf", success, but the camera isnt work because i have green lensed defy.
What is the solution, if i will use DFP rom with working camera? If not solved, exist any custom rom with this blur design?
Thanks.

Why don't you try custom roms by Quarx ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2385250

To fix the camera use 2ndboot ROMs like ms2ginger, cm9, cm10 onwards.

It will only work if you never flashed a Android 2.3.6 full sbf.

you could try clearing dalvic cache and cache...
have you restored any "system" files? that could also cause some problems. if you don't get it running again, i would flash again. Then try to only restore user apps. I think then you will be all right.
thank you
it works now

Quarx has been building ROMs for the Froyo based kernel defys .. you can try the ICS builds of epsylon3 which has been developed for GB kernal based defys. If u have rooted ur mobile then u can try epsylon3 builds instantly or if u want to use Quarx builds then u need to flash Froyo kernal after flashing the ROM...
How can i flash a new kernel. Is there a .zip file for download?
There are two versions of cm9,one with froyo(uses cm7 kernel) and the other with ginger bread(uses cm9kernel).
You can see these threads for the same. The kernel zips are also there to download.

things will become much easier and there are lots of roms for it

a froyo sbf with bl=6. anyone with bl up to 6 (5&6) can now downgrade to froyo and flash all froyo kernel based roms, like miui and froyo cm7 and cm9, etc
edit: warning, do not try the camera when you're still in the base rom as it's a chinese rom and might kill your led flashlight.

Cant install MIUI GB

Hi,
I have a defy and recently i have flashed an Asian Defy+ sbf on my defy.
I have rooted it and installed the Defy 2ndInit...and then afterwards i tried to install the MIUI 2.4.13 GB stable version on it.
But the installation was not successful. I got an error at the boot loader screen....something like (Err: A5,70,00,00).
Can anyone guide me how can i install MIUI on my defy again. I have attached the screenshot of the kernel details here.
I know there could be some problem with the BL it dont exactly understand it....
Thanks....
You have a GB kernel and the ROM you are flashing is based on froyo kernel.

miui is based on the CM7 kernel for defy. The froyo kernel. There is no chance to get miui work on the defy+ GB kernel.
so if you weren't able to flash a froyo sbf (downgrade), you might use cm10.

[Q] How to flash Quarks Custom Kernels

Dear All,
Greetings !!!!!
I have green lense defy in which i had accidently flashed defy plus rom. now my defy is on sbf of defy plus as it is non down (BL7)
For almost 1 month My camera was dead but after flashing quarks 2nd boot rom ( which includes custom kernels) my camera starts working.
Now if i flash other roms for eq. rapidroid / miui / wajkUI then kernels changes ( it shows kernel name like hudson ) & again my camera wont work.
Should I flash custom kernel of quarks on the above mentioned roms?? Will Camera work ???
Please guide me ...Thanks in Advnce...
Latest Qarx ROM's have kernel embedded so you do not need to flash nothing more but gapps. Do cash and dalvic wipe and flash newest 18/10 ROM then gapps.
The ROM is unified and suits any kind of Defy

Oops! Quarx kernel is for JB, which contains jb ramdisk internally. It won't boot for other than jb builds. You can install any jb rom, like, aokp, cna, slimbean all work with Quarx kernel, but not with any other cm9 and less builds.
Please Specify in details...

No. These ROMs have the kernel embedded in them. You just need to Flash the zip file through recovery.

Does this mean that there is no way to downgrade to other roms like MIUI (gingerbread based) or the stock defy Froyo rom using a nandroid backup?

You can go back from the custom kernel to your stock rom. The custom kernel doesn't change your bootloader version. So no need to worry.
Your Reply Will Help Thousands of DEFY Users

Dear Uman, Ur reply will definately help thousands of defy user (mb525 ) who have accidently flashed full sbf of defy plus (mb 526) and who are on BL 7. Before quarks custom kernels i.e. second boot roms camera of all those defy users was dead. Only after flashing quarks second boot rom camera becomes on!!! But I have gone through full XDA Forum & according to my RnD, at present there is no way to downgrade BL7. For ur information I had tried 2.2 nandroid backup but it was giving me bootloader error, further more I had switched to other GB Roms but then kernels changes and phone was working fine without camera.. Kindly confirm ur reply so that I will once again try to do so......:good:
